Kofi Thompson please kindly stop deceiving Ghanaians with your deceit that Mahama act swiftly on stoping galamsey operators and the destruction of the ecosystem. The truth of the matter is that Mahama did not act at all.Instead of you congratulating those patriotic journalist who report the illegal activities and the consent citizens who wrote to critise Mahama for doing nothing but watch foreign nationals poison our waters, destroying the environment and food crops, and even killing natives and all that Mahama said was Ghanaians should not be afraid of the Chinese nationals.Ghanaians may recall when security personnels arrest Chinese galarmey operators took them to Kotokuraba to tell the chiefs and people that the Chinese folks are come to built the market for free and these folks want back to destroy the environment.I do not agree with Kofi Thomspson that mining companies destroying the environment and Ghana government waste tax payers money meant for development to use to repair environmental degradation. But rather Government should enact laws that any minig company that is doing either shaft or surface mining should repair the land for afforestation and also set up water treatment plant to purify the contaminated water before discharge the water back into river or stream.
