Sekou is right in saying that the late Mills imposition on NDC by Rawlings was a big mistake. However, I do not understand what he means by he should have served only one term because though Mills was due for re-election for a second term, he died before the end of his first term.

Mills was a sick man and other people were in-charge and that is what probably made Rawlings angry and led to his criticisms of Mills since he felt he should have been in-charge instead of the others.

Again, Sekou should know that Kufuor's legacy was secured in his second term so be a little soft on Mills and his lack of legacy.

Rawlings was already complaining about corruption in his government to the point of asking the Queen of England to help him with corruption, and the fact that everybody turned to loathe whatever he stood for influenced his perception about how the NDC party would fare after him.

In fact, we all, not excluding the loud-mouth Sekou, believed Mills would be charismatic and burnish a new image for his government and NDC as a party.

Rawlings also knew Mills was not such a megalomaniac personality that would think too high of his leadership to indulge in power-drunk behavior that spawns all those ills around leadership positions such as theft, as it was with Kufuor, and he was religious.

Sekou should tell us what he has done for the country as a politician instead of criticizing someone gone long ago. Is Mills the cause of the strife in the country right now?

Do you know how much Kufuor inherited when he first took over? Ask your stupid leaders, if you have no idea.

NDC had licked the coffers clean, yet Kufuor's legacy is unequalled because of his exemplary leadership. As a government, you can possess all the money in the world, but if the President doesn't have the initiative to righteously lay down life-changing policies, he'll never pass as a good leader. Prof Mills failed; he can't be remembered or credited for anything special, except for his own Party people to say that he was a humble man. What will people eat when they're hungry? Food or humility? I think Sekou hit the nail right on the head.
