All this nonsense about taking the President to court for contempt and asking him not to comment on the case wouldn't have been happening in the first place if that unconventional and unconstitutional CI has not been enacted to sue a seating president or a president elect in an election dispute. Sheer stupidity only developing people can think of!

The way and manner that CI 78 (16), fraught with many errors when being passed, has brought the presidency into disrepute and exposed the presidency to abuse is beyond belief to those few of us who understand these things in the principles of governance. Fact is, the President CAN SIMPLY NOT BE SUED IN PERSON, as happened in Ghana! But now that he has been sued, he has every right to make statements on the case, so long as they are not prejudicial, but even if prejudicial, his immunity protects him from any legal action. Only Parliament can commence action against the person of a sitting President through the process of impeachment. Any individual action in the courts will fail.

The State should have been made the first respondent in that CI and the EC the, servant of the State, the 2nd respondent. I hope the intellectually bankrupt lawyers, together with the equally porous judges, running the country who don't understand these white men theories we are copying and saw nothing wrong with seizing a military ship on a friendly visit shall wake up from the backwardness and take action to remove that CI from the law books.

Imagine it was an unpopular seating President that was defeated in an election upon using all means to intimidate and cheat and he decided to petition. Won't it be ridiculous to take the much battered president-elect to court for cheating or election malpractices, whatever, when the man had no control over the State apparatus during the elections? Think about that!

The much fraught with errors CI 78 is to blame for all the nonsense people have been directing at Mahama, and thereby belittling the office of the Presidency. As for the SC, they have a singular chance to bolster the image of the judiciary as an independent arm of govt, capable of not being dictated to or swayed by the politicians. Let them wield the big axe.

I have full confidence in the supreme court, they have demonstrated to me that they fully understand the importance of their role. You should not look at your vote or support as you may do with your football team because there are so many issues at stake. The life expectancy, the future of your children, the standard of living, the cost of living etc. In all of these fields we are far behind other countries so ask yourself why? Be a responsible adult and do not put your live on the line supporting one party against the other no matter what. Let the supreme court do their work, there are many AMIDUS working for your interest so be prepared to accept what ever verdict they may pronounce.

Why is Ghana today taking over by stupid people, especially NPP political machinery proving too much incompetent and in love with the creating of confusion, that they have left the running of the party affairs in the hands of irresponsible guys within the party.

Is it an intentional move that they are hiding behind the foolish ones, the youth group so that they see the reaction of the Ghanaian public? The reation of the people will surely vary but it should be understood that Mahama is accused of stealing election, therefore there is nothing to hold him back when he says he has done nothing wrong and hence judgement could be on his side. An accused thief has every right to say he is innocent and therefore the judges will set him free.

It is time NPP as a party start to know that Ghana does not belong to a party, since with this political behavior of crating confusion here and there intentionally can also at a stage call in the military. Do not think that Ghana is for political parties only. There are people who read the army better than political parties, all the judgements debt deals and stealing of government lands by politicians both of the NPP and the NDC, in short do you think these behaviors are steps in a right direction or wrong direction?. To be a party does not give you a priviledge over others as we are all the owners of the nation.

On the other hand, Nana Akuffo Addo has shown class, civility and confidence throughout this court process by staying away from making ANY comments. I think this demeanor could ONLY be informed by his deep democratic credentials and the hardcore truth and evidence in the petitioners' case before the Supreme Court!!!

It's obvious which party in the case is NERVOUS and which is NOT. Mahama's constant claims of having done nothing and pleading to the court in the public sphere to rule in his favour is a CLEAR show of nervousness after seeing the petitioners producing OVERWHELMING evidence of RIGGING scheme by respondents before the court.
