So glad that ActionAid did not mention fertilizer subsidies. Thank you for letting the market do its work and government spend its limited resources on something more sustainable!

So glad that ActionAid did not mention fertilizer subsidies. Thank you for letting the market do its work and government spend its limited resources on something more sustainable!

The only part that should have been added is a request to disband NAFCO! While decentralizing bufferstock warehousing is a good first step, the current buffer stock system hurts farmers by distorting the market. It changes the way farmers and businessmen make decisions and elevates prices to the advantage of those with connections to government. We need to change NAFCO management and get some real economists to run it that will ensure agric sector growth!
