The notion of a fiscal responsibility bill to help check the spending power of the executive is no doubt a fine proposal. But I have a problem with IMANI's tendency to seek foreign approval and authentication. Why discuss or develop an important national bill with the World Bank, thereby potentially deepening foreign (Washington's) influence on such serious national matters as economic policy and state-building? Do they think US think tanks would work with foreign powers to develop bills for the US? Why can't IMANI work in tandem with other local institutions, including Parliament and other CSOs, to bring about such a bill? After all these years, are we still fooling ourselves that the World Bank offers a neutral policy advice?

In comes NDC, in comes GREED and everything is flying through the roof! In the NDC there are clearly an army of Ghanaians whose only intention is to loot the public purse. So Mr IMANI man get your facts right. You want an example? Asiedu Nketia is made Chairman of Bui Dam Project and then he opens a block factory to supply blocks to the project. In England this is 'conflict of interest' and this man shamelessly defends it. He builds a mansion in record time and he openly defends it. You appoint Fiifi Kwetey a minister and quickly he finishes a degree. Loads of examples. Mr Think-Tank man do yor research well and identify the patterns, it does not take rocket science to recognise this.
