Our sources also disclosed that the wife of the current Minister for Manpower and Employment, Hon. E. T. Mensah, acquired several State Fishing Corporation (SFC) cold stores in Tema. At that time her husband was serving on the body set up by national administration to handle the sale of certain SFC assets. The sources asked: “Who acquired the catering rest houses around the country when the PNDC sold them?”
One of the sources pointed out categorically that: “The NDC cannot win this moral debate… It only makes the NDC look and sound nauseatingly hypocritical.”
They cited the recent judgement pronounced by the Supreme Court on the sale of a state bungalow to Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, which judgement has become the subject of controversy between national administration and the NPP stalwart.

today our country has the notorious reputation of being one of the most corrupt in the world thanks to pepeni and his band of thieves . we told everyone we knew he had no plan or program to develop the nation except pillage the little monies left and yet today the claim that they could not perform because of a petition . look at their ministers who anything more than 3 pages is a challenge to read talk less of projects whose summaries alone can be over 5000 pages , they are so lazy and selfish that nothing good can come from them . their chief ideologist of evil avenoor was killed and i had planned to go to his grave and urinate and relieve myself on him once every month but he cremated himself i guess i will do so instead on rawlings grave soon. workers are on strike because they know this azaa govt has no clue and in this day and age considering the wealth of the nation no one should work for less than 1000 cedis or 500$ but if free education was such a challenge how can they ever fathom such a reality . they are hopeless so we are preparing for our revolution and telling all righteous to sharpen their knives and bury their guns to wait for for the clarion call. they think they have fooled the Akans especially the fantis , a third of their votes came from the fantis but there is not a single substantiate minister who is a true fanti . they wage war against us Akans but when we come our and call foul they say we are liars . we are ready now so let them bring it on . long live the republic of Akan

Corruption is the way it is because our country is pursuing the wrong course.
In a country like ours, you cannot have a minister source for money for any kind of development and expect him not to gain massively. This has been the way things are being done and were being done under Kufuor, Mills and now M'ahama.
As we all can recall under Kufuor, Aladjetey one of the NPP chairmen called out Kufuor for maintaining a bank in his office where monies were frequently dispensed without the required checks and balances. Kufuor was collecting 10% on investments for himself and bragging how he was self made if not self remaking! The problem with corruption in our country is definitely a leadership thing. Some of whom have always believed they were untouchable or answer to no one.
This is why Rawlings should dust up his boots and clean the house once more! Only harsh measures will reconstitute our thinking toward love of country, honest living and not illegal wealth acquisition. Ghana our beloved country has failed.

Repugnant, Are you out of your mind? What made you think that Rawlings would be the right person capable to root out corruption in Ghana?. Have you forgotten that it was under his watch and his administration that a whole ship load of Ghana cocoa export destined for overseas customers got lost on the high sea, even though the ship did arrive at it's destination in one piece. Did Rawlings investigate the loss. He did nothing about it and when Kuffour took office as President, he also made sure that the cocoa scandal was buried forever. Why he decided to bury the scandal could be anybody's guess, "graft and corruption". Repugnant, Rawlings is as equally guilty of corruption as any of the living Presidents.

According to NDC insiders, the top officials who benefitted from these State facilities include the current Vice President, Mr. John Mahama, who acquired his under the same policy Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey benefitted from.
It will be recalled that in the year 1996/7, the Sakumono SSNIT Flats, which had been officially designated as the residence of Members of Parliament of the Republic of Ghana were sold out to the MPs whose terms had just ended. This was done without prior arrangement for incoming MPs, who, for a time, were stranded, in terms of having no official residence to live in.

My friend we don't need this kind of argument which serves as a perfect fertile ground for politicians to continue to be corrupt. Enough of those stupid names (NDC/NPP) haven't they taken advantage of people like you for far too long to bring the country to her present state. We have a problem at hand, 'CORRUPTION'. How best can we get rid of it and move our nation forward? It breaks the hearts of some of us when we find people still caught up in the web of these nation wreckers (NDC/NPP)with their stupid and nothing to make sense of slogans. We have everything to make our lives better collectively, not a few. Please think outside the box you find yourself in (NDC/NPP) and help build the nation.

Hi!! All,
The supporters of the New Patriotic Party and for that matter Ghanaians are now sick and tired of tribal politics. Strong Men like Nana Addo and other Ghanaians who advocated for Democracy didn't know anything and have never talked about tribal politics.
Of late because cheap propaganda driven politics our beloved country is now suffering, and Ghanaians are now suffering than never before. The NDC is doing tribal politics because for them to campaign on issues they can never win elections in this country, no wonder Ghana has been ranked as the third corrupt country in the world under NDC and Mahama led Government.
Anytime I hear a comment about tribal politics, it means Ashantis and Akyems are the subject of discussion. one thing I want Ghanaians to know is tribal politics can not take the country any where, You can cast your minds back to what happened in Rwanda, Liberia, Egypt, Libya, Siere Leon and many more. Politicians because of their selfish interest will be talking about tribalism but we the followers will have to be very very careful because at the end of the day we will suffer. for them they have their visas in their passport already, I am always happy Nana Addo is always not talking about tribalism.
Last week when I arrive from Mexico from a business trip I over head a debate on almost all the Radio stations about a comment made by our former Attorney General and Minister of Justice Mr Ayikoi Ottoo, In fact I have not been able to go for the tape so as to be able to have a first hand information about the so called attack on the NPP leadership and for that matter the ashanti/Akyem support for NPP. Majority of Ashantis in reality are supporters of the NPP simply because they belong to the UP tradition so they will always identify themselves with NPP.
According to the information Lawyer Ayikoi Ottoo is urging the party to sideline the Ashantis and the Akyems in the Coming congress so the question is why this statement? To him he believe if this two tribes are sidelined other tribes will then join NPP and it will help the party in no small way in 2016. How? he believe NPP won only in two regions the Ashanti region and the eastern region but there is the need to win more regions if the party can come to power hence the need to sideline the Ashantis. Oh Mr Ottoo, Even though NPP won in two regions lets look at the gap between the NPP and NDC, just forget about the massive electoral malpractices which our supreme court is saying is good for mother Ghana.
NDC 5574761 50.70% from 8 Regions,
NPP 5248898 47.74% from 2 regions,
So Ayikoi Ottoo what is the logic in you argument? Instead of thinking about how to match the NDC Boot for Boot in 2016, look at what you are also putting across.
The current leadership of the party is only Sir John the Party's general secretary who is an Ashanti. do your investigations and see the rest they are all not Ashantis so where from your headache? Please Mr Ayikoi Ottoo Tribal politics will not help the party. What made me amaze is you want to contest for the Party's chairmanship and is this your campaign message? You are making a mistake because when the Ashantis are sidelined it means we are sidelining our world bank and in that case the party cannot come to power.
I will therefore urge all NPP supporters to reject the Chairmanship of someone who want us to reject our loyal supporters with the hope that we will get new supporters from other regions. we will maintain Nana but lets reject Ayikoi Ottoo.

At least, if we can all converge at this point, then we would be half way heading towards finding a lasting solution to our problems.
Corruption will only be handled and managed (notice the word managed) if the institutions that should be fighting it, such as, the police, the courts, the media, the various commissions and agencies are strong, independent and focused to stem this canker.
There should be a call to make the appointment of the IGP independent and with a non partisan commission to monitor him and his institution.
The politicians should focus on governance and leave the micro management of the nation to the various institutions.
There's a saying, give me ten focused men and I will change the world.
Ghanaians must try and live up to the very standards and dreams they wish for our dear nation. Without a monitoring, above partisan, patriotic citizenry, even Jesus would have to take a whip to address corruption in Ghana, from lateness to embezzlement.
God help us and may he bless us.

It is very amazing to me how as a nation we pretend corruption is only in politics and it is only the president who can fight corruption.
How many of you will be willing to resist to pay bribe to a policeman(i refuse to call them police officers because most of them do not behave as such)Refuse to pay a bribe to renew our license? by this we have all encouraged the cancer call corruption. Our church leaders are themselves corrupt. People are living a lifestyle way beyond their means .A Ghanaian WHO EARNS GHC 1000/month owns three cars , the virtues guy who worked all his life with nothing is called a fool because he could not use his position to acquire wealth. After all these we behave like everyone else is a saint and the political government is evil.
The only responsibility and effort the govt can implement is to ensure the law works well and takes it course to ensure rule of law but wait a minute who are those to enforce it ? the same evil, corrupt policemen and lawyers. So I will advise Ms Georgina Wood to look at her back yard first and clean the place then the government's effort will not be in vain.

Ghana is a democratic nation. What is the Role of the Judiciary arms of gov't.
What is the purpose of the Police Force , BNI and all the securities agencies inclusive the Chief Justice waiting.
When crimes are committed , is the responsibility of the executive arm of government - The President or Vice President to warrant an arrest and prosecute the culprits involved or the above Two individuals ?
For example in GYEEDA REPORT AND NUMEROUS OF CORRUPTION CASES WHAT IS THE SECURITIES FORCES MANDATED BY ACTS OF PARLIAMENT WAITING FOR ?
WHY DON'T THEY INVESTIGATE AND LAY CHARGES RATHER ALL THE TIME BLAMING THE PRESIDENT(S)
IN ALL DEMOCRATIC COUNTRIES THERE'S TOTAL SEPARATION OF POWERS BETWEEEN THE EXECUTIVE , JUDICIARY & EXECUTIVE ARMS OF GOV'T.
DEAR COLLEAGUE Paul Collins Appiah-Ofori, put the blame on our security agencies & the Judiciary arm of governments , they must investigate , & where appropriate charges be laid laid & brought before our courts.

My friend democracy in Ghana is relative, it has never been realistic. Albeit the agencies whose roles you have been questioning are always headed by officials appointed by who ever is in power or the government of the day and can be easily removed or manipulated. Even supreme court justices are not exempt. Where as in advanced democracies the checks and balances are almost independent and are indelible, but in our quasi democracy it is ephemeral depending on the exploited situation. Let's face it, there is also that so called winner takes all, which is a subtle self imposed dictatorship. We are not there yet!

Nkrumah never fought corruption. There is no evidence of this. Nkrumah himself was aware of the corruption in his govt but he did nothing. His ministers amassed wealth and that was the genesis of corruption in public life. If Nkrumah had fought corruption from the very onset, it would not have become endemic today. Corruption in public life under the colonial masters was negligible but enter Nkrumah's govt with black men at the helm of affairs it became a different ball game.
Appiah Ofori is an apology of a politician for he is never truthful. Appiah Ofori never proved even one case of corruption against Kufuor's govt, apart from accusing his fellow NPP MPs of collecting five thousand dollars each from Vodaphone which he was never able to prove.
Appiah Ofori has never forgiven Kufuor and still feels embittered that he was overlooked for a ministerial appointment. Kufuor's govt can be credited with a number of laws including the procurement act that go to show that he did something about corruption.

Appiah-Ofori, you are totally wrong. Nkrumah himself was corrupt by dishing out 10,000,000.00 pounds sterling each to Guinea and Mali without parliament approval when both countries attained Independence from France to consolidate their infant independence as it was a fact that France was not prepared to help them in anyway after their independence. Beside that, in Nkrumah's one party state government, he instituted a 10% levy on contractors who were awarded a contract by the government to pay such 10% levy into the (CPP)party's coffers. Is that not the beginning of corruption from the man - Nkrumah you are exempting from such economic vices?
Corruption was rampant in Nkrumah's era that was why the then Minister of Finance, Mr. K.A. Gbedemah was able to make away with valuable Gold Bars meant for Madam Fathia Nkrumah's foreign account and later came to Ghana after Nkrumah's overthrown to form his National Alliance of Liberals (NAL)Party which lost to Premier, K.A. Busia's Progress Party (PP) in the Second Republic. Did you ever heard of Krobo Edusei - a Minister in Nkrumah's government saying " There is a vast distance between himself and poverty" before? Appiah-Ofori, it not necessary to mention Kufuor`s name in this picture even though you hate the man, his era is come and gone. Ghanaians including you with respect to democracy have voted for Mahama to successful do the job so leave Kufuor alone. The overwhelm hatred among you is one of the nation`s setback. How much did Nkrumah fought corruption to your knowledge. Instead, the Nsawam detention was built to torture and murder his political rivals. Let me tell you, may be you wasn`t born yet, worker brigade was one of the most corrupted and useless organization Nkrumah established in the nation therefore is time to stop this nonsense and look for a leader who can portray quintessential leadership.

Talk is cheap, especially in an era of mushroom radio and television stations manned by untrained JSS graduates. What did Appiah-Ofori do as an MP, either in his constituency or in parliament to fight corruption. Is there any bill on record in his name to that effect. It is not the sole responsibility of the presidents to fight corruption. Everyone, including MPs and the not-too honorable, must be seen to be fighting corruption. Empty barrel.
