I supported Otchere-Darko's call for PV Obeng to be recused from chairing the GYEEDA report review committee in the belief that he knew what he was talking about when he publicly stated that PV Obeng had any association with the Agams Group.

If indeed it is not true that PV has anything to do with the company, I wholly apologise for suggesting that he be excused (based on principle and not corruption as I stated).

However in that case, Otchere-Darko does not only owe all of us and Mr Obeng a public apology, he has to learn to get his facts right before he misleads the public in this way.

I am appalled by this really. That is the trouble with trying to politicise everything under the sun!

But before this, Gabby was saying that he was informed and that he could be wrong befor Chris came in with his information. These our elders, we must be very careful with them as they have their fingers in all things. Recall there was a story about a millipede in the early 90s.

It's a pity how many who comment on this site do so hastily without taken the time to either do due diligence or check out facts before opening up their arguments and responses.The simple case is Rlg Group of Companies Ltd, Agam Holdings Ltd has come out boldly that they don't have shares in Keta Salt Industrial Estates. Yes Chris Ackumey and PV.Obeng are members of Keta Salt Industrial Estate so what is the conflict of interest here? Gabby should come out with a rejoinder to prove his case beyond reasonable doubts that Rlg Group of Conpanies, Agam Holdings ltd has a share in Keta Salts Industrial Estates. Gabby has a habit of peddling lies about well meaning people in our society who seems to hold alternative political views. Here is a guy who with Kweku Baako made us know some time ago that Ex-President Rawlings had kept millions of Ghana's money in Switzerland and they travel on many occasion with the purpose of bringing to Ghanians every detail information about the accounts. Where did it end up too? This same guy made Ghanians aware that he was in Pennsylvania University to give a lecture on Kwame Nkrumah whereas there is nothing in the world called Pennsylvania University. This guy has a problem and needs help.

I have been a supporter of Rlg but trust me, if they are found wanting anywhere, I will give my honest critical opinions of the company and that is what civil society is about.

My argument about PV Obeng's chairing of the GYEEDA report committee I made very clear, was not based on conflict of interest, but one of principle and for the avoidance of doubt as a 'smart' thing in the light of the political sensitivity of the issues. In fact, I was trying to be helpful to those in charge of the issue, rather than commenting for sake of it.

As an objective commentator however when someone e.g. Otchere-Darko (whom you know full well is no fan of mine) makes a statement such as was reported here (and thank you for qualifying it, suggesting even he wasn't sure), I support a sensible position or proposal even coming from him.

On the other hand, you are right, usually you find the names of these 'veterans' everywhere in all sorts of places as "board members, chairs" etc. which in itself is not a good thing. Unfortunately this is seen in other countries as well including in Europe and the US!!

Whether acting or permanent member makes no difference.

Now ask yourself one question. Why would a private company even think of putting so many members of the ruling govt on it's board? For what purpose? No wonder all these fat contracts are going to RLG with no accountability. I now understand why the term "create, loot and share" was used to describe the activities of this Govt.
NDC are really taking the piss and they are incompetent as well. Damn!!

The problem is the typical shoddy investigative work of our so-called news media (e.g. Gabby and his colleagues). A simple Google search shows that the said company is part of Zoomlion (also part of the GYEEDA corruption scandal) and not rlg and Agams Group of companies.

Calls himself a host is biased to the teeth! I watched last Saturday`edition of Newsfile programme and not could not believe how he misconducted himself by 'boxing' Nana Ato Dadzie and Chris Akume in with the kind of questions he addressed to them. Having tried to constrain them, he would not allow them to expouse on by what Tsikata meant by 'retrospective penalty' but kept interjecting their submissions. When a viewer to him to task on what he meant by the petitioners` "seminal address", he quickly took refuge with a rather strange explanation that he the case was a landmark one! What a funny guy who tried to hide his partiality for the NPP such a a lame excuse! Even some of us non-lawyers knew what Tsikata meant but oddly enough, he as as trained attorney, could not grasp the context within which that rationale was being advanced!
To make even more a mockery of the programme, he allowed Gabby to interfere with other guests like Chris Akumey.

I found comments made by both Kweku Baako and Gabby Otchere-Darko re;the SC`s summons Owusu Afriyie and Hopeson Adorye, and Gabby`s deliberate attempt to think for the Judges very unfortunate indeed. My point is,where does Kweku Baako derive his authority to challenge the panel`s decision to issue summons to individuals to appear before it? Aree some people in this country above the law or 'untouchable'? Of course we now know Otchere-Darko was propagating falsehood and blowing hotair when levelled charges of conflict of interest against P.V Obeng. We are watching to see what action Rlg will institute against this 'gyekodidi' lawyer who had a hell of a time passing his bar exams. Frankly, I can`t understand why Joy FM keeps inviting partisan individuals like Kweku Baako and Gabby,who incidentally opened the floogates to all the abuse that have been directed at the SC panel, especially the Presiding Judge ,Justice Atubuga.

Why would any private company pack its board with people in govt? Is that to enable them compromise them and get favours re contracts?

I'm sure you are 100% happy with the propaganda NDC panalists tend to do. What was wrong with what Gabby said? Kweku Bakoo actually did say if the judges do not act on Sir John and Hopeson's matter, it would seem like they are not applying the rules equally. NDC's Chris Ackumey said he was suprised the Judges had brought this up again and gave a proverb to butress his point about a hunter not shooting a wounded animal since he felt Sir John had suffered enough.

People like you Ama are so blinded by politics to the extent that if someone does not say what you want to hear, then they are wrong and you automatically block everything else they say. I guess you will prefer Joyfm to invite individuals who would only come and say what you want to hear. Grow up, be open minded and let you education shine through your reasoning.

Chris Ackumey of the NDC did confirm that PV Obeng and he Chris were on the board, but he further stated that PV Obeng was an acting board member. So what Gabby brought up was a fact. As to whether PV is an acting member or a permanent member is neither here nor there, he should not be heading this commission set up by the president.
