NDC only renders the poor poorer by robbing them even of the little that they have by asking them to pay high taxes and tariffs to pay for their stolen wealth and brainwashing them through propaganda under their false social democratic claims that "they care for the the poor" . The 8 yr rule of the NPP however saw unprecedented pro poor welfare interventions for the ordinary Ghanians like mass transport,health insurance, affordable housing,school feeding, development of hydro generated electricity like Bui to make electricity cheaper for the poor instead of using crude oil for the generation of electricity. Even under the roads sector NPP in 8years built and also initiated roads more than all the governments put together since independence, check with Ghana Highways.if after 24years rule of NDC, Ghana is where it is then what is the use of the party called NDC? it is only usefull to its leadership but not to the masses. The overall effect is that the NPP thinks about the welfare of the poor like the welfare states of western Europe which believes in the the improvements in the living standards of all under equal rights and opportunity for all than the so called false "social democrats" who only under the "Animal Farm" philosophy cares for only the leadership of the NDC party like most of the failed former Eastern European countries.

Are these guys talking about "31st Development Womens Movement" buying Nsawam Cannery. If I were President, and my wife was head of a very efficient womens movement, and the movement deicdes to buy a dead state agency and redevelope it to empower our dear women, I'll support her 100%.

Is it not better than Jake buying his state bungalow? Or KT Hammond and co. buying state land for $10,000? Or Kuffour buying a hotel for his son? Or Kuffours Speaker cleaning his state house of everything after leaving office?

Give me a break. Rawlings is the cleanest, after Mills on corruption. Take it or leave it. E.A. AGBODO, MR. KWAME PEPRAH AND NANA KONADU AGYEMANG-RAWLINGS ACTED TOGETHER TO FRAUDULENTLY CAUSE THE GOVERNMENT OF GHANA TO MAKE SUBSTANTIAL FINANCIAL LOSS. Yet, this man, Rawlings, has been going on and on alluding the prevalence of corruption in immediate past and present governments, NPP and NDC, and no one in those two gov'ts is saying anything to counter-attack him? Though I agree with his crusade to rid Ghana of corruption, least in gov't circles, but I'm not sure he's, truly untainted, to lead the moral ground. During his reign there were rumours circulating that he was, himself, corrupt and that his gov't was infected with corruption and malpractices. Yet, he has turned round to question same after his reign, and no one attacking his previous involvement with the 'endemic corruption' in his gov't, is beyond comprehension. Well, perhaps, his charging Ghanaians of having the tendency of "crippling ostrich mentality" is truism. So, we must leave it so!

THAT I WAS THEN WORKING AT THE CASTLE-OSU AS ASSISTANT DIRECTOR THEN WHEN THE UDS WAS ESTABLISHED AND THE FORMER PRESIDENT WON AND SHARED THE HUNGER AWARD PRIZE OF $100,000 WITH A CATHOLICS BISHOP OF BENIN AND SURPRISINGLY TO ME THEN THE FORMER PRESIDENT GAVE HIS SHARE OF THE HUNGER AWARD PRIZE TO THE NEWLY ESTABLISHED UNIVERSITY TO USE IT TO PURCHASE LIBRARY BOOKS AND MATERIALS FOR THE UNIVERSITY LIBRARY.
THAT AS I HAVE POSTULATED ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION AND VIEW EDUCATION AS "A KEY" THAT OPENS DOORS OF OPPORTUNITIES TO THE WORLD AND ALSO THE ONLY THING THAT CANNOT BE INHERITED BUT TO BE ACQUIRED BY THE INDIVIDUAL "PER SE" CANNOT BE OVER-EMPHASIZED.
THAT IT HAS BEEN MY PERSONAL OVER-RIDING AMBITION LONG AGO, TO SEE GHANA AND UNITED STATES OF AMERICA TO BE VERY CLOSELY FRIENDLY COUNTRIES WHICH I EVEN DISCLOSED TO HON. FORMER DEPUTY SECRETARY/MINISTER OF EDUCATION AND FORMER PRESIDENT OF EVANGELICAL PRESBYTERIAN UNIVERSITY COLLEGE, HO WALTER BLEGE WHEN HE VISITED ME IN NEW YORK, USA AND BY THE GRACE OF GOD SUCH AMBITION BECOMES A REALITY.
WHY GHANA SHOULD NOT APPRECIATE SUCH SINGULAR/PERSONAL RELATED ACHIEVEMENT THAT THE WHOLE COUNTRY GHANA HAS BENEFITED TREMENDOUSLY?
WHY SHOULD SOME RATHER ENVY SUCH SINGULAR ACHIEVEMENT?

Not accountable and plundered state resources, which still continues till today. Rawlings is still keeping his government residence at Ridge, Accra. The worrying silence by the majority is surely a strong signal of helplessness of many to confront the canker of corruption or sheer choice of acquiescence. Reason? May be that's the way to survive or the way to get your needs met, perhaps the only workable option to win a favor from some official in a department and the shameful list goes on! Who will stem the tide and reverse the negative and anti-developmental trend? The government! Failing to confront the issue will attract such public dressing from figures as former President J.J. Rawlings!

Will the government rise to the ocassion? Little hope it will as political expedience is more important to the government than booting corruption out. Reports are out but fear of stepping on friendly toes nothing has been done! Shame! Shame! Shame!

I wish all the officials at the airports, seaports, in government offices, who demand bribes in subtle but frustrating and agonizing ways would be ruthlessly dealt with! So foolish some big wig would deny someone their right of employment on merit or simple processing of business documents because of tips and sometimes sexual gratification! The shameful siphoning of state monies on daily basis is absurd to say the least!

The fight against corruption is onerous task. If a politician is glaringly corrupt ordinary people complain, they would be required 2 produce an "animal" called evidence before their story is believed. But we all know dat evidence is not something ordinary people can gather into baskets and present to court. If a politician is certainly living a lifestyle clearly beyond his means in a given community and people complain, don't we have a state machinery to quickly move in to investigate them and set the records straight? It is because we dont do this that corruption is on ascendency in our country.
