  In many countries atheits do NOT need to have schools, because the system favours secularism, meaning that teaching religious dogma in school is strictly prohibited such as it is compulsary to teach evolution, while it is prohibited to teach creation by refering to the bible or quran or any other religious text.
  
  Thereby atheists do not feel the same need to create schools, and many feel that the Christian schools aren't schools, but a cover for religious preaching using the cloak of science. You would also discover, that many universities, who have a high ranking dismiss students who have been enrolled in schools ruled by a religious organisation, since those schools or institutions are not deemed fit.
  
  So your argumentation falls short!

  Material evidence is the cornerstone of science as spiritual belief emanating from personal intuition is the cornerstone of faith. Wisdom comes from experience, people have observed nature and certain manifestations in life(signs) and have accepted that such can only be but for some invincible power behind the scene. So for the one who only deals with what he see(material), refusing to appreciate wonder(atheist)except for one that he can attribute reason to, and one appreciates the fact that there is a cause for every effect,(nothing happens without reason), I dont see one being more intelligent than the other but the way each person choses to see it.

  It is interesting how the atheist thinks the burden of proof for the existence of God is on the believer. You have more to prove to humanity when you say there is no God than someone who believes there is a God. Saying there is no God means you have infinite wisdom to know He does not exist, which in fact makes you a god (because you are all knowing). There are so many intangible things in this world that both the believer and unbelievers cannot dispute exists such as love, the wind, evil etc. You cannot test these things in the lab but we believer they exist because of experience. Experience is key, God does not force Himself into the lives of humanity, if you do not seek you will not find, the redemption of Christ is a gift, has to be received. If love could be tested there will be no divorce so the augment of no God is NOT an intellectual decision but rather a moral one.

  For ALL have sinned and come SHORT of the glory of God. Man is NOT a god, that is an agnostic deception. Man was made in the image of God not an addition to the Trinity. Intuition has lead many astray and it is a good as you are it does lived above your moral convictions. A relationship with Christ is not based on denomination or creed or affiliations, it is based on your zeal to be like Christ. Worshiping in isolation is not encouraged that is why there is a need to fellowship with other believers. Just like an athlete or a performer, you don't perfect your craft in isolation but in the company of others with the same aspirations and same or better skills. Don't discount being a follower of Christ by comparing yourself with a bad believer, who finds genuine currency by comparing fakes, you always compare it with a real one. Its good to have a mentor in Christ but your yardstick is Christ not another human being.

In Jn.8:58, Jesus said before Abraham, I was...Jesus is not man becoming a god but rather God becoming man. So what is the incoherence in the statement that man is not God. Jesus was never a man who became God but God becoming man. Do not detest Him, accept Him.

  Christian religion was deliberately brought to Africa to aid in the suppression of it's people. A religious person is less likely to rebel in the face of oppression so the white man, armed with this knowledge, used religion as a tool of subjugation. Another tool that the colonisers used was language, just see how the whole continent has been carved up between the English and the French and others!
  But even the white man in his wildest dreams still cannot believe how successful his plan has worked. Just take a look round the world and show me a people more divided, more deprived, more repressed, more unintelligent than the people of Africa!
  The effect is still a very tight grip on religion by Africans at a time when there is abundant information available that disproves the existence of god, where we see the abandonment of religion by the very people who brought it to us - what on earth are we still doing with it?

  A first university is established by Africans. People from other nations comes to study and get graduated. Without any tangible reason, they turn around and burn the whole edifice to wipe off history.
  Its just like Africa that sat aloof to be colonised by outsiders and changed the outlook; religion and culture.
  
  Now, How do you convince me these Africans were powerful?
  
  Here are series of scenarios that tells me the young African that my people were nothing but stooges and not so powerful as were manipulated.
  
  The whiteman comes down to Africa from nowhere and takes him into slavery. Carried them across the sea to other lands. As powerful as they African are like you said, how were they forced into hard labour, indecent assaults on their women, stole the gold.
  How then were African brainwashed if were as smart as you said?
  How then the African couldn't tap into their own God given potentials to succeed in life?
  
  The answer is simple: Smart but not so smart.
  
  WE have every natural resources you can think of that makes the entire world tick. But we have not got the capabilities to unearth, use and develop them.
  The 'smart people' have gotten hold of the "smart but Not So Smart people"
  They've capitalize on our short comings and taken advantage of us.
  
  In short, the African was created different.(Need we question the creator?)
  The average African knows that, Nyamesom, Kristosom, Abosomsom, Nkramosom, all in concert, have done more harm than good. We wish we could get rid of them but don't know how.
  Do you call this smartness?

  Such would likewise be completely wrong. Atheists find as much joy and purpose in life as everybody else. That you dont believe in a life after death might actually mean that some atheists enjoy this life even more, because they realise how valuable the time right now is and that everything in life is temporally so we have to enjoy and embrace the moment, because one day it is gone.

  From generation to generation.
  And that is a fact.
  
  No one has ever died and came back.
  Jesus Christ of Nazareth was the only one who promised his followers that he would come back. Unfortunately, he is not back yet as Peter and them waited in vain till they all went the very way Jesus went.
  To date, no one has denied or confirmed the dead coming back.
  
  Okomfo Anokye of blessed memory did promise he was going to come back.
  I guess he would be on the same train with Jesus which no one 'nose' except God nose.
  Did we get brainwashed or deceived?

  I like to mock the intelligence of Atheists in the West, because they are the same guys who opposed the communist stance of no religion from 1930s to the 1990s and yet today, after re-butting their super brains, they have come to the conclusion, that after all Russia was right. I just don't trust these militant secularists or atheists.
  
  The world in its majesty, is shrouded in mysteries and diversities and that is what intelligence is and not some lying day to day affairs of individuals with a vendetta to over prove themselves.

  PS: if science was a different religion, wouldn't christians engaged in science, I mean people like Newton and Kepler were christians, so they were not christians since they worshipped more than one religion? How about the many Ghanaian scholars like Kissi, Appiah, Ampofo or Dickson?

  Nobody is perfect, but it is as even arrogant, or even more to believe that religious folks got it all right. Science dont even proclaim superiority, that is why things most be peer reviewed over and over and over again to falsify and/or verify a certain theory. Scientists and scholars alike know that they might have gone certain things wrong. You rarely hear a religious person say that he or she might be wrong about god after all.
  
  I fnd it even laughable to call atheists arrogant. They believe that they are here by chance, and there is no specific purpose in life, whatever purpose there is, they have have to create one, like having friends, start a family, get children, find work that makes sense to them, see the purpose in life when they wake up one morning and look into the eyes of their loved one and realizing how lucky they are.
  
  Religious believe a God made this planet just for them, and God made them for a special purpose. I find that arrogant.
  
  Atheists are nice to people without expecting something in return like going to heaven. Religious people are nice so they can go to heaven. Meaning they dont care about their fellow man, but they care about themselves. I find that arrogant.

  How do you know religious people are not nice to their fellow man because they have to go to heaven. In fact, the christian religion ask all her worshipers to love their neighbors. They are humans and may or may not adhere to this instruction from the bible.
  I am not arguing for just Christianity because it is not the only religion. Man.

  Yes Buddhism. Buddhists do not believe in God but in some sort of cosmic force. Buddha never claimed to be God and warned his followers not to worship him. The highest level of reincarnation a person can acheive in Buddhism is to become a buddha himself and so not have to be reincarnated again in this world but in another, spitirual world - Nirvaneh.

  so you seek to Nicodemusly destroy them. Sociology, proves there are many beliefs without God. Yes, someone can declare and believe in a team and worship it, what is wrong with that?
  All religions try to understand and find answers to nature just like science.
  Say what you want about Buddhism and what about Confucianism, Eckankar,Scientology, Unitarians,etc.

  I think it’s about time we had this debate in Africa its long overdue and I don’t care how much the evangical who like to shout on long distance buses feel threatened by it. At the end of the day scientific knowledge is increasing along with the understanding of the universe, at one time many thought tides were controlled by a God.
  
  Or that Gods controlled the Moon or Sun, now science has explained both phenomena, speaking about the Sun in my opinion most religions come out of the worship of the sun and the moon.
  
  It makes sense in a way if you’re living in East Africa over 100,000 years moving from Tanzania, Kenya, Somalia, and Ethiopia up to Egypt and just learning new farming methods.
  
  Through seed planting and having to rely on the sun and rain to help your food grow; with no science to explain how the Sun works or even were the wind comes from, I suppose you’ll look for some divine explanation especially if the elements have a strong influence on your survival.

But has everything to do with spiritual blessing to decern that, indeed human being and for that matter, everything around us (both seen and non seem )were made by a suprem God. This wonderful truth is made know when individual humble themselves and pray. Such truth makes individuals to conduct themselves in accordance with the will of God. Again the bible says that, the fear of God is the begging of wisdom but it doesn't say it is the begging of intelligent. Mr atheist you mis the point once again so back off and come again.

  I do think though that there is another factor to consider though that might be skewing the conclusions of this study. I think that for the most part, people with lower intelligence simply don't convert (or de-convert) from the religion of their youth. It takes a certain level of intelligence to think past everything you've been taught, and consider other options. In a society where the default belief system is Christianity, only those who have reason to question the status quo will change their religious identity.
  
  I concede the point that atheists are more intelligent than your average Christian. Just like how in any minority religious group you will find people more committed and more spiritual than Christians. If of course you take the average spirituality level of all who claim Christianity as their religion.
  
  As soon as it becomes more "cool" to be an atheist rather than a Christian, then all the "followers" will flock to the other side, and the overall intelligence level of atheists will drop significantly.
