Now, if you were to open a textbook from years ago, you would have found that natural resources in abundance are a source of growth and wealth for
developing countries, or so it was supposed. Why not?
If you have oil, if you have diamonds, if you have gold and copper, can't these be used to help develop the country?
But if you turn to contemporary textbooks, the first chapter is liable to be about the resource curse, meaning that the revenues from foreign
investment in oil and gas and coal and copper get siphoned off in corruption. billions of dollars are siphoned off every year into THE private pockets of these so called DEMOCRATIC LEADERS.
WHAT A SHAME! There is a lack of transparency. There is a lack of accountability.
if you look at Chile, Peru, Indonesia, Malaysia, these are

People shouldn´t be surprised the NPP is in a serious crisis, it happened earlier on, when the die-hard people of dissolved UGCC formed MATE MEHO against Osagyefo Dr. kwame Nkrumah and his CPP party in the 50s, the MATE MEHO they formed was totally violently dissolved, because understanding and hatred among them couldn´t work, and the same hatred they used as a weapon against Nkrumah. After the dossolution of MATE MEHO Busia went away to formed his own Ghana national Congress Party. It was later with so many small, small parties, Osagyefo asked them to join to form one big party in a parliament, thus came U.P to oppose CPP in the parliement, but their opposition turned out to be violent and sabotage of the Government of CPP, that led many of those terrorist behind bars.

With my political experience and knowledge, I can categorically state that "The Fall of NPP" stems from Kufuor's administration. We all know that kufuor made it clear in UK that his choice of presidency after him was "Allan Cash" Let me say that a president is chosen by the people thru voting, therefore, Kufuor was wrong to have a personal presidential interest. He himself was voted to power by the people. Whenever a leader has personal interest in an organization creates divisions among members. Secondly, it was during Kufuor's administration that we heard about cocaine business in Ghana and one of his ministers was even arested in USA. This is due to poor leadership. Thirdly, was he not the one who asked 1m dollars as compensation after his regime? Didn't he know that a child in his own country carries table and chair everyday to school? If yes, why should Kufuor demand such an amount. This is greediness. This is what the NDC used against NPP during the presidential elections. Fourthly, did Kufour even campaign for Nana Addo when he was a president? No! but Nana was able to beat NDC during the first round. Should he as a leader and a president of a nation had done his homework by campaining in support of Nana, there wouldn't have been 2nd round. Thanks and think of it.

It is an opportunity for the NPP to broaden its base and open the tent wider for Ghana is looking for a dynamic visionary leader. Such a person can come from anywhere, NPP included.
