I hope money will be sent soon. This makes no sense. In fact the fees should be sent to the school directly so that the school can deal with the scholarship DIRECTLY.

We have seen all parties in power before and had to choose and you can't do anything about that though you may be the wisest Ghanaian woman.No one can force himself on the electorate when some are of dubious credentials and got into certain positions due to family influence because of wealth.

It is bad to make commitment and refuse to follow through, the government should not put students in situations like this without honoring its obligation. Equally students must make it a point to go back home after the government has incurred huge sums of money for their upkeep. Is there not a not a proper channel of communication to resolve issues like this other than through the Ghana web? I will only resort to this medium of communication after all efforts have fallen on deaf ears. Or when the other party is too stubborn to listen like my pompous big brothers.

Waste of money. You pay so much to educate people in the UK and USA but a fraction of that sponsorship can upgrade a polytechnic in Ghana. This can give others with no political connections the chance to study.

In this day and age there's is no reason why the government should send Ghanaian students abroad to study on government scholarships. Unless of course those courses aren't offered by local universities in Ghana. To those on this thread chastising the affected students as lazy for not seeking employment off-campus, these people fail to understand that foreign students cannot legally work off-campus, without jeopardizing their legal status. The government has made a commitment to these students and therefore must pay the students’ fees on time.

Foriegn students are permitted by uk immigration laws to work 10 to 20 hours a week during term times and 40 hours or full time during holidays.
