All of you have kept mute while receiving thousands of dollars every four years. How many of you have come out to speak against such greasy palming for no work done while some children are schooling under trees?
The list is endless and we have people parading themselves as leader and well educated elite whose prowess of the Queen's language, will force Asantehene to remove his "Ahenema sandals".

Nkrumah was looking on AFRICA as a whole, but not focusing his attention on Ghana,as a leader, wholeheartedly.
I am not against his attention on AFRICA,but he had to know,GHANA also needed him to straighten up things for her.
As touching industrialization in AFRICA,NKRUMAH stands tall,no doubt, anyway. But what was left to him to entail, from his pay masters, was huge, with respect to NATURAL RESOURCES.
Therefore,he could also, have done more than what he ever did,for NINE SOLID YEARS,should he wanted to.

In any case why did those leaders who succeeded him not build on what Nkrumah had started? Why were projects like the Bui dam, Barikese dam, Tarkwa gold refinery all abandoned and the industries like the Saltpond Ceramics factory, Prefab factory, Essiama Oil Mills,Tomato processing factories in the North, Vea, Tono and other irrigation projects, Juapong Jute factory, Kade Match factory, Takoradi Paper Conversion Company, State Farms and Black Star line all closed down?
At least Nkrumah realised Ghana's potential and tried to exploit our rich resources through a good education system, industrialisation, provision of energy through Akosombo dam, Tema Harbour, research centres, good health care etc This is exactly what Dr. Kwabena Donkor is asking for from our leaders.

DON'T WE GET IT!!!! The colonialist education system we have had and have in place, stems analytical thinking to progress. It is not only about our leaders......leaders are not hatched sir! They come through the formative years of the same colonialists education system which does everything for us via someone else's experiences.
Our so-called ‘Education’ system is deeply-rooted in the concept of reading a book (in someone else’s language), memorizing it again, again and again, regurgitating it out of the ‘memory box’ (that is, if one has one) unto an exam paper, get good grades and eventually attain a degree/masters and forget everything after the process.
Another sequence for this kind of education system is called – ‘chew’, ‘pour’, ‘pass’ and ‘forget’ – which gives no room for any form of analytical thinking by stimulating our COMMON SENSE to make things happen.
We have therefore, in the process. produced millions upon millions of educated illiterates for decades..... who can't do anything positive for our nation.
To conclude, educated illiterates are intellectually lazy!! PERIOD!
The only exceptions of true leadership with vision, that Ghana have had the opportunity to be ruled by are Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and Kutu Acheampong.
GOD BLESS GHANA!
AFRICAN FOREVER!

Few others have both.etc etc etc.
What I'm trying to say is Common Sense is purely by inheritance and not from any book anywhere under the Sun.So I do not agree with you. It's not our Education system that is producing Visionless, lack of improvements, and lacks of plans or ways forward leadership or CEO's.Therefore it all boils down to a good balance of intuitive Sense and reason of the person who is the leader or the head.

Talked like the true communist he is. Doktor Donkor, governments don't create good jobs ANYWHERE. You doubt it? look at GYEEDA! All what governments do is spend money. But good govts know that raising taxes like we have done at the ports always BACKFIRE.
You academics are the poorest leaders...Just look how "well" run Legon, KNUST, UCC, GIMPA and others are. For almost all infrastructural needs they ran to the govt or raise school fees...just like ECG, VRA and the like.
But when they mount a lectern to lecture, it is like "give us the power and you will see". But academics are interspersed in EVERY gov't. Just enumerate the number of "doktors" in Mahama's gov't.

You Politician's lack creativity, you think having all the Degrees is the end of the world
The Entrepreneurs are the Back-Bone of every Country. They have the ability to create values instead of looking for them to give them the Capital to do the work, you get jealous and look the other way.
For example the Guy called Kwaku Safoh at Christo Asafo Church. He can let the economy grow by his inventions he need the fund to grow his enterprise and nobody is paying any attention to him.
If you guys have any brain in your heads, you will set up an IDEA RESEARCH FUND, and campaign for people to submit their ideas and seek the interested ones and help fund them so the economy could grow and people will get jobs to do, and stop looking up to the Westerners and the Asians for help. Thus how they did it and so can we.
The Ghanaians are a very smart people but the leaders are Crooks not lazy.

Until we discern to decide, the rough plateau we are descending from,we would not know the risk we are taking.
Ghana has to hate EGYPT BEFORE SHE CAN ENTER CANNAN.
Until we decide where we would rather, like to be,where we are is where we would ever be,
What(the problem)we fail to complain, address, solve, will remain unsolved, compound, increase, until it becomes so huge that it explodes, like a dynamite,to change and rearrange things,to our detriment.
I think,DR.KWABENA DONKOR,IS DAMN RIGHT,in his assertion.
Ghanaian politicians are UNPATRIOTIC,SELFISH,IGNORANT,NAIVE,UNCARING,NOT DISCERNING AND LACK OF CREATIVITY.
It is painful, our youth are not being trained to acquire the skills tailored to creating jobs.We need millions of skilled youth to tackle GOLD,DIAMOND,COCOA,BAUXITE,OIL PROCESSING.But even our OIL INDUSTRY IS MANNED BY FOREIGNERS,FOR LACK OF SKILLS,NEEDED TO ADDRESS IT,BY GHANAIANS.
That is a perfect example.
Our leaders have to rise up,to use their brains so our huge problems could be dealt with.
Else,we go nowhere.

Vision is overrated in the context of Ghana's politics. We all have practically the same vision for Ghana irrespective of political colors and affiliations etc. Even a MADMAN has vision!
What is needed is application and ability to be up and doing -executing tasks in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner. It is by doing that you all eat. You go to work do what is tasked (effectiveness and timeliness off course varies as does the quality of output)and then get paid for it either in the form of wages or in produce or services that you sell or paid for.
Ghana's problem is that the vast majority of those seeking political power, especially the young up and comers, have yet to achieve anything worthwhile in their own personal or professional lives and thus have no or little experience in "doing". Thus talking is substituted for action because they do no know or don't have the skills or experience to "execute" the required tasks in a timely, efficient and effective manner.
As the Englishman would say, "They are still wet behind the ears". That is if one is charitable. In most cases our politicians are out of their depth when confronted with issues and problems. Analysis of he issues are week, the preferred solutions are often warmed over failed initiatives from the past and managerial skills are totally lacking.

The MP is absolutely right. Ghana's as well as all African political leaders are lazy and woefully lack vision and a sense of pride and self-esteem. With competent leaders Ghana should have been competing with South Korea, Singapore or Malaysia by now. African leaders, in the image of their people, always prefer the easy, lazy way: reliance on aid, even from lesser endowed Overseas countries. Japan is offering food aid (rice) to Togo. Not long after the tsunami and the Fukushima nuclear disaster, Ghana proudly announced it got aid or loan from Japan! People from Alavanyo are experts in gun manufacturing. During InduTech in Accra in 1986, the displayed some of their products that easily rivaled the weapons used by the Ghana Police. Visionary leaders could have licensed the native industrialists, commissioned the KNUST to engage in reverse engineering and help Alavanyo artisan Gun production into a full-fledged industry that could, in a first stage, supply equipment to the police in the sub-region and, why not, to the rest of the continent. Instead, for fear of inter-ethnic clashes and arm robbery, the successive governments forced the Alavanyo gun manufacturing into underground. Still the government is taking loans from foreign countries to purchase foreign made weapons for the police and army.
What amazes me is once they get themselves into the government machinery or any leadership position, most educated Africans throw away their thinking caps and become literally subservient to their former foreign classmates. They simply lack the requisite human factor to become real leaders and turn themselves and their countries into beggars.

Doc, wrong choice of words. This is a very incorrect political statement. If you have an idea with your class, you do not insult people before you bring it out. Your language had some elements of impunity with a preamble voice. My guess is that you were forced into politics for you to make such statements. This is not diametrical to normal politician to turn around and call your colleagues as cloying fools. A man in your class should leave such aspersions and taunting to non politicians.
What have you done with your PhD to contribute towards the country's development. Instead of extending your knowledge base to the young, you rather went into politics to enrich yourself. Who is more intellectually deficient?. I think you are the worse one amongst peers in parliament. This kind of pyroclastic explosion cast waxed nostalgic or preamble questions on how you get where you are now.

Member of Parliament for Pru in the Brong Ahafo region Dr. Kwabena Donkor is blaming the poor state of the Ghana’s economy on what he calls intellectual laziness on the part of our leaders.
I am surprised about this statement above which is attributed to the so called Dr Kwabena Donkor. I want to ask some questions:1)Are you a member of Parliament for Pru? Are you teaching at the School of mines? What are your development plans for Pru? Which extra work are you doing there apart from depending on Government allocations? Were you also among those who cried for MPs common fund when the government delayed? I think it is highly ridiculous on your part to speak like that. You are also one of the leaders of your constituency and a member of parliament. It seems you lack knowledge about your role as MP. I want to say that you are highly intellectually ignorant about your leadership roles as MP. Can you ask some one to lecture you? If Ghana is sitting on iron ore in the North and Kyebi, and you are dealing with the School of minds, it would be better that you take some initiatives. We cannot see any impact you are making in these areas. It would make sense o Ghanaians if you start doing something before making noise. It seems to me that you are rather transferring your laziness to other members on leadership positions. I am still thinking about how blind you are towards your own intellectual laziness, academic visionless and personal unproductive nature. This is the time for you to do something. How many people are you helping in your constituency with the MP common fund? How many are you sponsoring in Schools? How many did you put under trade? How many did you sponsor to trade with a seed money from the common fund? You claim complete autonomy over the fund as it is your own. The few people you may claim to help belong to your families. Some are your friends. And you want to talk. Remove the Log from your own eyes to enable you see a piece of wood in others eyes. It doesn't mean that when everybody is speaking, then you can also come in with this which is rather directed to you. Be wise next time.

The man is not espousing any big or even small ideas about something he wants to do, for example, a plan for water treatment and modern sewage disposal, road and communication improvement or dealing with any one of the numerous problems facing the country.
