Gawuko, before you start praising the Kenyan election petition case, please find some literature to read about it first. It was a total sham and no where near as transparent as Ghana's. The petitioners were given only one week to gather evidence to present to court, meanwhile, the electoral commission ensured that the released of the evidence were delayed for 5 days. How could they organize their facts and prepare a winning case in 2 days? Impossible, given that it took the electoral commission with all the state resource at their disposal more than 2 days to collate and declare the election result.
Infact there is more details on the Kenyan election, written in an article by a law professors, the article appeared on BBC online. From the way I see it, no election petition can be won in Kenya, ever, until the process is revised.

In a civilized community, it is no big deal for a person not to misbehave. But in an uncivilized community, it is normal for a person to misbehave so when a person does not misbehave, he must be commended. In fact, care must be exercised not to provoke him to change his behaving to misbehaving. The assumption behind the commendations for Akufo Addo is that, Africa is an uncivilized community so it is not normal for someone who has lost at the Supreme Court to accept he has lost. Akufo is a "hero" by accepting the rule of the Supreme Court and congratulating President Mahama.
But for the fact that Akufo Addo is operating in an uncivilized Africa, he should have been condemned for wasting 8 precious months for Ghanaians.
Akufo Addo had no better time to concede defeat and congratulate President Mahama than 9th December 2012 when the EC declared President Mahama winner of the election.
All the numerous observers local and international including the media said with one voice that the elections were free, fair and transparent but Akufo Addo's NPP had other ideas.
Akufo Addo claimed there was rigging. Even when they assembled the pink sheets and noticed no rigging, they refused to repent. They changed the claim to six items: 1. some pink sheets unsigned, 2. some people voted without biometric verification, 3. some pink sheets had duplicate serial numbers, 4. some pink sheets had the same codes, 5. there were over-voting at some places and 6. there were unknown polling stations.
As a result, they wanted almost 5 million votes to be annulled and demanded to be declared winner based on the remaining votes.
The SC verdict is very decisive. All the 9 judges rejected 3 of the claims while the other 3 claims were rejected by a majority decision. Even the minority of the judges who did not reject 3 of the claims refused to annul the votes concerned for Akufo Addo to declared winner. What they said was that, the election should be re-run in the polling stations concerned. If this were to be done, everybody knows that, these are Mahama's strongholds and the result will not be anything different from the first result Akufo Addo rejected.
Those who think the SC can declare someone winner of an election should use this judgment to revise their notes.

Being civilized doesn't mean you should be a push-over or you should foolishly accept whatever unfair treatment done you.
Let's call a spade a spade, there is no fair election in Africa, and Ghana's 2012 election is no exception-there were a lot of wrong-doing in the election.
A contestant who has spent a lot of time, energy, and resources to compete has every right to seek justice and fairness. Akkufo Addo went through the due process without taking the law in his hands, the court has ruled against him.
A,d, as the Constitution demands, he has bowed-out gracefully at a time he feels continuing the case will be a grate setback for the Country. Where do you think Mr. Akuffo Addo is wrong, and why would you want him to give-in prematurely, when he know something definitely was wrong with the election?

Obenfo asked..."Where do you think Mr. Akuffo Addo is wrong, and why would you want him to give-in prematurely, when he know something definitely was wrong with the election?"
The answer is this..
1. He was wrong at the very beginning of his campaign by being overconfident, assuming that the presidency was his personal property and was there for his taking.
He had bet his life on the unceasing rife in NDC, the various national debt payment scandals, the very fact that the founder of NDC was even against his own NDC party; and the sweetest and most welcoming news of all was the formation of NDP (a splinter group of NDC headed by Nana Konadu).
2. He did promise to win the presidency "at all cost", "by all means".(As an educated man he shouldn't have said that.... as people could interprete it as employing every trick in the game to win the presidency through any means including through foul means) In fact, he had backed his words by going to court to challenge the legitimate president of Ghana.
3. His personal Ego wouldn't allow him to concede defeat.
4. He was trying to impress his NPP supporters to retain him as future presidential candidate.
So, you see, Nana did everything WRONG!

Yesterday my country made me proud! Yes, there is no other way to put it. Although I have been out of the country for over two decades and have not been following events there for a while, like most Ghanaians I was sitting on tenterhooks ever since the NPP challenged the 2012 election results. I was even more alarmed when I read some of the vitriolic comments leading up to yesterday's verdict and told myself: "Please, Lord, let my country not make a fool of itself in the eyes of the world. Let everyone involved accept the verdict because that is an integral part of the *Democracy* we have become. In such a system, things don't always happen our way but the ability to accept the outcome, especially when the decision emanates from the highest court of the land, is the way that system is designed to work. Sometimes we win, and sometimes we lose, but we are bound by the civility that system imposes on all of us to accept the results and move on."
So, again, my fellow Ghanaians, especially those of you at home, you are the best! You showed the world that we can disagree but yet live in harmony as opposed to descending into mayhem. I say that in the full knowledge that those who felt the 2012 elections were stolen are struggling to come to terms with their disappointment, that it is taking a lot of effort to keep their emotions in check, but that is what makes them *Ghanaians*! They love their country as much as the NDC supporters and have decided that bygones must be bygones.
For that I salute them all. May the Republic of Ghana continue to show the way for Africa and indeed the world. And may Almighty God bless Nana Akuffo Ado and President Dramani Mahama for having the courage to handle the situation the way they did.
Long live Ghana!!!
