It was again the NDC which appointed Afari-Djan and all the members of the Electoral Commission.

We also saw how he, Tsatsu, was always pampered in court by Justice Atu-bugabuga,who was appointed to the Supreme Court by the NDC and who is an uncle of Raymond Atubuga,the secretary to John Mahama.

Are 80% of current Supreme Court judges not appointed by the NDC ?

I am shocked to read what Tsatsu is alleging about SCJ Anim Yeboah. Unless Tsatsu can prove that throughout the hearing SCJ A Yeboah voted against the first and or third respondents on all matters, then he could not be justified on his accusation. I will find it difficult to believe that any of the Justices consistently voted in favour of or against a particular party or parties in the petition throughout. I will find that to be very strange and odd and not the norm.

It is very sad that Tsatsu has singled out SCJ Anim Yeboah for criticism without reading his written decision. This attack or criticism has opened the floodgates to attacks on all the Justices who are considered to be sympathetic to one of the two major parties. As a senior member of the Bar he should have not come out in this manner. I am saddened by his action. He is definitely in contempt of court, unless he can prove what he alleges with the voting decisions of SCJ Anim Yeboah.

Do you think you can go to a chief house and insult someone in front of the chief? If it is not allowed in our chiefs court, why should it be allowed in our Supreme court. Yet, the supreme court found it necessary to charge those who were insulting others outside of the court.

I know that Atuguba can't find himself to bring any contempt charges against Tsatsu. What is the difference between this one and what Ken Kuranchie said about Atuguba?

Re-run at those polling stations for what?. What is the correlation between unsigned Pink sheets with thumb prints on ballot papers and Presiding Officer not signing Pink Sheets?. I could agree if the issue was about a Presiding Officer not signing ballot papers! Remotely, I could understand the re-run for the other two viz.over-voting and voting without verification. What the judges might be saying is that, for the avoidance of doubt,let's re-run the election at the affected polling stations.These two involve ballot papers.What about unsigned Pink Sheets?.I am only conjecturing, however, and I await the full judgement to find the reasons assigned to the decisions.

The rest of the people shall rely on common sense to judge this case.
As far as I can see Justice has not been dispensed and we all know that without Justice there can be no peace!

How can any lawyer say this? Does what he said, in converse also mean that the rest of the other lawyers were also politically inclined against the NPP? Whaaaat?

Since the end of this case, I have been hearing all sorts of funny comments and conclusions from all sides but this one, which is in tune with those coming from the likes of tro-tro mates and truck-pushers, beats them all.

What you are saying in effect is that we should all humbly and subserviently submit ourselves, without question, to whatever nonsense judges and lawyers may come up with. I wasnt educated for nothing and I will not lower my dignity to do that.

The evidence and the explanations that we have is what we all saw on television and in the newspapers.

Any institution, any philosophy, ideology, religion or subject matter under this sun that does not readily make sense or add value to the life of the ordinary citizen, is in itself, bankrupt, counter-productive and irrelevant.

Yes lawyers may specialize in the art of offering their specific services to others in society who have not, but at the end of the day, every reasonable human being can tell whether a given judgment is just or, is not just.

In countries like Ghana where the law has been rendered hopelessly corrupt by the sticky fingers of obtuse politicians and ethnic and elitist affiliations, such as the unfair outcome of the recent case involving the NPP General Secretary attests to, no amount of explanations can clarify anything.

One thing that Kufuor will never get away from is pardoning that convicted felon. That act alone is a clear indication that our educated elite or politicians are in bed one way or the other but at times, they fool their supports as if they are enemies who are out there to eliminate one another.

Now, when Tsikata was convicted, the one whose obligatory is to make sure that his name was erased from the lawyers book was Kpegah and being his tribesman, did he do that? Hell no and here we are being bombarded by Tsikata's irrational senselessness. Justice Anim Yeboah is bias in what sense? Wasn't Mahama briefed before the outcome of the Supreme Court ruling on the just ended case?

Do we have people in Ghana who are not affiliated with any political party? How was Attubuga elected to the head the Supreme Court? Isn't that through politics?

It is difficult to understand how some of the judges arrived at their verdict in the light of the evidence before them. For instance, how can a whole judge rule that just because the presiding officers at the polling stations did not sign the electoral records then the votes should be cancelled. Votes counted in public and all the parties' agents certified the authenticity of the figures should be cancelled just because the presiding officers did not sign the electoral record. It would have been different if the petition was about the incorrectness of the figures recorded. Commonsense alone shows that, this petition has no merit but a Supreme Court judge wants the votes to be cancelled and re-run.

i want to put it to all Ghanaians that the NDC could not came back to power from that seemingly impossible position but for the Instructions of the Otumfour to Kuffoour not to allow Akuffo Addo and his Akyem maffias to be president. Else akuffo addo as a president would invest in the eastern region and project Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori-Panyin who will eventually rise to rub shoulder with Otumfour for Prominence and Magesty.
For this reason, Kuffour under extreme pressure was to project Allan K, an Ashanti, in 2008 against Nana Addo. The loss of Allan meant to Kuffour that if No Allan, then no NPP.
Again, about 60% of the original Ashantes are of Dagomba origin. 20% of the rest are of the other nothern tribes. Look at Kuffour?.
In the 2012 elections, Otumfour hosted the 'peace' conference in order to assure Mahama, that the elction were going his way.
it was obvious.
"After all, many of we the Ashanti's are of Northern blood and so it would be better for us especially the royal lineage that a Prez. Mahama is of us than a Prez Nana Addo" whom for centuries now, his Akyem royals have been at loggerheads with us.
In the just 'deffer ed conflict' staged managed by the Supreme court, Again the Ashantehene, Kuffour and Allan K played their 2008 roles.
Otumfour is alleged to have invited most of the Judges to Manhyia for 're-briefing'. he is alleged to have spoken to Baffoe Bonnie and some others to lobby and help maintain Mahama in power.
Two weeks Ago, the NDC started talking about power sharing.
'who intervened to lobby who, allegedly pay $1mill. to who each?
Some so called men of 'god' of so called peace 'committee' were greasing the elbows of the Otumfour, Kuffour, Allan and NDC to avert a potential 'de-stoolment' of Mahama for Nana Addo. most of the mentioned names have been shedding 'crocodile tears'
And the result was the legally illogical, socially explosive and divinely un-pardonable verdict.
in future, the NDC will be in power for at least the next 16 years.
why? because:
i. Allan will contest Bawumia.
ii the akyem's will resist Allan and support Bawumia to win the primaries.
iii. the Ashante 'Crocodile' power players including Otumfour and Kuffour, now seeing the exit of their royal Allan K, would have no choice than to allow for open contest between Mahama and Bawumia. eventually, Maham will triumph.

On what legal or factual basis can the 5 judges explain not finding over voting or voting without verification when EC, Mahama and NDC admitted on the stand foreign objects and unexplained numbers and entries. These were direct admissions. As to whether the irregularity would have risen to change the election was a different conclusion. I'll wait on the text of the decision before l go further. But we did not want to say anything yet but Mr Tsikata thank you for allowing us the bravado to tackle some of these backroom moves. We will come back

Everyone knowns that Justices Thomas, Scalia normally tilt towards the republicans whiles Ginsberg,Sotamayor and Kagan tilt towards the democrats but I have never heard them being lamblasted. I think people like Tsatu will do us well to shut up if they do not have anything good to say.

It should have been 9 - 0, and this would have discouraged the petitioners from running to court over trivial matters such as the last one that took eight years of Ghanaians' economic life. DO FINANCIAL COMPANIES IN GHANA HAVE THE SAME RULES AND LAWS? IT WAS FOR THIS REASON THAT SOME EMBASSIES DECIDED TO WARN THEIR CITIZENS OF REAL VIOLENCE. HAD THE NPP WON THEN THE MASSES WOULD HAVE BEEN OUT ON THE STREETS SEEKING JUSTICE BY TAKING THE LAW INTO THEIR HANDS. THIS TIME IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN TSATSU ON HIS OWN. IDIOTS WILL SAY YSATSU SHOULD BE CHARGED WITH CONTEMPT BUT NO ONE CAN AS HIS EXAMPLE ABOVE IS ENOUGH PROOF FOR ANIM YEBOAH TO BE STRUCK OFF THE LIST OF SUPREME COURT JUDGES. IN ANOTHER COUNTRY HE WOULD HAVE BEEN INVESTIGATED AND SUMMARILY DISMISSED.
Any good lawyer will tell you NPP had no case. Even REUTERS said Mahama was going to win. Sir John is a disgrace to the Ghana Bar Association. Any NPP activist could easily give his ballot from Kumasi or Aburi to be used together by another NPP fan registered in Odododiodoo so as to attain a situation of more ballots in the box than the number verified biometrically and then the claim over vote in court. Also an NPP agent acting as a Presiding Officer can secretly allow presidential ballots to be contaminated by parliamentary ballots even by a single vote or two and claim ignorance so as to take advantage of the situation and cancel results of the areas Mahama won. This is possible so how can NPP prove that the over voting was done with the knowledge of the NDC or EC or both? On this line of defence by an attorney honest judges will have no option than to truthfully arrive at 9-0. On the issue of signatures of Presiding Officers not being on the Pink Sheets it should again be 9-0 because Bawumiah was made to read five times in court about the EC law which states that votes cannot be invalidated if a presiding officer does not sign and all other party agents have signed. On Voting without biometric Verification it should also be 9-0 as NPP could not bring any hard evidence of someone who voted without being verified biometrically. They could not even produce anyone of that nature in their affidavit. Ghost polling stations should be 9-0 because the pink sheets of those stations had signatures of NPP agents and above all a letter to the EC from NPP informing them of an agent who will be manning one of those ghost stations. Initially NPP claimed the letter was forged because it was written on the 5th but received on the 3rd of the same month. However it was shown the letter was post-dated and a circumstance which can happen just like a post-dated cheque.
With the pink sheets, the EC is the author and reserves the right to interpret so the EC is the determining factor here and like they said "Codes and not serial numbers were used". The judges proved why some areas had the same codes as they were small and neighbours. Again 9-0 is the right answer. Now with duplicate serial numbers on Pink sheets it should be 9-0 as the serial numbers were from the Printing Press outside Ghana and had nothing to do with areas therefore no rigging or fraud. If a ten cedi note and a fifty cedi note have the same serial number it does not mean they are both of the same value or the ten cedi can be exchanged for fifty. The serial numbers do not come into play here, it is the 10 and the 50 which are printed on the notes that help identify the note and not the serial numbers therefore the identifier in that group called money is the monetary value and not the serial numbers. VERDICT is therefore 9-0 on all aspects. Sir John even if your parents ate worms to give birth to you, you should still be clever as worms contain a lot of proteins. YOU ALL NEED THE FREE SHS AS EDUCATED FOOLS. IT IS PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT MAKE MILITARY COUPS HAPPEN SO THAT A FEW SLAPS WILL BRING YOUR SENSES AND GUMPTIONS BACK TO LIFE!!! I am struggling to understand Tsikata for his tantrums at Anim Yeboah. How can Tsikata overlook the behaviour of Atuguba three other judges and pick on Anim Yeboah. Anim Yeboah was not the only judge on the panel appointed by Kufuor. If Tsikata is honest with himself, of the nine judges, 5 of them ruled for the petitioners in at least one of the reliefs sought by the petitioners. In the case of Anim Yeboah, he granted 3 of the reliefs and dismissed the other 3. Atuguba an appointee of NDC did not grant any of the reliefs so who is politically biased here? Tsikata's comments are divisive and will not augur well for the peace of Ghana. The peace council has done well to ensure peace in the country post the verdict. Nana Addo was quick to concede defeat just to ensure that Ghana moves on. Tsikata should have weighed his comments carefully for it could lead to the breaching of the peace in Ghana. He has opened himself to attack from decent Ghanaians and he must be prepared for it. Tsikata is just an idiot for starting this.

This is why the world will understand that our justice system is somehow skewed! Except two (2) of the Supreme Court Justices, the rest seven (7) were all appointed by Rawlings' NDC govt. And this is what is creating difficulties in Ghana. Our democracy is not fully grounded. There's absolute bias in the system. I suggest that a new group of Justices must be appointed getting rid of the old group. The Supreme Court has failed in its duties to adjudicate upon the election petition that was filed by NPP presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, his vice, Dr. Bawumia and Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey.

The Thursday, 29 August ruling was completely biased! Justice Atuguba and some of his co-justices made a bad decision. The fact is a nation cannot develop when its 3rd arm of govt. neglect to do their duty to the state diligently. It's sad for the Supreme Court who ought to instill discipline and truthfulness in the people should accept fraud and corruption. Will our judiciary condone in falsehood and deceit; will our justices keep blind eyes on what is obvious to society? Then why do we need such a system?

Now there's talk in many places that the was behind-the-doors skirmishes involving govt. and the Supreme Court, as well as National Security. Some are talking about bribe taking etc. It's no wonder that the NPP, protested the inclusion of Justice Atubuga whose brother had been strategically installed at the seat of president as secretary, pointing to conflict of interest. The NPP were right; Thursday's verdict tell the story.

Tsatsu Tsikata should attempt to annoy Ghanaians; election fraud is a crime and must know that no it retards the progress and harmony of every nation. It's not right! There must be electoral reforms. Afari-Gyan must leave; he's been in that position for a long time and has become corrupt, so it's time to replace him.

The court case is over! But lots of Ghanaians still live in pain, knowing that our justices, on whom they'd put their faith had failed them. There's signs of despair and hopelessness in the air. Ghanaians are however resolute and ready to take on the challenge to correct the situation in the next elections.

Tstatu Tsikata, Atuguba & Co., should get it clear that they've added salt to wounds for Ghanaians. There's peace in Ghana not because of the verdict, but by the sheer will of the Ghanaians people to have peace.

This is not only unbelievable, but frankly outrageous and could only be a partisan stand, not a principled stand on the law!!!

We all know justices even in the US supreme court tend to vote along party lines and certain personal convictions. But not in a landmark case like this which could have plunged the nation into chaos with such a weak and lame ruling on his part.

I agree with Tsatsu these things "need to be checked in order to be corrected" otherwise we cannot continue like this as a nation. The judge was not at all objective in his ruling.

Tsastu is just too polarizing a figure and he need not to be granted a television interview right after the verdict. I did not watch the interview so I can't comment on his exact pronouncement. I think the verdict is a win-win for all Ghanaians. God bless Ghana.

Tsatsu as a so called renowned Lawyer should know that even in the US Supreme Court,the Justices have their political leanings and it is well known. I hope he knows that but he politics has clouded his vision.
