It is very sickening to hear all these allegations against president Mahama and his NDC government. I believe these allegations are not true. Because if these allegations are true, we would all rise up, or have at least one patriot, one dedicated Ghanaian, one Gen. Amidu to rise up and challenge president Mahama for causing all these grievous finanacial destruction to our beloved Ghana. I believe this is a hoax otherwise, how can a country like Ghana with such intelligent people surrender our hopes, our lives, and that of our children to one man and his few hench men to toy with, and not a single Messiah could stand up and fight for the country. This means that the tax revenue from business that should have being booming would not be available. This because less income from the business due to slow economic stimulation activities due to less government flow of funds. And therefore inadequate available funds on the bonds when they are due to pay on the bonds issued as a form loans taken from the BOG. It means that the mechanism of economic stimulation is not working and would not work. Please fool do not come and display your ignorance here. The workers of Ghana will not be sacrificed for the recklessness of the Mahama led administration. This administration has demonstrated that they can get the monet to spend when it matters them. One does not forget the recent increase in bonus for the national team. They have their priority and I think workers wefare is not part of their priority.
One has not forgotten the long haul of the Ghana Medical Association standoff with the government. Eventually, government had to find the money to meet their expectation.
Politicians claim they want to serve the state but immediately they take up position, the servant role turns into master role.
Workers should not be allowed to be sacrificed anymore because the politician of today is not truthful.
My caution to the leadership of the TUC is not to allow themselves to be bought by government because of their attitude of reckless spending. They can do it to achieve their goal to break the workers front.
We need to stage the TUC strength we have known in the times of Comarade Adu Amankwah and the rest.
We cant continue to remain poor for the sake of the politician.

The US economy is more robust and diverse. In Ghana, if gold and cocoa prices go down, the economy and government suffers (and it's starting to suffer now.)

I would suggest that you just look at the facts.

The cedi is dropping like a rock. (Only Lesotho's currency is doing worse on the continent.)

Budget deficits are going up.

Single Spine is killing the economy...It has already crossed 82% of the domestic revenue collection goes back into paying just wages. (If you look at the US, the number is under 12.9% !)

The debt is increasing.

And the most concerning thing is there seems not to be a plan to get Ghana out of this mess !!!

Ghana's potential to accelerate in development to a proper middle income and beyond is held back by poor infrastructure. We are at a threshold of massive transformation of our economy and wellbeing. Our vision of a liberated wealthy nation can only happen when we get our infrastructure right. We at the moment are not generating enough revenue, internally, to expand infrastructure. What we can only do is to borrow and get the infrastructure in place. Lets take a walk on what needs to be done:

1. To industrialize and bring stability to doing business in the manufacturing sector, we need stable available energy. To do this, we need to triple our current energy generation to about 7000mw. This will attract investors and we could see new industries springing up and creating jobs for the many unemployed graduates and hands.

2. We an educated trainable labour force. It is only through education that this is possible. There is massive deficit in educational infrastructure at all levels. With over 70% of government revenue spent on salaries that are even said to be inadequate to take people home, we can only borrow to augment the 30-% left for infrastructure such as school buildings and other infrastructure.

3. Maternal mortality is still high, and as a society, it is dehumanizing to see women die out of performing their natural duty - childbirth. To forestall this challenge, we need to construct clinics, hospitals and other allied health infrastructure and train people to ma these infrastructure to ensure that lives are saved. Where do we get the funds unless we borrow.

What we should be focusing on is the utilization of the resources we borrow and the cut back of waste in the system. For instance, we all can attest to the fact that civil society's focus on the Ghana Gas Project is seeing government diligently utilize part of the US$3bn from the CDB to construct that gas project in Western Region. We are told that project alone can pay off the US$3bn loan. We expect civil soceity to do same with other loans that are contracted, especially the recent US$1bn Eurobond that government contracted. Instead of make noise that we are borrowing, let us make sure that successive governments don't come to borrow to solve the same problems that we cface today
