The chicken of Ghanaian Asshanti EVIL Kofi Busia's ACO, has come home to roost at last and we are now witnessing the consequences of the EVIL acts of 'BLACK ON BLACK DISCRIMINATION' started by Ghanaians Asshanties in the 60s by 'DISCRIMINATING' against their fellow Africans and 'VIOLENTLY' deported them from Ghana, (and STOLE their money and properties, and shared them amongst themselves).
Ghanaians Asshanties have sowed the seed of 'MISTRUST' amongst Africans, and some of you are now reaping the 'FRUITS' of your 'WICKED AND XENOPHOBIC' by your fore parents. The chickens of their EVIL ACTS have come home to roost at last. Africa is in chaos and disunity today, thanks to the EVIL Asshanties ACO order. Ghanaians should cover their face in shame for starting the wicked act of discrimination and xenophobia on the soil of mama Africa.

@ Yaw Adu Asare, your observation was well noted, however, the mere existence of the OAU and later AU for the past half century, should have eliminated this red tape and crass discrimination. Every citizen of the EU, which doesn't have a unified government just as the AU enjoys free and uncumbersome travel and settlement anywhere in the EU. Even under the Schengen accord, residents of the signatory countries including visa holders enjoy free travel between these countries. Me think we don't need a unified African Government, simply because we are too diverse, but we can model the AU on EU, where nations still retain certain sensitive and national authority. This report by Komla just goes to reveal the level of discrimination of Africans by Africans, but if the west did the same to us in the diaspora, we shout racism.

This situation will not change soon. This is because Africa government is run for African politicians and the officials who service them. These people provide "courtesies"to one another across the continent, so when they travel across Africa on delegations to conferences,m they do nit experience any if the difficulties other African travelers feel. And being self-centred and insensitive to the sufferings of others, they do not care to change the system to benefit the generality if the African population. We shall cry to the high heavens, but they will still treat us like dirt.
Trade? Who cares> The politicians and their officials steal from government coffers and can afford to shop in Europe and America. What do they want with "inferior"goods produced in Africa?

'Kwasea ani te a na agro agu' That is an Akan adage....meaning, when the fool eyes get opened to reality that means the end of the ' game'. African laeder should learn and understand the 'economic game' and how to play it. Unfortunately the black man, I mean the laeders of the African continent blatantly ' refuse' to learn how to play the economic game of life. Those leaders who learned it and tried to apply it in their various countries were overthrowned and later 'killed' eg... the master politician of Ghana...Osagyefo Dr. Kwame 'Kro Ba' Nkrumah. To me Dr. Nkrumah was a politcal 'messiah' not only to Ghana but to the Continent...' the independence of Ghana is meaningless until it linked to liberation of the African continent'. Again to me when the late President Dr. John Atta- Mills tried to invoke some ' mantras' from Nkrumah, he was 'killed' Any leader who tries to revisit the economic plan of Nkrumah will be eliminated...hence all leaders are there as tituler heads... meaning someone somewhere ruling through them....same throughout the continent. They do not come to 'sacrify' their lifes for their the various electorates of their countries. Only God can solve this problem...by selecting 'Virgin Marys' to give births to fearless 'Christ Jesuses' to become leaders of the continent. To me this is a spiritual problem. Why should the name of a particular party....C.P.P. be banned for years..why is that there is 'confusion' in the CPP camp. Why did Dr. Adu Boahen tried to rewrite the Ghanaian history eliminating the prowess of Dr. Nkrumah. Flt Lt. Rawling started well and was warned, fliped and became toothless bull and ruled nearly a generation....hence young Ghanaians know Rawlings plus Kuffour minus Dr.Atta-Mills, plus Mr. John Mahama. The Chistian Bible and Islamic Koran is there for reference to redirect devotees. Where is the 'Bible...Koran' of the continent...zero..vane promises like Akuffo Addo trying to steal Nhrumah's mantra...free education..Ghana dose not need free education. With the real free education, there is over production of manpower. The continent's problem, with special reference to Ghana is 'domestication'....operation feed yourself by Genaral Acheampong..economic development plan..extracts from that of Nkrumah. How come that there is interruption of the flow of electric power..to the point that Ghanaians can not enjoy watching common football at thier leisure hours in their various homes. I have lived twenty years of my life in the United States of America and I can attest to the fact that, not a day that electric power was off for more the fifteen minutes on a normal day. Leader should conscientise the electorates to consume locally produced items. A typical example is when Lever Brothers' Company changed palm oil to 'Frytol'.Here lies the fear.

The difference between "an African" carrying a European passport and that of an African country is huge in Africa!!! Along with the mentality of immigration officials and their attitude towards the individual. In August 2001 I travelled to Kenya to run a training workshop in Mombassa. Among my entourage was a blond secretary from Bosnia Herzegovina who did not have UK residency but I did.
At Nairobi airport, I (along with other Africans including Ugandan i.e. East African nationals) was kept waiting and talked to rudely by AIRLINE (not immigration) officials at the point of boarding whilst my secretary was allowed to pass through (along with many other European tourists)was allowed through. The saddest part was a man holding a KENYAN passport whose children were carrying BRITISH passports. He was held back whilst his children were being allowed through despite his protestations about needing to accompany these minors. How very strange!!!
As for the matter of travel within Africa, once again I think I ought to remind readers that this is a chronic problem identified and written about by Kwame Nkrumah (in Africa Must Unite, Panaf Books, 1963).
It was one of the reasons Nkrumah muted the idea of a "Pan-African Highway" to link countries north, south, east and west; and also his passion for African Unity overall and 'loosening our borders' to allow ease of travel and business, transport and communications.
I add my voice to those who are asking Komla Dumor to feature this topic on Focus on Africa on the BBC. It would be useful to invite people who have some of his own experiences and ideas to share and to highlight an age-old problem which is made even worse now in the 21st Century.
As Europe 'closes its borders to foreigners' and especially Africans, leading to 'desperate measures' including dangerous and fatal boat trips, we treat our fellow Africans with disdain whilst allowing so-called foreigners of African descent (some of whom we are now discovering have terrorist tendencies, carrying European and other passports) whilst discriminating against genuine, well-meaning and credible fellow Africans.
The national authorities, immigration and airline officials need to be trained among other things, to know the difference between genuine and non-genuine travellers, and to treat all persons EQUALLY if they want to apply the law. It is as simple as that. But to treat some people nicely and be rude and rough towards others only debases us as a people.
Even travelling along the ECOWAS region by road is a nightmare for many people especially traders and other ordinary citizens
Komla may not have experienced some of the nasty side of border crossing along the Lome-Cotonou-Abomey-Nigerian borders or entering La Cote d'Ivoire via Elubo where 'check points' are mounted along the way simply to extort from poor traders and ordinary citizens simply going about their normal business. That low-down dishonest and corrupt practice is regarded as normal and try complaining and the 'senior officials' will DOUBLE the amount you have to pay just to be allowed through. I also speak from personal experience which made me to vow NEVER to travel by road along the ECOWAS region again.
The long and short of it is that this is not a new problem and the plight of the African traveller is not only terrible going abroad to Europe and elsewhere outside the continent, but your treatment by 'fellow Africans' could, and is often even worse.
Is this the plight of the 'black man'? I see completely what Kwame Nkrumah's ideas and philosophy for African Unity and improving our transport and communication systems came from. If only we ordinary Africans and leader would listen and act.
It is never too late however today, they will have an even better excuse for not letting that happen - "we are dealing with terrorists"!!! That is a topic for another day I guess!!
By the way the Rwandans continue to teach us all a lesson but are we paying any attention?

TO CROSS FROM AFLOA TO LOME, I HAVE TO PASS THROUGH FOUR DIFFERENT PERSONEL ON THE LOME SIDE. AFTER THE GHANA IMMIGRATION FORMALITIES, THERE IS AN INDIVIDUAL WHO "INSPECTS" THE PASSPORT AND ASKS FOR A THOUSAND CFA FRANCS. THERE IS NO OPTION TO SAY NO AS YOU WON'T GET PASS HIM. HE HAS A BUCKET INTO WHICH THE MONEY IS OPENLY PLACED. YOU THEN GO TO GET THE PASSPORT STAMPED AND HAVE TO PAY ANOTHER ONE THOUSAND FRANCS. THEN SOMEONE JUST NEXT TO HIM INSPECTS IT. FROM THERE YOU ARE STOPPED BY SO CALLED SECURITY, IN WHAT THEY CALL A SECURITY ZONE TO CHECK YOUR BAG. HERE TOO YOU HAVE TO PAY ONE THOUSAND. ON THE WAY BACK THE PROCESS IS REVERSED. MY COLLEAGUE AND I REFUSED TO PAY ONE OF THE REQUESTED ONE THOUSAND FRANCS ON THE WAY BACK AND HAD A REALLY UNPLEASANT SURPRISE. AS WE TURNED AWAY FROM THE SO CALLED SECURITY GUY TO MOVE, ABOUT SIX ABLE BODIED MEN SURROUNDED US AND REQUESTED THAT WE GO BACK AND SETTLE THE SECURITY MAN. THIS WAS IN THE FULL GLARE OF THE PUBLIC. WE TRIED TO PUSH PAST THEM BUT DECIDED NOT TO RISK IT AND HAD TO PAY THE MONEY. I DON'T KNOW IF PEOPLE FROM THE TOGO SIDE GO THROUGH THE SAME PROBLEM. WHAT A SCREAMING SHAME. HOW CAN AFRICA DEVELOP WITH SUCH TERRIBLE ATTITUDES. WHEN I GO TO EUROPE I DON'T HAVE ANY HASSLE.OH GOD HOW I HATE GOING TO LOME!
