Name, I think we should fare to all when matters like this comes up. I think NDC is waiting to join the sale of the drill ship so that they can collect all the moneys all together to make accounting easier for them

Your Kufuor, Akufo Addo, Osarfo Maafo and co. mess the country's finances up and irresponsibly, disregarded contracts with agencies and countries within International Laws with impunity. Your Kufuor and co were so myopic in their thinking that they thought Ghanaians would not ever know the massive judgement debts they caused whilst in office. All these are campaign issues and we are reguklarly updating our notes. The time will come when our notes will bare their full teeth.
The ordinary person on the street is respected only for his/her vote and nothing more. Is what we ordinary people want to be used for after which we are ignored and despised? I dont want to be treated like this if all others want it this way.
I attended the university to be analytical and to guide my life with the good judgements I make out of this.

There's a lot talk going on when matters of great importance esp. about Ghana's economy and progress is in focus. The judgement debt issue is one big problem that we need to set straight. In essence govt. have paid out monies that ought not to have been paid in the first place because those recipients (companies) did not deserve to be paid.

Ghanaians and some govt. have attempted to rid our nation of corruption so it's surprising to note that the very people who've been preaching "probity and accountability" could be the very ones guilty of the practise they've been preaching about. That's unacceptable esp. knowing that the punished others severely for the same offence.

The "drill ship" case have had many people talking, esp. those who want to know the truth about it all.

The drill ship came to Ghana for the purpose of finding Oil, during the NDC era. Govt. had all the seismic data that pointed to facts that Ghana had Crude Oil reserves sitting under our ocean beds. At least the first drop of Oil was known during Gen. Kutu Acheampong's NRC era.

The NDC, led by Flt. Lt. J.J. Rawlings set out the goal to strike Oil in commercial quantities as we have now, having all the seismic 'info' so the drill ship was employed.

Currently, I'm employed in a company in Alberta, Canada who manufactures the pumps or drilling machines for Oil, around the world. The company is engaged in over 100 oil sites around the world, including Africa. My little research that I conducted reveals that the cost of a drill ship on monthly basis isn't any cheap thing; it ranges in the $100K plus/day in many cases. Folks have to understand that there's no jokes when it comes to money in the Oil industry---everything is liquid money. Period!

So I guess the Kuffour govt. found it a complete waste of resources if the drill ship had to hold on to it. It was necessary for the ship to be sold, and that's exactly what Kuffour's govt. did at that time; govt. could hold on to it (we struck oil in 2007) until Oil was found in commercial quantities.

With this little 'info' I hope the records can not be set straight. Those who're trying to make noise about it should begin to do their calculation and analysis well before they come out with any bogus and uninformed arguments.
