It is about time African leaders come to realize that the primary goal of a government is to uphold the laws and protect the people; i.e., everybody in that country. Some of us were whining when Uncle Sam’s Ambassador in Ghana warned US citizen to take precaution in anticipation of the Supreme Court’s decision on the 2012 election. That is what a good country is supposed to do for her citizens. Yes, we are not savages but the primary responsibility of the US in this case is to her citizens.

Ghana and most African countries have no clue about the people who live in their country. Ghana has no national ID which indicates that we are Ghanaians and deserve to be in the country. Don’t tell me about our passports or drivers licenses. How many Ghanaians have neither? And our passport? Do we have any idea how many Nigerians are out there ‘operating under’ Ghanaian passports? Some of them 'brazenly' will tell you that the Ghanaian passport 'offers them an advantage'. Now, these passports are not fakes. They are real Ghanaian passports issued to citizens of another country by a Ghanaian government official. Yes, a government employee somewhere ‘took’ bribes from them and issued them with our passport.

Ghanaians should know that every little ‘corner we cut’, every bribe we take, every negligence of our duty, directly or indirectly, someone’s life is at stake. This is how criminal elements infiltrate a country and inflict the kind of damages that Kenya is experiencing. Do we want such barbaric acts to start happening in our country before we see that we have the responsibility to keep our country safe, peaceful and secure? Just having a national ID will not keep us secure but couple with a government which performs its function, police who perform their duty and a vigilant public we should be able to prevent such criminal elements from taking root in our country.

There is no region that has accepted people from all ethnic groups than Ashanti. They have Anlotown, Fante Newtown. Almost all the ethnic groups that live in most Asante towns have their own "Little chiefs." Even people from other countries like Nigerians have their "Little Chiefs" there.
The AFRC rule that targeted many Asante businesses led to that kind of animosity between some Ewes and Asantes. Many Ewes are married to Asante people. Many Ewes taught and still teach in Ashanti region and they are not attacked. So many other ethnic groups live among the Asante people in Ashanti and there is no record of Asantes attacking them as a group, irrespective of their political differences. How can such people be evil as you claim. You can get a few independent Asantes, Ewes, Dagombas, Gonja's etc who may be evil but that does not make that group evil.

Music man, I wished you have lived among the Asante people for just a short while. Visit their villages and see how they accommodate people from other groups. I have more friends in Wiamoase, Agona and Kumasi than Koforidua which is my hometown.
The case of Accra is quite different and many will agree with me. It is the center of government. The concentration of government business, industries etc in Accra has led to many travelling to Accra to look for jobs and transact business. If there was decentralization and factories not concentrated in Accra, I doubt that many people will want to live in Accra. Did it not surprise you that some irate Ga youth said they will not allow Kuffour to use a building that has been legally given to him by the transition team to use as office. Blame Ga people and chiefs also for encouraging being swallowed up by all from the 4 corners of Ghana as you put it. Their chiefs and family heads are ever ready to sell their land and even their homes to people from other parts of the country. Who then should be blamed?

These are individuals who are living on drugs, theft, rape e.t.c. as well as all criminal acts. This unfortunate incident should teach us Ghanaians not to get involved in the imperialist agenda of our oppressors like Kenya is doing. They use us to do their dirty work for them and then they abandon you to face the music later.

Danquah, Busia, Afrifa, Kotoka Gbedemah, Obetsebi-Lamptey and a whole host of others were literally abandoned to their fate after doing the dirty bidding of their colonial masters.

Kenya will learn sooner or later to mind their business and focus on their own problems of under-development instead of making themselves available as buffalo soldiers for their exploiters.
