To me, diverse opinion on LBGT issue will forever be with us till thy kingdom come

I have always held an opinion that personal autonomy evokes the images of person in charge of his or her life. My questions are is it immoral choose your desires, what to wear. eat or drink, where to live and work and whom to love. Yes, whom to love are personal freedoms and chooses everybody cried for.

Well, those of us who value morality are yet to reconciled that a person is autonomous in a moral sense when he or she is guided by their own conception of happiness…….

What has it got to do with you or me if someone prefers something different from our own? The gay person is not having sex with you, or trampling on your human rights in any way, so what's your problem?

Remove the beam in your own eyes before pointing at the splinter in your neighbours eyes. Enough is enough. Use your times and energies profitably to advance your lives and those of your country instead of wasting them on insubstantial things which will not put food on your table.

We are in a modern world and the interpretation of the scripture must make reference to our existence not just a literally as stated. I believe that most of the words of the scripture are parables rather than simplistic statements and therefore, we all need the divine guidance to for interpretation. E.g do you know that according to the scripture -it is a sin for a man to 'shave his hair?. But this has become a fashion and how many of you have spoken about this. The Bible described Sodom and Gomorrah as so wicked that they saw nothing wrong with wanting to have homosexual affair with the angels God had sent to destroy them for their evil.
Even Lot who came to settle among them got influenced with their evil to the extent that he was willing to offer his daughters to them to satisfy their sexual desires in order to save them from committing homosexuality with the angels. This bargain did not work because the men of Sodom and Gomorrah insisted on having homosexual affairs with the angels so they rushed on the angels to rape them. But these were angels so they made these evil men blind to avoid being harassed. After the angels led the household of Lot out of the city to get them safe for the sake of Abraham who was Lot's uncle, God destroyed the wicked city with fire.

If all become gays and lesbians, there will be no humans one day. If the parents of those who are gays and lesbians, were also gays and lesbians how would they have been born? For a lesbian to give birth she will still require a sperm from a man. This implies, it takes a man and a woman to ensure procreation. Why do gays want a right to adapt children?. If the other parents were also gay, how would you get a child to adapt? I have no slightest hate for gays and lesbians. As always, they want to matter best when they point fingers at others’ sins, instead of focusing on their daily misdeeds which have fouled the four winds of the earth.

Our religion is hypocritical because instead of making us loving, honest and generous individuals, it has turned us into crass puritans who daily measure the sins of others in order to feel righteous. It is an act of moral grand-standing to finger-point what one personally views as the sins of others; it surely leads to glossing over one's own sins in order for one to have a false sense of one's own righteousness. That is what Pharisees do best. The truly good individual is the one who constantly searches himself or herself for traces of flaws, not the one pointing fingers at others for excuses to hate. Right does not mean righteous. To be righteous, one has to have the compassion and wisdom to grant each person his right to live, to laugh and to love. One has to look beyond the daily prescriptions of those who will kill for God, those who will hound the unholy other, or those the sum of whose religion consists in the magnification of another person’s sins.

The West itself only came to support the gays within the past forty years. But now that they've made the decision, through cultural and legal means, they are ruthlessly enforcing it.

Unlike the other moments in history when the western world exerted its titanic influence, the rest of the world (especially Eurasia -- Russia, the Middle East, India, and to a lesser extent, China) has rebelled against the decision instead of simply acquiescing to it as so often before.

Gay people make a convenient "scapegoat" for unleashing the resentments that African and Eurasian nations have built up against Western power over the years. They're "nation-less", despised, dispersed in numbers, and make soft targets, since
they don't arm themselves like terrorists.

I think it's cowardly to attack gays at all, let alone use them as geopolitical targets against European and American culture, or for demagogues to use them for cheap popular appeal.

The Churches and Mosques are merely the organisms through which this attack legitimizes itself.

Lastly, don't expect much support out of Latin America. The churches there will eventually follow western opinion on the gays since it's "whiter" and more fashionable.

No one in Europe will bat an eye over what Desmond Tutu has said, why is it that Africans have been left way way behind in the area critical thinking? Why has Africans taken it upon themselves to do God's dirty work, why doesn't he do it himself?
