Kwami, imagine you're a manufacturer or one trading in items which supply is dependent on electricity and/or water.
How do you retain the price of your wares, as they were last month, with these increments?
So without question these prices are going to cause price hikes in all goods and services.
But really my beef is with the known gross mismanagement within the utilities, especially regarding abysmal efforts at collecting their bills. How can so many individuals and companies owe these utility companies large sums of monies ONLY FOR WE THE LAW ABIDING ONES TO BE PUNISHED FOR THE SINS OF THE RECALCITRANTS?
I am appalled and disappointed with these huge increments!

No where is cool.

In America for example, petrol tariff increase is in the region of between 2 -5 cents not anything more than that.Which falls back to normal after a few weeks.I stand to be corrected.(like between 2-5 pesewas increase per gallon)And they hardly increase. Who in this world would complain about 2 or 4 pesewas increase for few days or weeks. That's the kind of common sense approach Ghanaian leadership is lacking.

That's the one of the reasons I think any smart Class one guy in Ghana could be the Minister or president .Because all what you have to do is to increase things here and there. Do you need a Master's degree to be able to increase petrol every year.Do you need a BA degree to be able to increase electricity and water tariffs each year?.So who said School boys and girls could not be employed as Ministers of Finance,Energy,Trade etc etc
Having said that,in the advance Countries people go to School for the good of himself/herself in particular and mankind in general.
The reason is that Knowledge acquired from School is used to better human resources and Conditions if possible to make life worth living. But in my Country Ghana, knowledge acquired from school as if by design,is used to put more financial burden on their own people to make life unbearable .For,they don't know anything else on how to solve a problem aside from increase in tariff, ,increase, increase. That's what they know how to do best. Who.can't do that !
