He that is down need not fear no fall. He that just took a bath for a whole hour need not wash their feet because they are already clean. If Afari Gyan believes that election 2012 was as perfect as he claims even after his admission of 86 criminal offences that engulfed the 2012 elections, then why do we need any reforms. It was perfect so let us keep it up. A whole foreign materials will be found in 2016 elections because the justices said it is perfect. No one will be verified any longer because the stupid justices said after spending such much big money to purchase the biometric machines, they are of no use so let us throw them away and kill ourselves because that is what they SC justices want in Ghana. Again, whether or not a supervisor at a pooling station signs or not, whatever will be found on the pink sheet will be perfect. Even a 27 zero will be written on the face of the pink sheet... we have no qualms against that, it is all well and good. Aaaba, 2016 here we come. Ebeye hu huu hu. Then the justices especially justice Atuguba will cry for the day he was born and wished he was dead before that day came into being.

It is unthinkable to come from NDC official that NPP should submit plans for electoral reform. I think it is the duty of parliament to appoint non partisan commission to carry on the reforms.

Who don't seem to like Ghana a bit why? In the first place this guy shouldn't have opened his mouth to say what he said. Not quite long ago in 2008 this ndc went to the same electoral commission to vandalise the place because of electoral results and they find nothing wrong with that but when somebody decided that I'm not going that way but to the court ndc started singing songs of crucifixion, and that is ndc party for Ama Ghana. I've no doubt in my mind that this guy George Lawson is more for ndc than Ghana otherwise he wouldn't write this distasteful article.NO POSSITION IS PERMANENT.

I can assure you that had NDC been in the same position as NPP, their language would not have been different. Politicians are strange animals and they speak and act depending what position they find themselves in. Just imagine the argument over the HS2 project(High Speed Rail)in UK. It was the Labour government that initiated it led by the then Transport Secretary, Alistair Darling. At the time he said the project will benefit the country by creating millions of jobs, bring in billions of investment and reducing the north-south divide. Now in opposition, the same Alistair Darling has changed his tune 180 degrees and says the project is too expensive and cannot be justified. He is now against the project. That is the same thing NDC/NPP are engaged in. When in government what they say and do is the opposite of when in opposition. That is politics. I am sure NDC opposed anything proposed by the EC when they were in opposition.

The loose talk must cease and the task of nation building must take centre stage. But true to perceptions under the NDC this is not going to happen. Small minds like George Lawson will still focs on pedestrian issues when the concern of the average Ghanaian is how we can put food on the table. We have a non-performing President who is saddled with a team of greedy advisers. Thus the question of vision and the future of Ghana as a country is not of serious concern to this lot and thanks to the SC judges we have to make do with them for a bit.

The current political moment enjoins ardent rank and file members of NPP to dethrone those who have imposed themselves as leaders of the party.
Since its inception, the 8 years of NPP administration of Ghana showed a positive outcome of the work of the Afari-Gyan chaired Electoral Commission. Yet, for losing the presidential elections of 2008 and 2012, NPP leaders have cast Dr. Afari-Gyan as their political nemesis instead of examining the decision-making of Ghanaian voters.
It is shameful that NPP leaders could be so ungrateful and selfish to the core. It is the voters who decide who they want their rulers to be, not the EC.
Dr. Afari-Gyan has distinguished himself as an astute public servant who would be judged positively by posterity.
NPP will be digging its own political grave if it fails to participate in the call by the EC for reformist ideas of its work. Yet, there's nothing new here.

The electoral reforms of the country certainly can not be made or call by the same accused and shamed old crook Afari Djan and his criminal colleagues.
EC is not like any other business organisation or a government institution which can make it own laws or rules to perform on it own.
Because of the huge national interest and importance of the EC, it is instituted and empowered by the wisdom of the constitution which was drawn by an independence body which makes the issue here as simple for elementary understanding and of common sense that it is only by an independence body constituted by the various political parties and other interested stakeholders for a reform.
Anybody who puts up a challenge to ague here that the EC can reform itself on her own is either an illiterate political novice as we have a lot of such who unfortunately are parading the corridors as powers as politicians or just a riffraff buffoonery sychophant making empty noise to be heard.
The NDC attempt to meet the National Peace Council and the Electoral Commission cum John Mahama to fashion out how the national interest concerning transparent and fairness of the electoral process is ill conceived, a waste and criminally diabolic. Bin it! Period!

The man Lawson is been stupid, 10 years of no reform has made the Electoral Comission what it is today. EC with a Chairman who doesnt know what is going on in his Comission and you say we shouldnt reform it. How stupid can anybody be thinking Electoral Comission should reform it self. If EC could, we would have been hearing Addo and co petition.
How stupid do you see Afari Gyan after the petition hearing? He didnt care what is happening in democracy, its the name and money he care about.
If Gyan could reform the EC he would have done it before 2012 election. Gyan is a failed leader and SHOULD NEVER be allowed to be part of the reforming team.
If Ghana had paliament by now Gyan will have a office to go to. Every ghanaian heard him in the SC and he was very stupid to be a Chairman of anything.
Lawson should not think our EC is political. Ghana is ghana because of our Supreme Court, Electoral Comission and the Rule of Law. Democracy come from the three and if one is not working the whole system is not working.
John Mahama was made the president in January 2013 by the Supreme Court. Those fools who think nine judges can change our Supreme Court decision should think twice.
When the SC say something that thing is final, the judges lead by Atuguba cant Never change our SC decision whether they see it wrong. That is a Supreme (god) court and God only decides once. God never change his mind whether you see it wrong or right likewise our Supreme Court.

It has been a great concern for many smart thinking Ghanaians about the 'whole sale' failure of many of the presiding officers/returning officers to sign their part of the polling sheets. It is believed this was a deploy strategy used by the NPP to win electios so that when the election never go their way then they can go to court to see if their strategy used could save them to turn the election results to their favour.
The heavens exposed that at the court, and that led to their humliating defeat in the hands of the intelligent and honest judges of the SC. A wise person could easily say that the presiding officers in the Mahama strong hold areas who failed to sign their election sheets were bribed by the Akuffo Addo faction of the NPP who at all cost determined to win the elections with every crooked strategies that could help them to achieve their goal to win the elections.
Why are they refusing/ refraining from joining the reforms spearheaded by the electorial commission. I see the display of this primitive cum village mentality as detrimental to the progress of our nation. It is true that all the past elections that brought the NPP to power was andministered by the same electorial commission.
It is through this reform body that every sincere people can voice out their greviances and with the needed coperation solutions can be found for our nation to move forward politically and economically. Ghana is not for NPP that they will try to create unnecesary situations to hinder the progress of our loving nation. It is naturally simple, just get involve with active minds and see how best things can work for all of us.
After all the NPP claimed to be higly educated people, and this is about intelligent work, and if so why worry like villagers who are not educated. Keep in mind that claiming to be educated is not only the obtaining of degrees but the manouvering and the activeness of your daily networking. Do not you guys see your Obetsebi Lamptey, the degreeless and certifcateless man the way he teaches you the village guys and push you around. Among you he has no degree but in reality he is your teacher in many things as he is even one of the petitioners, but his only problem of stupidity is that he is not wise, so where he has to stop you instead he gives you green light. Like in this situation where he has to advise you to join the reforms headed by the EC for a national political solution, he is hiding because he is also aware of the onesided mentality of the NPP in decision making.
Yes, it is not only about degrees, but the boldness to face any situation and discuss with your eyes and ears open to follow every point and ascertain or acknowledge it. In this scenario where is the fear NPP?. Stop the display of the bush man's mind and get onboard and get things work good for our Ghana period.

Electoral reform is not necessary unless one can pin-point aspects of the electoral system which are to blame for NPP's loss of the 2012 elections and the petition which arose from it, and even then those aspects could have also worked against NDC. The key problem that I read from the judgement is human rather than the system: human error, incompetence, corruption, dishonesty, indiscipline etc. which permeate through the social fabric of the Ghanaian society. This is what should engage the attention of aspiring leaders rather than a reform of the electoral system. Systems do not function on their own; it is people who make systems work. Having people with appropriate qualities is a sine qua non for the functioning of any system. Reform may be necessary, at times, but not sufficient to make a system work, and in the case of the electoral system the problem is more of human factor decay than administrative processes, regulations/rules and guiding principles of the electoral system.

Is Mr. Kufuor leading NPP in this unfortunate protestation because their party has lost an election?
Why did the former president not lead such a protest when he won those elections that brought him to office? This is simply a mark of bad losers.
It will be recalled that Mr. Kufuor also sought to frustrate EC when it was creating some constituencies just before the General election. Should he establish himself as a father-figure and statesman rather than aligning himself with the rabble-rousing group in the NPP?

Boy Kofi, I'm sorry you don't even have identity but you are welcome to criticize my contributions here and I expect such to be more dynamic using your brain. In the first place why do you think the very people within the EC have the right to call for reforms and what is gone wrong to merit such reforms in their opinion?
I repeat, EC reform can be call only by her stakeholders and not by the same corrupt care management now calling on stakeholders for reforms.
The EC as constitutionally well structured organisation have absolute nothing wrong. What is wrong about the EC is the criminally discredited Afari Djan's led corrupt gangsters operating within the EC who need to go or have renewal of their criminal attitude to remain. Period!
