Those stupid northerners should know that all the NPP needs from you is your vote and if you have some skills they may need. So in your presence they will pretend you are a valued member. But turn your back and you would be shocked to death if you heard the insults on northerners.

I know that because of local issues some people are compelled to vote for NPP so as to prevent their adversaries from getting power. But I think the best solution is to vote for any other party besides NPP. It just makes sense not to give power to your oppressor. Don't you agree, Anali?

Because you see elections as a perfect opportunity to punish Asantes, knowing very well that NPP is a political party but not a tribe. Unlike Northerners, whenever an Asante discusses politics, the first issues he argues about are competence, achievements and standard of living.

Others will always treat you based on the way you see yourself. I'm sorry to say this but in all sincerity, northerners have proven to be politically immature. Why would any clever mind believe that Aliu was rejected by NPP because he was a northerner, when it is common knowledge that Aliu never had any ambition to become president but that Akufo-Addo had nurtured such ambitions for many years and built his support base in the party? He even contested Kufuor in the 1998 primaries of the NPP. Furthermore, why would Aliu campaign for Akufo-Addo and the NPP he was given a raw deal? Is that not insulting on the integrity of the man who happens to be your northern brother as that ethnic propaganda implies that Aliu had no mind of his own.

In any case who would have known Aliu if Kufuor had not chosen him as his vice? In 2000, the NDC told many northerners in Ashanti Region that if NPP is voted into power they would send all northerners back to the north. Can you believe that? Is it not insulting to northerners for any party to tell you that? It means they take you for fools. Imagine the NPP telling Akans in Accra that Gas will chase them back to where they migrated from. Surely Asantes and Akans will feel insulted by such propaganda.

You can hate Asantes for all the silly reasons but which tribe in Ghana doesn't suffer insults? Maybe you northerners can't ignore those insults because the insults perfectly fits you, what about that? You guys should do a thorough soul searching instead of always acting as if you have been oppressed and deprived by Asantes? Maybe when you do that you will realize that Asantes don't hate you or any other tribe.

However, in the case of Alhaji Ramadan (PNC Chairman), his father trekked across the border using unapproved routes when the Alhaji was a toddler strapped to his mother's back. His father's cattle destroyed a lot of farm crops along the way. And as the young Ramadan grew up in the bush he engaged in a few rapes of local women .

In all human settlements the group that always feel inferior are the ones that live in abject poverty and misery. Nobody has taken and used you as slaves but if you see yourselves as such so be it. Nobody cannot help you. Mahama becoming president has not and will not change the fortunes and destiny of northerners. Limann was overthrown by Rawlings but the NPP doesn't use it as a tribal propaganda because they are more sincere and believe Limann was just a victim by coincidence and not because of his tribe. Learn to think deeper instead of believing every propaganda.
