Ghana is free yet the tentacles of the octopus is around her. Ghana is rather dead. You are a prime example of what the author is saying. Despite the fact that the nation is suffering, you are sure bet of someone waving the magic wand to rights all the wrongs in our precarious society.

How I wish Antobam could be arround to see my eyes so much filled with tears that it is taking me to repeat the lines many times before I can comprehend. So we still have such people in Ghana! Untill ghana takes away these cheats and corrupt from our systems, we will wander in the desert not only 40 years but 40 times 7. We make funny claims one nation ,one people?,one destiny? even in a country where part pay school fees and the other part not. We are at the edge of entering into the jungle life-survival of the fittest.

Ben,
I am not surprised about your posting, especially anyone who writes in capital letters! I am first and foremost a Ghaanaian. My worry is not so much about the taxes that my businesses in Ghana pay that go down the drain, but the future of my grandchildren.
With your kind of mentality, you should actually thank God on Sunday, if you know Him, that someone was brave and principled enough to be called Dr Pink Sheet!

The above article is a perfect summation of the rot and gross mismanagement and destruction of Ghana.
It is unfortunate that the average Ghana interprets and understands the problems in Ghana only in one of two ways either in tribal terms or partisan terms. If the affiliations to any of these is favourable the person offers no criticism or voices against, however, if the relationship in unfavourable the no amount of persuasion will change the Ghanaian's mind.
Our in ability to reason holistically through issues to criticise or praise when it is necessary is what is destroying Ghana.

The matter of the Freedom Of Information Bill is another of the indicators of the absence of political accountability that characterizes our government structures. It is in the first place sad for us who advocate for it as a sine qua non for achieving transparency and hence the control of the political corruption which eventually will cause the collapse of our nation as an independent political and economic state in the comity of nations. The situation of people like Hon. Cletus Avoka can be likened to that of someone who is asked by a doctor to undertake the laboratory medical tests used in modern medical practice to diagnose the hidden deceases of the humsn body. He says "these tests are not a priority;I want to be cured". What Hon Avoka does not know is that in the modern democracy accountability is the most important principle after elections and transparency is the next in line, and a Freedom Of Information Law is critical to the regime of transparency. At this stage in the history of the Freedom Of Information Bill we must stop bothering with people like Hon Avoka. Their political roots lie in the soil of the discredited abandoned declarations of the 1982 "revolution" whose legacy is the belief that when you have political power you should use it to appropriate as much of the national resources as you can for yourself, your family, and then if there is still something left, for your political party associates. With such principles political power is not to serve the bigger Ghana entity. No real democratic principles are a priority for Ghana ;what is a priority is the "sgning of loan agreements"raising funds for development projets" etc. no matter that over the last 40 years or so these acts have been been precisely what our governments have been up to.

Yes we are ready for positive action to get the Freedom Of Info Bill Passed into Law; we have been deprived of our right to information for too long now.

You have really told us what the typical Ghanaian politician is. The task ahead of us is a daunting one but with determination we will succeed. Most of the politicians have nothing good for the country. Good will win over evil. Most of them are evil.
Why are they complaining that people calls them thieves? They should examine themselves and their behavior. They will see that they fit the tag.
