All of a sudden nonentities want to portray to the world how close they were to the late President.
Those who had to chat with him for one hour everyday, those Deputy Ministers who had to call him every morning before the man could even brush his teeth, and still those who would be called to the Castle by the late President to express his appreciation for job well done after they had gone to insult political opponents in the media on his behalf. Shameless id.iots raising their egos

REVERT TO OHENE DJAN STADIUM, NOW!
the topic of the AMA being caught in National Democratic Congress politics, especially with the decision to remove the name Ohene Djan from the signpost of the sporting edifice in Accra.
Expect the bearded Mayor to defend his corner. He insisted that the changing of the name was in respect of the exercise of the right of the AMA to name streets and monuments in the national
capital. I put it to him that the renaming of the Jubilee House to Flagstaff House was without the input of the AMA, and that when the Black Star Square became Independence Square the AMA never
raised a finger. I assured him that so long as some of us continue to live, Ohene Djan would be back. He threatened to summon me before the full assembly of the AMA to show why I should not be
disciplined for flouting the rules of the assembly. I assured him that I was prepared to face the Sanhedrin. OKO IS WAY IN OVER HIS HEAD. IF OKO VANDERPUIJE SHOULD CONTEST THE ACCRA MAYORAL JOB
AGAINST A BEARDED, HAIRLIKE MONKEY FROM THE BUSH OF GH NATIONAL COLLEGE.. TRUST ME, THE MONKEY WILL WIN!
HOW CAN YOU COWTE TO THE DEMANDS OF THESE NON TAX PAYING, NON EDUCATED GA YOUTHS N CHANGE THE NAME OHENE DJAN TO ACCRA SPORTS STADIUM. IS OKO ON DRUGS?
THE AMA DOES NOT OWN THE STADIUM. IT IS PUBLIC PROPERTY OWNED BY THE GOVT OF GH. JUST BCOS THE STADIUM IS IN ACCRA DOES NOT MEAN THAT AMA OWNS IT. IF AMA WANTS TO OWN THE STADIUM.
THEY SHOULD BUY THE STADIUM FROM THE GOVT OF GH. THE ONLY RIGHT TO NAME CHANGING AMA HAS IS WITH THE PRIVATELY OWNED PUBLIC TOILETS N GA MANTSE CHIFTANCY SEATS IN ABOSSEY OKAI, MANPROBI, TESHIE, NUNGUA ETC....
I DONT WANT HEAR ABOUT GA DISENFRANCHISING ETC. THATS TYPICAL INWARD LOOKING TALK. THE KMA HASNT CHANGED THE NAME BABA YARA. DO U SEE ANY DISENFRANCHISEMNT FROM THE ASHANTIS?
IF HE IS RENAMING PUBLIC/GOVT PROJECTS WITHOUT WARRANT. WAHT ELSE IS HE DOING UNLAWFULLY WITHIN THE AMA AND IN THE GREATER ACCRA REGION? IM SURE HE IS SERIOUSLY EMBEZZLING MONEY..WAAAAAAA. EMBEZZLING AMA MONEY WAAAA WAAAAA!

With all respect to KB Asante, I disagree with his contribution because the AMA Boss did not have that power to change the name of a National Asset. The President certainly and rightfully did his job perfect. He should bring him to order.

......Meanwhile, K. B. Asante has expressed reservations about the name-change saga but nonetheless said the president should not have intervened in the whole affair. So all knowing and spent-out Ga-Dangme President-for life K B Asante, what is the meaning of what you have said? What is your reservation about the name change? Tell Ghanaians what they are NOW! Mr. KNOW EVERYTHING if you say the President should not have intervened, then who should? Did you want Ghanaians to call on you to intervene? Were you happy because the 91 year old woman was being deprived of such a LIFETIME HONOR? I will not be surprised if you and your GA-DANGME GROUP are behind this name changing craze of the unkempt bearded foolish Accra Metro. Chief Executive dr. Oko Vanderpuiye. He started with the Ohene Djan Stadium (spurred on By the ga-dangme group) next time he will ask that you and your family change the name ASANTE because you are in Ga/Accra and must therefore not bear the name ASANTE (Ashanti). FOOLS AND MAGGOTS ALL AROUND!!!!!!!

They are the same group who spearheaded the change of the name of the stadium in Accra. KB Asante at the time, did not "express any reservations" to date. KB Asante as well as a few other pseudo-intellectuals affiliated to that group of small-time anarchists must come clean on this issue and stop behaving like chameleons.

this "i'm a christian" attitude must stop. we are building a nation and we must stop at nothing until we achieve finesse.
how can you categorize such a stupid blunder as little. madam we respect and revere you. kindly stay out of this and allow the right thing to be done.
and the government should act and act swiftly. this should not be swept under the carpet. he cannot go changing names of national edifices in the name of common blunder. i am watching with eagle eyes.

Vanderpuije's actions show a classic disregard for the concerns of all other stakeholders in the stadium, but at the same time, what he was trying to accomplish was not necessarily bad/evil. The unintended consequence was what is really bad about this saga.
Bigger issue is how people in power in Ghana disregard the general populace and go about doing the first thing that comes to mind...not all of those turn out well as we have seen. We need to change this way of governance. That said, this really isn't cause for firing the man. People have done much worse...his overall goal was not malicious so why crucify him

Great accra minister has question to answer. Who made the decision and why Okoh and that particular place?
One of the few Ghanaians stil living who design our nation flag we name a place after her name. The woman is not ever dead yet, yet John Mahama and the Mayor of ACC think they can clear her name and put Mills there.
Sorry to say What has Mills done for Ghana. He was a teacher at Lagon, give him a street name.
The Flag is what is Ghana. Our ID can never be taken away from Ghanaian. If John Mahama and ACC Mayor think they can put red gold green and a black together to make sense, Ghanaians wouldnt be going round with no work to do.
Very clever is Theodosia Okoh, able to take gold green red colours plu a black star to make this thing we all look up to.
Our beloved Flag.
Ghanaians shouldnt be forgiving people like the Mayor and John Mahama. How devil can anybody be to think about charging them.
Mills is dead and we will forget him like we forgot Afirifa.

Some people are behaving as if it is a crime to change name of national edifice. The Highway from Achimota Police Station through Dimples - 37 to T-Juction used to be called Giffard Road. It was named after Sir Giffard for using that road to move his headquarters from Achimota police station to present day Burma Camp. What happened to the portion from Dimples to 37? Former Prez Kufour changed the name to Obasanjo highway and nobody complained, so why are some people complaining now?
