Caution: the strikers must know that they will not receive pay/salaries for the days absent. Right?

NO GOVERNMENT IN GHANA CAN DO THAT NOW. IF THE GOVERNMENT CAN CLEAN ITS OWN HOUSE THEN THIS CAN BE IMPLEMENTED. REMEMBER THE OLD ADAGE "YOU SHOULD FIRST LEARN HOW TO OBEY BEFORE YOU ARE ABLE TO COMMAND"

There are certain ways rather than striking to make their demands meet. All those strikes, what if the government decides to cut jobs then what? In some of them minds, they are trying to make the government unpopular but they're not thinking about others. Because the government can decide that it has no money to meet all of their demands and start laying off. If that happens, who do you think it will be affected?

I believe People like Jeff should not contribute to these discussions. Are you saying it is only in Ghana that we have civil servants? Do you know that no govt can succeed without the support of the civil service and that is why civil servants serve every govt? Go to Kenya and see how civil servants are respected and well motivated such that researchers and university dons are joining the service. AULTA CONTINUA till we are listened to.

By the constitiution every worker can resort strike or withdraw his/her services. The worker must realised that the moment you withdraw your service then you forgo your pay. You are paid for the work you do so if you do not go to work the employer is not obliged to pay you. Even in the advanced countries the employer does not pay the salaries/wages of the workers on strike.therefore the government does not have to pay workers on strike. The workers have to know that there is price to pay for every action. It is their right to go on strike for redress. If they withdraw their services then the employer/government has the right to withdraw the pay. You should not expect the employer/government to borrow money from the bank to pay you. Employers/government allow the employee to exercise their but employers should exercise their right. Does the constitiution say that the employer has to pay the employee for as long as he/she is on strike? Please edugate me on this. The best way to resolve dispute is by talking not by strike
