...The Government exercised the latter option when we disagreed over the judgment debt and other Gargantuan crimes. The Government, and my colleague Ministers at the time know that there was no provision for dismissal under my contract of employment as a Minister or that of any Minster.
I reserve the right as a citizen of Ghana to protect and defend my honour and integrity should this civilized challenge for the truth be ignored.
This is not the price I should be made to pay by the Government of Ghana for defending the Constitution of Ghana in the Waterville and Isofoton unconstitutional payments declared by the Supreme Court.

To address the issues properly requires leadership and collective effort and in my view, appointing Martin Amidu per se wouldn't solve the problem. I think as a politician, it is worth noting and understanding why Amidu appears to have been 'ignored' by the president - IT IS NOT EVERYONE YOU CAN WORK WITH and for all we know, Amidu could be a 'divisive' and 'destractive' influence hence he being left out in the 'cold'.
I happen to believe Amidu harbours his own personal ambitions of 'leadership' of the NDC party and suspect those ambitions have partly characterised some of his recent utterances and actions which have done more harm to his own fortunes and that of his party, than good. He (amidu) needs to seriously look himself in the mirror and examine how he has gone about things and to see whether he also needs to review his approach to the issues of corruption and the part he plays in bringing about a solution.
Indeed to borrow ex-president Kufour's expression, "corruption is as old as history itself" (my own slant), in other words it cannot be rooted out in a single go (and certainly not by a single individual). However that does not mean we should accept it as a fact of life and part and parcel of our being. In countries like Singapore, Korea (South), Japan (and now to some extent even China), it is not tolerated and those found guilty are punished, sometimes severely (including by the death penalty).
Whilst one is not suggesting that we invoke the death penalty for crimes such as corruption in Ghana (unless of course it involves murder), one would hope that it is taken that seriously, and that people of all parties and civil society as well as leadership from government would help us win this fight and minimise corruption.
In countries such as Kenya and Niegia where corruption is endemic, chronic and pervasive, those countries despite their wealth potential continue to struggle in many ways.
The fact that external investors still do business in these countries is simply because (in my view) it is easy for them to come in, take advantage of the loopholes in the system, milk it and take their profit away with the connivance of state officials. God forbid that Ghana our beloved country should go a similar way.
Therefore in my view, re-appointing Martin Amidu is NOT necessarily the answer to President Mahama's problems. It requires a more collective effort, including state institutions, parliament and ordinary Ghanaians playing their part as well as (and perhaps above all) clear, determined, tough and decisive LEADERSHIP from the President.

K. Arthur should concentrate on helping NPP regain power than advising the NDC administration. We don't need his advice. He is just pissing in from the outside. His advice is a way of taking advantage of the outburst of attention-seeking Bagbin, who is obviously peeved for being overlooked for a ministerial post. It is purely gerrymandering borne out of mischief. Have we heard Amidu commenting on judgement debt payment by the erstwhile NPP administration or on the current issue concerning the disposal of the drill ship? If NPP highly rate Martin Amidu, they can offer him a home. We don't need Arthur K's schadenfreude.

Thank you Mr Kennedy for a good suggestion of which I believe left to Mahama alone he can do it, but remember today party in Ghana is not one man's business but many peoples' minds hence with struggles within party for positions I think Mahama's appointment of Amidu will create the normal Ghanaian mentality of anger with questions like where was Amidu when we were compaigning?.
These are reasons why wise people in Ghana will tell you we have a long way to go if it comes to political maturity with all the parties in Ghana.
They all see politics like their personal factories that they have created, and thus never show any genuine concern for mother Ghana.
Even to help you Mr Kennedy to get my point clearer, ask yourself a question, if the party you stand for will in the future agree with with you over certain decisions of which you think your views are the 100 percent to be accepted.
What was the reactions of your party when you honestly were making realistic points of your party in your comments / publications. Did they not start eating you up? That is the madness of politics in the nation.
Happy will I be when this sick character and behavior changes to understanding that we are one people and theredore we need to listen to ourselves and come out with a united good decisions with the support for the right person to do the work.
Again left to Mahama alone Amidu is welcome but do not forget the ''village low mentality drive'' that had caused people to enter into politics with their degrees without even knowing the reason of being politicians or political party supporters.

BUT WITH WHITE SHORTS. IF IN DOUBT, YOU CAN CONTACT OZWALD BOATENG IN THE UK FOR ASSISTANCE. GFA, DONT BE LAZY AND MEDIOCRE.
IF YOU PUT MORE WORK IN AN APPEALING JERSEY/KIT. IT WILL BE REPLICATED IN THE SELLING OF THESE JERSEYS.
TO GH SPORTS MINISTERS
HOW MUCH MONEY WILL GO TO THE WINNER OF THIS YEARS'S LEAGUE? GO TO LEAGUES IN S AFRICA, KENYA, EPL ETC. ALL THE LEAGUE WINNERS RECEIVE MONEY!!!
THIS ALONE IS AN INCENTIVE THAT BREEDS COMPETITION.
I HVE TOLD THESE 2 SPORT MINISTERS TO DO 1 THING BEFORE THEY LEAVE OFFICE. MAKE SURE U USE SOME OF THAT 16.5 BILION TO BUILD AT LEAST 2 40GRAND SEATER STADIUMS, WORLD CLASS WITH TARTAN TRACKS, NUMBERED SEATS, SCOREBOARD ETC. IN 2 REGIONAL CAPITALS IN GH.
U CAN CALL BRASIL OR S AFRICAN SPORTS MINISTERS FOR HELP. YOU HVE NO EXCUSE...WITH THESE MANY STADIUM FACILITIES. GH CAN HOST MORE AFCON MALE N FEMALE TOURNAMENTS. MORE FIFA TOURNAMENTS. THIS WILL BRING IN MORE MONEY, MORE DEVELOPMENT.
OUR FUTURE N CURRENT ATHLETES WILL ALSO HAVE ABUNDANT FACILITIES AT THEIR DISPOSAL....THINK!
MAHAMA IS USELESS! HE IS TELLING YOU ALL TO USE LESS. MAHAMA SAYS ..LET THEM EAT CAKE! IS HE USING LESS WITH ALL THAT 16.5 BILLION? HMM...ECONOMICALLY, GH IS NOW AN AUSTERITY NATION. A WOODEN BONESHAKER TRUCK, GO SLOW ECONOMY.
NDC IN THEIR LAZINESS HAS PUT IN PLACE AN AUSTERITY PROGRAM TO KILL GHPPL.
THEY HAVE INTENTIONALLY DEVALUED THE CEDI. RAISED INTEREST RATES SO YOU AND I CANT CONSUME MORE. BUT BE FORCED TO SPEND LESS, WITH LESS CONSUMPTION.
i caution ndc to look at the national projects their ndc counterparts put in place WHEN THEY WERE IN POWER. WITH LESS MONEY BOROWED, NPP COMMISSIONEDOR STARTED PROJECTS LIKE
STADIUM REHAB/BUILDING, AFCON 2008, SCH FEEDING, FREE SCH UNIFORMS, BUI DAM, ADWEN NGO/OIL FIND, A RETRUCTURED ECONOMY, VALUABLE CURRENCY, STADIUM REHAB, N1 HIGHWAY, TO NAME A FEW!.
ALL IM ASKING NDC TO DO IS REPLICATE WHAT NPP HAVE DONE. WE ALL HAVE EYES AND CAN SEE....
CHIEFS LIKE NANA NKETIA SHOULD ALL RUN FOR POLITICAL POWER/MPS. OTHERWISE, THEY WILL CONTINUE TO BE MIDDLE MEN AND WONT GET WHAT THEY DULY DESERVE FPR THEIR PEOPLE.
KOTOKA MAHAMA: AKA TALK BIG, DO NOTHING...INSTEAD OF STOPPING YOUR INCESSANT BORROWING, AND PAY BACK THE DEBT. THEY ARE ENJOYING AND MAKING YOU AND I SUFFER. MAHAMA SAYS, USE LESS! IS HE USING LESS?
WHY CANT WE BE MORE LIKE SWEDEN N BE LESS CORRUPT? WAT CAN GH GOVT/PPL LEARN FROM THE SWEDES? Among countries with a free press, the percentage of adults who say corruption
is widespread in their government reaches as high as 94% in the Czech Republic and as low as 14% in Sweden. The ranking means that Ghana is now placed third among free press countries
with the highest corruption perceptions worldwide. MY MESSAGE FOR MAHAMA: THE HUMANS IN SWEDEN ARE NO DIFFERENT THAN THOSE IN GH.GO N FIND OUT WHAT THE SWEDES ARE DOING IN THE AREA OF CORRUPTION.
John Mahama must demonstrate his commitment in fighting corruption by reinstating dismissed former Attorney General Martin Amidu.
Nearly one in four American children live in poverty.
fOlks, very soon these foreid aids gh gets from 1st world nations wont be there any more. THIS IS AN EXCERPT FROM AN ARTICLE FROM THE NYTIMES:
A report last year from the National Poverty Center estimated “that the number of households living on $2 or less in income per person per day in a given month increased from about 636,000 in 1996 to about 1.46 million households in early 2011, a percentage growth of 130 percent.”
And yet, the value of aid for those families is shrinking and under threat.

This is indeed a challenge to Mahama who appears to be out of the loop of what the vampires around him are up to.
Mahama must reinstate Amidu and soon too.
Indeed! Such a move will DEMONSTRATE to us that the President really means business! Let's support Mahama AND the President towards this move!
I very much DOUBT IT THOUGH!!!!!!!!!!
That will be politically suicidal for Mahama who was cited in Amidu's disclosure about his deal in the EMBRAER planes purchase for which Mahama was alleged to have bought plane 'steps' for $17M (Dollars). If he'll ever appoin ...

I think the president should consider re-recruiting 'Gen' Amidu. He is an excellent choice and the most qualified person in Ghana now to rein in these corrupt men and women.
HE WILL HAVE "NO BARS HOLD" POLCIY & THAT IS WHAT THE CORRUPT MAHAMA/NDC PARTY/GOVERNMENT IS AFRAID OF!!!!
THEY WOULD BE EXPOSED BIG TIME THAT THEY ARE DEEPLY INVOLVED!!!!
Mahama should call these guys to join his fight against corruption if he really meant business. Please Mr president we want no games. Kwaku Anase games will not be entertained.
Mahama must be impeached for his role in all these cases. He is the worst President in the history of Ghana.
Mahamah call in Amidu now if you truly mean business. Refusing to call Amidu means you are not ready to fight corruption.
