It is only to forestall any mishap likely to occasion the verdict, and to ensure total peace that we all join the chorous of "let peace reign".

The 1st step to deepen Ghana's democracy, as far as electoral misunderstandings are concerned would be over when judgement is given on 29th August.

Let's take the 2nd and the MOST IMPORTANT STEP, by ensuring that no
one dies or even receives a punch. This is also possible and let's all

It makes no sense to give a judgement date, and we are seeing the results of picking a specific date. The EC should have just released the judgement when they came to a conclusion (or course inform pertitioners and respondents first immediately before the release), within a certain set time frame. Choosing a Friday if they must set a date would have been better than Thursday because there is a natural psychological tendency to “bury” bad or troubling news ahead of the weekend, and also give security folks the extra weekend days to do some more strategizing if they sense trouble.

The only conspiracy theory there is which has been swept under the carpet for fear of recrimination is that Atuguba has conspired with the President to give him his vote as a favor for appointing his dear nephew as the Executive Secretary to the President.Nephew and Uncle have maintained communications during the entire proceedings and inner workings of the court and developments have been passed on to the respondents. The petitioners have an upward battle to climb as they are starting off with a deficit with one vote clearly secured in the other camp. If you think this contrived, you just wait and see who Atuguba will vote for.

Conspiracy is when people plan secretly to work against or seek the downfall of somebody. But you are trying to say the date 29th August has some "magical powers" that will cause the ruling of the nine judges in the election petition to be in favour of NPP because the Progress Party (PP) of Kofi Abrefa Busis was declared winner of the so-called "most liberal" election of the Second Republic on 29th August 1969. This kind of thinking or association borders on what we call "superstition".
