Yes, the stealers, having turned Ghana into a Highly indebted middle-income country(HIMIC),after the NPP rescued her from a highly indebted poor country(HIPC)status in 2001, are using the only weapon they know how to use best(i.e. propaganda) to churn out "akpele journalism".

But will Akpele journalism help the stealers break the ranks of the Danquah/Dombo/Busia fraternity ?

Not even Africa's Stalin,Dr.Kwame Nkrumah, was able to destroy the only political grouping in Africa which has always upheld the freedom and liberty of the Ghanaian.

Except for a few learned Africans, much of our politics are based on the following:

1) Ethnicity (s/he is an Ashanti or an Ewe, so I support him)--that's not ideology, Negro;

2) My husband/wife or boy/girlfriend supports him, so my ass there too;

3) Then comes Kufuor: The guy or lady LOOKS good, so I support him/her (from a former president);

4) That candidate gave us rice or sardines, or T-shirts, or pocket money, etc., etc., so I support him/her.

5) And on and on with those COSMETIC foolishness about candidates instead of thinking about their IDEOLOGIES and what they can really do for the people and the country, etc.

Folks, even several of our MPs have no clue as to what "political ideologies they have and if you don't believe this, just try the following on our MPS—regardless of their parties:

What is your position on the size of government, income & property taxes, national defense, education, health care delivery, industrialization, dollar stabilization, unemployment, interest rates, inflation, etc., etc., and YO, either they have no clue or they believe in the same damn shallow OLD foolishness. Nothing new or different from the various politicians. They simply don’t know!!

So, ADAMFO KUFUOR is right on “looks” in African politics—because of ILLITERACY!!

Most of the Ghanaian Doctors I know are unfortunately very DAFT socially. Specializing in one trade or profession does not guarantee you absolute intelligence in all areas of life. Most of these so-called doctors cannot even solve their simply Ghanaian style compound or mansion problems, and they want to take a risk with Ghana?

One would have thought that Mr. Kufuor would have come out with a better argument to support his man. We all know Kufuor is a part of the "Agenda '16" which is solidly behind Alan Cash. But calling Akufo-Addo too ugly to be President is unexpected!

As for your call for proof, the paper refers you to "read Dr. Arthur Kennedy’s book 'Chasing the Elephant into the bush', particularly, chapter 2 and you will know what Mr. Kufuor meant; this confidant challenged”.

What the NPP needs to do to be attractive is to stop their ethnocentric insults and aggressive behaviour! How do you refer to all Ewes as being "Trokosi" and win in the Volta region? How do you refer to Northerners as "cow rearers" and win in the North?

Those who ultimately decide the winner in an election are the swing voters. They are not die-hard supporters of any party. These are people who simply want to get on with their lives in peace and in dignity. Any idiot who campaigns with "all die be die" as his slogan is digging his own grave!

Some of us pointed these things out to Akufo-Addo, but the "ugly" guy is too arrogant to heed! That was his down fall. And I don't think he stands a dog's chance even if he does a plastic surgery to make him look beautiful! He is a damaged good!

The NPP needs to turn a new leaf and come out with a new face. It might help if that face is handsome and young! That would be a victor! Perhaps he could be called Victor Young!

Here is a politician who is committed to upholding their values throughout his political life regardless of minor conflicts of opinions that inevitably arise. None of his contemporaries including Kuffour himself can fault him on the core beliefs like rationality, honesty, integrity, and the willingness to think deep for the interest of Ghana. Most Ghanaian politicians have no real convictions or beliefs of their own and will alter such values to please their"remote controllers". NANA ADDO is not. Ghanaians will not make the mistake of voting only for looks, whatever they may be. Beauty says little about character and political acumen and astuteness, unfortunately, and does not make up for good governance. Please choose the right man for the right job now. The "VANITY BRIGADE" can wait for beauty contest for politicians whenever; but for now we need extremely SERIOUS politicians to lead Ghana. Nana Addo is the right man for the 2016 slot. It is in the Ex-president´s interest to maintain his esteemed status as statesman rather than becoming a party activist. Mr. Kufuor should not try to please the few hawks in NPP by blindly backing whatever proposition they put out there in the public domain.

If this statement attributed to him is not refuted ASAP, his image in the party stands to suffer immensely. He should not allow himself to be pushed in petty squabbles that will erode his standing as a respected father figure to whom all can look up to for direction.
