This Deputy Minister is a moron. The facts and statistics are clear for all to see.the agric sector declined from 7.2pct in 2008 to now a pathetic 1.3 percent in 2012.... And that is not a decline? This is really team Z!

Does Dr Afriyie Akoto think that ghanaians are fools? What did the NPP government of Kuffuor do to promote food security for Ghana? When ghanaian maize farmers were finding it hard to get their maize bought in Ghana Kuffuor was importing maize from America. At a time when almost the whole world had rejected american beef because of CJD Kuffuor was importing beef from America. Is this the way forward to incentivize farmers to produce more food to make the nation self-sufficient in food production? I hope Dr Akoto is not telling ghanaians that under Kuffuor's NPP government unemployment in the country was solved and that it has worsened under the current government.Sometimes it does not pay to be economical with the truth and i hope Dr Akoto will be mindful of that.

You don't simply have to label the MP a liar b'cos he is an NPP. By that he is being economical with the truth, readers would have wished you buttress your point with atleast some figures to diffuse the MP's claim but you, as well as the incompetent minister, woefully failed to convince anybody to believe otherwise. Facts, they say, are sacred but comments are free, Else you won't be here displaying your crass ignorance to 'forumers' which make me think you are one of the old school standard seven drop out.

Cassava, Yam, Plantain and Cocoyam are seasonal and the minister has failed by saying its only Rice that is short supply. I would like to see the ministers face when he was making that comment. Rice is not only but food every Ghanaian eats and live on, and a minister who is suppose to make sure we have food is telling us we are short of Rice. He knows ghana has no Rice and what is his job?
John Mahama dont have a government if a Minister can be that stupid. If there is no Rice in Ghana and a minister know and there is Rice and going on media saying it is shameful. That is the minister who should make sure we have Rice. He failed he didnt get us the Rice we need and cant tell us when we should be expecting and what went wrong we ran out of Rice.
The minister must be sacked for knowing what Ghanaians dont have Rice and didnt do anything to stop it from happening. This is a minister who waits for Ghana to run out of Rice before he starts thinking of what to do.
Shame.
