That is, there must be a strict selective procedure of who should be a candidate in every party before the vote begins.

It is good that the fact that insecurity in the Gulf of Guinean is a regional challenge was noted in their discussions. Solution to this challenge still lies primarily in sincerity of purpose among ECOWAS member states especially Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo Benin and of course Nigeria that has the longest coast in the gulf. All the mentioned country members have what it takes to confront this problem and reduce Sea Crimes within the sub-region to the barest minimum, but sincerity of purpose appears to be lacking amongst them due to various reasons which are not tenable, as far as importance of security is concerned. We have been divided enough by the colonialists and it is high time for us to put our heads together and find enduring solution to the lingering problem.
