When Kwaku Baako informed us about the atrocities of Kwesi Pratt during PNDC Regime, some of us did not believe until the truth was confirmed during the NRC. Kwesi Pratt is the most dangerous Journalist Ghana had ever have, he had the gut to recommend his fellow journalists to be executed by PNDC. Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwesi Pratt can do. Now Pratt is a secret agent to NDC and US Embassy in Ghana. May God forgive Pratt and spare him the untold evils that will come upon him and his generations. The souls of those journalist killed through Pratt's recommendations to PNDC will never forgive Pratt. Now Pratt has the guts to take Diplomatic Passport and smuggled his weak-headed children to work at the Ministries under Mills NDC, may God forgive Pratt and his dependance and spare them of the evils ahead of them...

Even if you are poor, unemployed and struggling financially, now is the time to pay your tithes.

Nooooo!!! This is twisting and misquoting the Bible because we want to take money from the poor. The Bible says do not take tithes from the poor and needy. The poor are to benefit from the tithes. They are to be given tithes. Telling the poor to pay tithes, with promises that God would open the windows of heaven and pour blessings on them is a big con game.
The Bible says those with less than ten goats or sheep were exempted from paying tithes. God did not take tithes from the poor. Telling the poor and needy that if they don't pay tithes God has cursed them is the ultimate in greed and callousness.
Some pastors tell poor church members to pay tithes before their rent or children’s school fees and expect miracles. Some tell the congregation not to worry about what the tithe is used for. They say to just pay the tithes and leave the rest to God.

I wonder if there is a single sane and sound person in NDC. First of all, I say this Solomon Nkansah-Deputy Propaganda Secretary is a very ignorant man. Mensah Otabil never prophesied. It was an intuition from a concerned shepherd. Feeling some heaviness in my spirit does not constitute prophesy. A traveler to Takoradi goes to the station to board a bus to his destination. After going round the bus, he finds that all tyres are worn out. He has this feeling the bus is not safe to ride on till the tyres are changed. He tells other passengers about the dangers of the trip and admonishes them to impress on the owners to change the tyres. Is this prophesy? At a point in time when Israel rejected G-d as their King and said they wanted an earthly King, though it was a prophesy what will befall them if they towed that line, they still chose to go their own way by anointing Saul as King and we all know what happened thereafter. People in NDC today will insult Jesus in the face if he descends to tell them otherwise. That is why the country to date has no direction.

No topic excites many pastors more than tithes and tithing. Waxing eloquent, pastors with fiery zeal, would teach about how if you pay tithes God would bless you. How your business would flourish, how you would find that rich husband and how all would go well in your life. Blessings would flow like the Jordan River and life would be a bed of hibiscus petals. Conversely, you are also threatened and psychologically terrorized for not paying tithes- there would be no breakthroughs in your life, God would take away from you. Nothing would go well for you. Worst of all, you would be cursed by God because you have stolen from Him. Like the mighty spear of Goliath, Malachi 3:10 is launched at your heart.
"Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. But you ask, 'How do we rob you?' In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse - the whole nation of you - because you are robbing me." (Malachi 3:8, 9)
This verse has been used to intimidate many Christians into shelling out 10% of their income as tithes. It is probably the only verse in the Bible that many pastors quote when preaching about tithes. Other verses in Leviticus and Deuteronomy that shed more light on the issue are almost never mentioned. Church members are kept in the dark by design.
Was God rebuking the nation of Israel or the nation of levitical priests in Malachi? Malachi 2:1, explains further,"And this commandment is for you, O priests." God was actually rebuking the Levites for abusing the trust of the people. They were not fairly using the tithes for the poor and needy. God is a spirit and does not need food but He wanted the poor to be fed. The Levites were the ones under a curse.
Who received tithes?
Tithe was God’s way of specifically taking care of the orphans, widows, strangers and poor Levites in Israel. This was the only reason God wanted food in his house. God does not need food.
Deuteronomy 26:12, clearly states that when all the tithe is collected “then you shall give it to the Levite, to the stranger to the orphan, and to the widow, that they may eat in your towns and be satisfied.”
Deuteronomy 14:28-29 New International Version (NIV) "bring all the tithes of that year’s produce and store it in your towns, so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands."
Did Jesus, Mathew and Paul receive tithes?
Jesus was from the line of Judah so could not receive tithes. Only Levites from the line of Levi could receive tithes. Though the twelve apostles were men of God, they could not receive tithes because of their tribal lineage. How then can pastors today ask for tithes? Are they Levites? If the apostle Paul is not a Levite so could not take tithes why are some pastors taking tithes? The fact that one is a man of God does not qualify one to receive tithes. Even prophets and other men of God in the Bible, not from the tribe of Levi, could not benefit from tithes.
Did Jesus and his apostles pay tithes?
Tithe was never taken in fish or silver or cash. Paul as a tent-maker was not required to pay tithes. Peter as a fisherman did not pay tithes on fish he caught. That was the law of God. None of the twelve apostles could pay tithes because they were not farmers or shepherds/ herders.
Did Abraham, Noah and Jacob pay tithes?
Abraham did not pay tithes. He gave ten percent of the spoils of war to Melchizedek, King of Salem. God did not command Abraham to give. It was from his free will. Abraham did not tithe from his personal property, and there is no record in the Bible that he did.
Jacob also gave a conditional 10% to God which was not a tithe.
There is no record of Jacob paying any tithes after this. The traditional 10% in Middle Eastern societies is different from the legalistic mosaic tithe from God. The mosaic tithe was not optional, it was the law.
Without tithes, the message of the Gospel could not be preached
God in His infinite wisdom asked for tithes to be used for the poor and needy. God did not request tithes to be used for pastor's salary, cars, church organ or choir robes. God explicitly said use it to feed the poor Levites and the orphans, widows and strangers.
God does not need tithes to spread His word. The apostles gave their lives to spread the gospel of Christ without taking tithes from anyone. Many churches function perfectly today without tithes. We cannot disobey God with the excuse that we are spreading the gospel.

Some pastors tell poor church members to pay tithes before their rent or children’s school fees and expect miracles. Some tell the congregation not to worry about what the tithe is used for. They say to just pay the tithes and leave the rest to God.
Would paying tithes make you rich and prosperous?
The promise of breakthroughs and prosperity and material blessings is used as a bait to make many pour their hard-earned money into the bank accounts of some pastors. This is nothing but manipulation. If the gospel of Christ is about acquiring earthly possessions how come the apostle Paul was not rich? How come John the Baptist, Peter, John and the other apostles did not get financial breakthroughs? Many of Christ's apostles were persecuted and killed. Life was not rosy for them. Were they not blessed men of God? If you believe pastors who tell you that you would prosper financially if you pay tithes, then you need serious Bible study. People like Oprah Winfrey, Ted Turner, LeBron James etc. are very wealthy, but they do not pay tithes, they are not even Christians. If you believe paying tithes would open gates to riches for you, then you are in for great disappointment and cannot carry the cross of Christ.
Should I give to my church?
Yes, absolutely! Give to the church. Your offering helps the church a lot. Paul spoke about supporting the church. But give from your heart to God and expect nothing in return. Give because you love God. It is free-will, not a binding law like tithing. God had a special purpose for the tithes. It was to feed the poor and needy in society. It was to take care of the Levites who were poor, not wealthy pastors who have mansions, fancy cars and are far richer than most in the congregation
Should Christians pay tithes today?
Jesus and his apostles did not pay tithes, neither did they accept tithes. The Pharisees obeyed all the 613 mosaic laws, so they paid tithes. Today, Christians are not under the law, so we do not follow the Mosaic Law, as we are under grace and not the law. How come so much emphasis is laid on only tithes but not the other 613 laws? If we have to pay tithes then we have to follow all the laws, like the Pharisees. When a child disobeys the parent, he has to be stoned to death according to the old law. No Christian obeys that law today. However, some hold on to the law of tithing with the might of Samson. Why? Is it the money? The love of money...
Who is killing the church of Christ?
It is unlawful and unbiblical for anyone outside of the tribe of Levi to receive tithes, be they prophets, bishops, arch-bishops or reverend-doctors. Tithe has become the yoke around many Christians’ neck. When the clergy enslaves the masses and amass wealth at the expense of the poor it creates a history of resentment against the church. Many thinking people become suspicious of religion. When leaders of a faith insult the trust of their flock with misinformation and manipulation, the backlash can be unfavorable to all.
The gospel of Christ suffers when boys are molested by clergy just as when money becomes their main focus. Many centuries ago, Martin Luther had to revolt again the leaders of the church who were taking the faithful for fools. You can fool some of the people some of the time but all the people cannot be fooled all the time. At some point Europe woke up.The shady history of the church in Europe has forced many out of Christianity. Today Christianity is dying in Europe. No wonder, a recent pope said, the future of the church is in Africa. Are our pastors robbing God, are they killing the church of Christ?

Solomon Nkansah is 100% right. Yes they are all false prophets who use the Bible to rob people of their money and rape the young women in the church. They have built a society that is so reliant on the church and its members for social and economic networking. One therefore, becomes so frightened of not obeying their commands because they don't want to lose that social and economic network that they have built up over time.
An example is the young ladies who are sexually molested by members high up the heirachy but are too scared to say anything because they will be branded as devils trying to break up the church. For fear of losing their friends ,they keep their mouths shut and suffer in silence.
There are also people who have been fleeced of all their earnings by these So called Men of God in return for prayers. I have seen grown men queue at the offices of Pastors with bundles of cash for prayers which never materialise and for which there are no refunds.
Preying on the vulnerable to get rich quick has become the norm in these churches.
These fellow Ghanaians who run to Pastors like Otabil and co, should ask themselves, why do this people charge fees for special prayers and why do they have bodyguards and ride in bullet -proof cars?
It's for one reason alone ie to protect them from the people they have wronged, raped and fleeced in the past just in case they want revenge.
'You can only tell the height of a frog after it's death '
If the so called followers really want blessings from God, they should start by helpng their neighbours who are in need rather than give their money to Otabil and co to live like millionaires.

I am currently based in the US, and the state is Maryland, city is Gaithersburg. Many were displaced, so when i woke up i called my only sibling "Mike" who had re-located to Ghana and told him to be vigilant about his surroundings because of those confirmed dreams the good LORD revealed to me. When deceased President John Evans Atta Mills turned on the wheels of the Floating, Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) Kwame Nkrumah off the shores of Cape Three Points to commence the production of oil in commercial quantity in December 2010, he invited the whole nation to rejoice.
Like the three Wise Men who asked the world to rejoice with them on finding the baby Jesus in a manger in Bethlehem, then President Mills proclaimed that the news of the oil production was worth celebrating, in the sense that it marked an era of rejuvenation for the national economy.
“We rejoice in the oil find,” proclaimed the late Prof. Mills. He said the day should serve as reason for all Ghanaians to work hard and not rest on their oars. “It means we are assuming extra responsibilities.”
The Head of State said Ghanaians living now were trustees for future generations, and promised that his government would manage the oil revenue well.
“Revenue from the oil will be used for the benefit of all and not for a few,” echoing the sentiments of countrymen praying for the efficient management of oil resources to improve on infrastructure and society generally.
After joining the dignitaries at the Takoradi Air Force Base after the commissioning the oil project, the late President Mills said: “The oil will be a blessing and not a curse for Ghana.”
Less than two years after the late Head of State had tickled Ghanaians to enjoy a good laugh, the prospects are bleak. This nation now sits on a time bomb of economic mismanagement, corruption, coupled with what The Chronicle describes as voodoo economics.
In the first place, the 120 barrels of oil a day promised has been a mirage. Today, oil companies are struggling to produce 70 barrels a day, indicating that resources are dwindling. To add insult to injury, corruption now permeates all sectors of society.
In place of the jubilant mood on the discovery of the black gold, Ghanaians are asking what happened to the oil money.
Last Tuesday, the New Patriotic Party, the largest opposition political party in the country, held a press conference and described the state of the national economy as in tatters. In the opinion of the party and its spokesperson for the day, Mr. Yaw Osafo Maafo, the former Finance Minister who took the country into the Highly Indebted Poor Countries initiative and brought Ghana out in a record two years of fiscal prudence, the 2013 Budget statement, billed as the panacea to bail this country out of the economic hole, is only a “hogwash of assorted patchwork of propaganda.”
Read Mr. Maafo’s lips: “Six months on, the economy is in tatters, and things are getting worse. Government is no longer in denial. There is now consensus that the economy is in bad shape. That is why it is lamentable that the President is sounding from the roof-top that wherever he has gone to, he is being commended for managing the nation well.”
On the same day the NPP rubbished the economy under President John Dramani Mahama, Transparency International indicted Ghana as more being corrupt than before. According to the TI, its Global Corruption Barometer for 2013 has established that 54 percent of Ghanaians believe corruption has got worse in the last two years.
Out of 2,000 people sampled in the survey, 64 percent said corruption had become a very serious problem. Only 18 percent felt corruption was abating. In a nation where state officials are alleged to have connived to pay a whooping amount of GH¢51 million to Alfred Agbesi Woyome, a financier of the ruling National Democratic Congress, without any proof of any work done, nationals are beginning to question the morality upon which the administration of President John Dramani Mahama is based.
In addition to the Woyome dole-out, the Supreme Court has established that the state, under the Mills/Mahama directive, had paid 5 million Euros to Waterville Holding Company, a foreign firm that was initially involved in the renovation work on the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra, without any proof of contract. In his submission as member of the panel, Mr. Justice Jones Dotse stated that state officials and their legal accomplices, ‘created, looted and shared’ the state booty.
What baffles most Ghanaians is the fact that someone like Mr. Ebo Barton-Odro, who has been linked to the Woyome deal, sits in Parliament as First Deputy Speaker.
The gamut of judgment debts have been established as a conduit pipe through which state officials siphon state funds. As if these were not enough, both the 2011 and the 2012 Auditor General’s Reports have established state monies running into billions being siphoned away, while the state taxes the poor.
In an economic policy that defies any standard logic, the government has pushed through Parliament a bill to tax all manner of things, including cutlasses, fishing nets and outboard motors. The conventional wisdom is that the state subsidises agriculture to enable farmers and fishermen everywhere produce more. Under Mahama’s voodoo economics, the state squeezes everything from the poor farmers, and lays them on the plate for looters of the state treasury, tracing their political lineage to his ruling National Democratic Congress.
On Monday, Ghanaians woke to the shock of a report in state-run Daily Graphic indicating that the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneur Development Agency had paid a whooping GH¢4.6 million to a consultant to access a World Bank facility for the agency, even though the World Bank facility had not hit any of the accounts operated by Ghana.
Meanwhile, the World Bank has made it absolutely clear that it deals with the government directly. It does not go through any middlemen.
In the meantime, this country hobbles on its knees economically. All Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies are owed three quarters of their Common Fund. The Ghana Education Trust Fund is virtually unable to fund the needs of its client institutions for lack of money. All the same, it emerged recently that an employee of the Economic and Organised Crime Office sent to investigate the fund over alleged misapplication of funds, was awarded a full scholarship by the GETFund to study law at GIMPA.
Almost all social interventionist policies bequeathed by the previous Kufuor administration are struggling to survive, while the state over-taxes the underfed and sometimes unemployed Ghanaian, through increases in petroleum and utility bills.
Bereft of financial resources, the government itself is only hanging in there!

Remember the days of Noah? When he preached the flood he was not takien seriously until it happened. NDC only believes people who tell them what pleases them. Don't forget these men of God are only calling for prayer. Besides if God is not interested in politics why do politicians themselves call for national prayers, organise national thanksgiving services etc (NDC included) which all their members attend, including the president and this propagandist? President, remember the counsel of Ahithophel and don't listen to the propagandists you have around you who are only interested in guarding their chop chop!! A word to the wise. Hold on my people! Are these two pastors indirectly telling us that they know of a plot by some people to disturbilise the peace in Ghana? Or are they a part of a brain behind a plan to disturb the balance between the people of Ghana? We all remember how a top politician mounted a political platform to tell the nation all die be die if he does not win, then not long another politica follower went to a private radio studio and declared war on two tribes in Ghana. Of late he appealed to some youth to go on the streets and cause riot so that they could be shot dead. What are these opinion leaders up to? I think the right thing for the prophets should preach and send messages of peace and advise the political worriors to stop broadcasting messages of war. May I appeal to the masses that war as I know it is a business of dying and destruction. No clear minded person would think and of and send messages of war or encourage the out break of war. War never bring any good tiding to a nation. War is evil let us say no to war. We don't need war.
