Before JJ, the only execution in Ghana were performed on 3 Akans who failed in a coup that killed Trokosi Kwasi Kotoka. Their names were Arthur, Yeboah and Osei-Poku. Those executions were done by Ewes with the help of then Ga Ghanaian leader called Ankrah.

I don't know where you were in the 80's but I witnessed our fathers and mothers humiliated by these foolish Ewes right in front of our eyes hiding behind some stupid Yokogari Revolution. I saw our elders paraded half naked in the streets of Kumasi for merely having beer bottles in their homes. I saw our respected pastors tied behind vehicles and dragged on the road till death. Even my own uncle, the chief of Bantama and the second most powerful person in Kumasi was not spared. At first I thought this was happening across Ghana till I started moving around only to discover that we Ashantis were the main target.

Today the Northerners in Ghana have teamed up with Ewes to humiliate Akans but it was the same Northerners like Alolga Akata Pore and Halidu Gyiwa who were trying to rescue Ghanaians from Ashawo ba JJ's atrocities. Kofi Awoonor was a great academic and probably one of the greatest in the field of poetry and literature that Ghana has and will ever produce. In the same vain, he was an evil tribalist. He preached tribalism, eat tribalism and drank tribalism.The bullet that killed him was not fired by an Akan or an Ashanti.It was fired by an equally demented, overzealous, religious fanatic whose hatred for those outside his religious confines knew no bounds , much in the same way that Awoonor's hatred for Akans and Ashantis knew no bounds. His death should remind all of us of how frail and venerable every human being is and that we are all subject to death and all the troubles associated with the existence of man on this sinful world whether you are an ewe , ashanti or a frafra. I pray to the almighty God to have mercy on his soul and to help us Ghanaians to eschew all traits of tribalism and embrace each and everyone as a Ghanaian and a brother. Ghana is now---and only those with ''won't see, won't hear'' eyes and ears, fail to perceive---in an ethnic tug of war. The primary antagonists are the Ewe(a foreign group of doubtful Ghanaian nationality), vrs the Akans, especially the Asantes. It shouldn't be so, but that is how it is. A fight for the very soul of Ghana, with the aim of the Ewe antagonists, diluting the numerical advantage of the Akans in Ghana is very much underway. A resort to the refrain, ''oh, we are all Ghanaians'' is just a clever ploy, by our antagonists, to mask their well known agenda of a wholescale ethnic oriented promotion of their group. Please, don't facilitate this grand agenda. Your individual action, whilst not occurring to you, does have profound consequences.

Don't marry them. Let their own Ewe men, marry them. Yours, is to marry Asante girls. Yes, our Asante girls, shouldn't be left in a lurch. They surely deserve to be married to their progressive own kith and kin.

It is because of you, Asante men, marrying out to others, that is causing and most unfairly so, Asante girls to become so frustrated.

Marry your own.....Asante girls, also deserve very much, their own.

If you marry an Ewe girl, say, the children are never truly your own as some of you erroneously believe.They can never be. Asante family membership is determined through the mothers. The blood in your children are Ewe blood. Other members of your family, say, won't accept that the children are your own. When it comes to family inheritances and even upward social movement in Asante---such as ascending to chiefship , they'll be shunted aside. They'll also, never be truly regarded as Asante. Is this the sort of dilemna and mental anguish you want to inflict upon your children? My friend, think, think.

Marry Asante women, so your children, won't have to feel or suffer the anguish of being pulled in 2 opposing directions. Don't inflict such cruelty on them.

Open your eyes, open your ears, and appreciate better, what is happening in Ghana. I.e the antagonism b/n Ewes and Akans, principally Asantes, which is getting worse, day by day.

Also, when you marry out in such manner, especially to our antagonists, you weaken the lifeforce of the Asante. Your children shall be of a conflicting and doubtful allegiance. They won't be so given, to the ideals, values and unique perceptions of the Asante. This is a fact!! Hence, the beginning of the weakening of the entire Asante race.

My good friend, our antagonists are scheming and have schemed--devising so many methods of weakening Asantes. Bogus marriages, suppossedly for love, is what they've latched unto these days.

Such marriages, have an even greater potent ability to weaken an ethnic group, than even say, warfare. It is one of the most choice weapons, than can be used to dilute the lifeforce of an ethnic group.

Would you want Asantes to be rendered mere weaklings?

Marry your own. Let the Ewe sisters, marry their Ewe men. You being an Asante, too, you ought to marry an Asante girl. If they don't come your way, then go in for another Akan. Blood afterall, is blood.

There's a sinister move underway in Ghana, to weaken and dramatically reduce the number of Akans, especially the Asante---whom they perceive and quite rightly so, as being the stumbling block to the overall dominance of Ghana in perpetuity. Don't facilitate it. Don't let such come in, lest, we are rendered slaves in our own land.

In their hearts of hearts, Ewes hate Asante---that is a fundamental truth. I have interacted with many. They regard Asante as the only stumbling block, to the meteoric rise of their ethnic group(and yes, in the last 20 or 30yrs---its been a hell of a rise---to be truthful) and alongside with it, their control of Ghana. A women, too,like a man, can pretend very much. Women too, can be very well given to marriages of convenience. In seeking to move Asante out of the way for instance, they've devised many a stratagem, to achieve such an objective. Marriage, albeit, a bogus one, is one of them.

Our Asante sisters, also deserve to be married to their hardworking men. It is a natural right and a natural expectation. Asante girls/sisters are also very hardworking and dynamic. Treat them well, and they'll also push you--by virtue of their vibrant energies---to attain greater heights.

Don't marry out and leave our sisters frustrated, and then have to settle for mediocre, uninspiring, won't push themselves ahead men. Don't do so, and let them inflict some foreign names on Children of Asante blood.

Be strongminded and disciplined.Don't let your mind go jelly, when those girls(and they are trained in how to seduce men---unlike Akans, our culture frowns on such practices) give you some seductive come-ons.

If you are so indisciplined, that you can't resist, then, let it be a brief childless affair only---don't let it go any further.

OUR ASANTE GIRLS, SISTERS, NIECES ETC, DO DESERVE, AND QUITE NATURALLY SO, TO BE MARRIED TO THEIR OWN MEN.

Note also: Marriage, most often, also entails a wealth transfer. You the Asante man, after having come into wealth owing to your hardwork, will inevitably, say, had it over to your say, Ewe wife and children. Even, before that, your Ewe wife will be enjoying your wealth. Now, the question is, will she use your wealth to look after and better the life-chances of other Asantes? No.

Certainly not. She'll make use of it, to better her own Ewe people.

With no such wealth coming the way of your Asante brethren, they'll suffer a retrogression in life, whilst the Ewe, by virtue of the Asante wealth coming their way through say, your Ewe wife, shall have their life chances greatly enhanced.

Let this trend continue, and in no time, enriched by Asante wealth, these people, will come to dominate us, in our own land. All the land, buildings, bank accounts etc shall be in their names. The buildings may be in say, Asante alright, but will they belong to Asantes?

Should this continue, Asante will come crashing down, whilst, our antagonists, enriched by our wealth, come to dominate us, pull the strings and call the shots. Before you say jah, such has come to take place, and you'll be left wondering how it came about---how it happened.

The Blacks of India for instance, especially those in the South, the Tamil and other areas, successfully fought off the Aryan barbaric white skinned invaders from the north. Who were then, mere riff-raffs, so given to war, and lacked the cultural, scientific and religious sophistication of Blacks of India.

Then, yielding to their lusts and libidos, the Black Rulers of India, contracted marriages and bore children with some of the captive Aryan women. These women, having come into power, owing to their marriages, schemed and connived, and got many of their own Aryan kith and kin, appointed into many positions of wealth and trust. Every race, each ethnic group has its own unique lifeforce and spirit. This is such, which determines their approach to life, perspectives, culture, language, practices, etc. Please reinforce this lifeforce by sticking to your own, rather than diluting it, by marrying out.

Marry and prop up your own Asante women. Treat them well, love them and they shall also put their formidable energies at your disposal. They shall equally work hard and prop you up too. They shall push you to attain greater heights. Asante women(by large but not exclusive to Asantes alone), by their competitive nature, won't just sit around (become House Queens), for you to do all the work.

If an Asante woman doesn't come your way, then go in for an Akan women, our cousins the (Kwahus(our kith and kin), Akyems, some Bonos, Assin and Fante(also kith and kin, but...hmmmmmmmm)----are all favourable), whose group are favourably disposed towards Asante. Blood afterall, is blood. If they don't come across your way, go for the Ga, they are an understanding people. Perhaps, you may want to look north also, to say, the Dagomba--their women, dem fine fine fine.

By all means, be friends with other non-Asantes. Interact with them, those who geniunely have no problems with Asantes, you'll come to know, however never let your innate Asante sense, ever desert you. They are many pretend---I like Asantes---around.

For all they say about us Asantes, fundamentally, Asantes are the most progressive minded, most inclusive, most tolerant of others, group there has ever been in Ghana. Yes, on the surface, the typical Asante man may come across as brutish, arrogant, etc...but scratch that surface, and you'll discover a very ethnically unbiased person, who believes in fair play and equal life chances for all.

My good friend, owing to historical precedents, actions and inactions, even to this day, please steer well clear of their Ewe. Whether man or woman, dependent on your gender. They have an agenda, don't fall for it.

There are many, a good Ewe, that there won't be, will be such a gross anomaly. However, as we say in Twi, Onipa bonefuo, amma yen ahunu onipa papa.

Steer clear, lest you weaken the roots/lifeblood of Asante. The position and existence of Asante, like any other human institution/construct, is never guaranteed to continue in perpetuity. Its sustenance is a matter of working at it, sustaining it, tending to it, nurturing it etc by the present generation, the next and those after. Bear that in mind.

Play your individual part in sustaining it.

Osei Tutu ii A LARGE number of sheep were slaughtered at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, the official seat of the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, on Thursday afternoon.

Dubbed 'Nsumangoro', the special rites were performed to pacify the over a hundred gods of the Ashanti Kingdom.

The flock of sheep were slain by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II himself in the presence of the entire members of the 'Nsuman' Division of the Ashanti Kingdom.

The blood of the exterminated sheep was sprinkled on the ground to appease the gods for their protection of the Asantehene and members of the kingdom during the past decade.

The special programme, which was not open to the public, formed part of activities marking the 10th anniversary celebration of Otumfuo's ascension to the Golden Stool.

This was made public by the Head of the 'Nsuman' Division of the Ashanti Kingdom, Baffuor Dumfeh Gyeabuor, in an interview with Kessben FM.

Significantly, the 'Nsuman' Division chiefly protects the occupant of the Golden Stool spiritually.

Baffuor Gyeabuor disclosed pathetically that he had officially informed Otumfuo about the sudden death of a member of his group, Opanin Kwabena Akosa, who was shot and killed by unknown assailants on Wednesday evening at Atafoa.

The Asantehene, he noted, was informed about the death of Opanin Akosa before the 'Nsumangoro' got underway on Thursday.

I asked him if he ever been to Kumasi, he said no.He changed his attitude toward asantes after he he actually took the time to interact with the Asante people.
