Your situation gets worse with the economic drain through your wastage of fuel, the psychological pressure and stress and medical threat. On every Wednesday and Thursday at 6pm, starting from 11th September there will always be a drama performance. Spend a few hours there to relive the stress. So, why stress out in traffic when you should de-stress at the theatre. The programme starts with Abeiku Sagoe's 'In Daddy's Closet'.

Do you seriously believe the Ghanaian Justice System deserve our respect. I am a firm believer in the old adage; "RESPECT IS EARNED NOT DEMANDED" As someone whose 14yr old Cousin was put in police custudy until my Uncle could raise money to pay the police.All this over a playing ground scuffle between two boys of the same age, and despite the fact that there was no injury to either of them. Firstly he was held in contravention of Clause4 of Article15 of the Constitution by being held in the same cell as adults and the fact that his parents were not informed and he was questioned without the presence of his parents or a responsible adult, as prescrbed.I can tell you, for a fact, that the Ghana Justice system is nothing short of a sham,and injustice is a daily occurance in Ghana and the perpetrators are the very same institutions formed to ensure Justice is free for all and not just for those who can aford to pay the bribes. I'm sorry but I do not hold the Ghanaian Justice System in high esteem.

how can you release somebody who is guilty of his offends to the deffend attorney as a birthday gift? are we not joking and creating a Scenario whereby any Senior lawyer who know the People at the bench gotting away with impunity ?
I was truely impressed about the concerned of the panel-especially the Passion at which justice Atuguba spoke to help clean the political dirt Society in the Country which is irritating our Young growing Democracy but i was not impressed about the fine of Adorye and his cuttuing spreer, as for sir John a lawyer who suposed to know better -5,000 cedis was a lightweight guilty fine.

This article fails to give glory to the role played by Divine intervention.The Almighty God showed that He indeed, is a prayer answering God. He listened to the many fasting and prayers and supplications from NPP members across the country. This just phase one. The second phase will be on the judgement day. The Lord still has the hearts of the judges in His hands. At the end of the day it is his counsel that will prevail. It will not be by might of incumbency, or by obscene use of power and intimidation by a drunkard, but by the Spirit of God, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. Lawyer Ayikoi in fact saved Atuguba from shame. After the concert in court, Atuguba could not sentence the contemnors to jail, nor could he totally absolve them. To appease everybody, the panel of judges decided on omposing the fines, knowing very well that the two contemnors will not have to pay the fines from their own pockets. For that matter, they themselves will not suffer directly for the crime they were supposed to have committed.
Shame unto Atuguba. We understand Atuguba is referring the Young Patriots to the Peace Council because they, too, have written to the panel of judges to bring to their attention statements that have been made by four other person's which could be considered as contemptuous. We will remember how Sir John's case was first mentioned at court: Atuguba reported that it had come to the notice of the judges that one Sir John had made some statements which could be intepreted as contemptuous, so they were going to investigate it and take the necessary action. This presupposes that the court did not hear the comments directly but from reports from several sources including the media.
What stops the same court from investigating the rumours in the same media and elsewhere that some four persons have also made supposedly contemptuous comments, but rather refer the case to the Peace Council? Is the Peace Council an arm of government or of the courts?
Shame unti Atuguba. We never knew he was such a good orator, considering how hesitant he has always been when contibuting to issues during the court proceedings. Atuguba's performance confirms all too well what our ancestors have said all along: that whenever someone is telling a lie, it shows in his presentation - coughings and distractions, unnecessary pauses and all. That is exactly what Atuguba has been doing all along, until those two days when he had had to give judgement on two NPP strong men. Then come and listen to Brofo and eloquence!

Sammy Awuku was freed when he apologized and got some lawyers to apologise for him. Atubiga apologized on his own behalf and got his sentence mitigated so what is special about Ayikoi Otoo apologizing but still getting his clients convicted. The Judges said themselves that they took the tension in the country into consideration in pronouncing judgment, so what is this hullabaloo about Ayikoi being so great? Why are we so easily lowering bars in this country?

This beats a situation in our country's history where bandits and murderers were hired to pick up judges with contentious opinions, kill and burn them (Their busts are in front of Ghana's High Court - Martyrs of the Rule of Law). Ghana has come a long way indeed. The real importance of these legal battles, is the fact that, they display Ghana's growing political maturity and the strengthening of The Rule of Law in our Society. Well done to both the defendants and the plaintiffs.
