What nonsense is this? Does the report want to tell us that the bibles were spared by some kind of divine intervention or what? And if so, why did God presumably not spare all the equally holy and sacrosanct items such as the more spiritually valuable church building - the house of God, the many crucifixes with Jesus image on them and all the other alter furniture? How many bibles were in the church at the time of the fire and how many did not get burnt?

Clearly this report was compiled by one of our many dumb, naive and impressionable journalists from of course the GBC, relying on rumor based upon the prevailing sinful plague of fickle-minded superstition.

My more serious concern is how this church which is situate right in the strategic middle of Burma Camp where thousands of soldiers live and work, could freely burn to such an extent? Does this not give the bad impression that security in the Camp is woefully and dangerously lax?

Ghanaians are so evil, they think and believe there really is a God watching them and physically counting their sins, so they scurry off to churches in droves, pretending it is s safe haven. Sorry fools, God has been punishing you people daily. Look at all the dirty ugly ignorant animals selling stuff in the middle of highways and byways. Look at our irresponsible ugly politicians, look at how inability to make government function. Look at all the filth and rotten foods we feed ourselves daily, and look at our children, if they are not born syphilitic, chances are they will not be nourished to develop mentally, physically and socially.

There is no GOD, but going to church is as good or bad a social life as going to drinking spots and night clubs, at the end of the day or night, you simply wasted the day...

I would like to add that once upon a time, the fire station at the Kotoka International Airport could not save the VIP lounge which is very close to the station, from burning. There have been instances whereby a fire tender responding to a distress call had no water in it to quench the fire.
We should also not forget that fire personnel cannot use the water in their vehicles alone to put out fires. They need to connect their hoses to fire hydrants to get constant flow of water for the job. It is amazing that with the rampant fire outbreaks in the country, our politicians are not talking about solutions to the problem, such as fixing the broken fire hydrants but rather pointing accusing fingers at their opponents for setting up the fires. They are simply not working to solve the country's problems, but at the end of the day they cry for end-of-service benefits!

The situation reminds me of a heavy storm that occurred in 2000, at my hometown, Dwomor, in the TANO South District.
The entire roof and three walls of the St Augustine Catholic Church, Dwomor came down, completely devastated; except one wall adjoining the Altar. The crucifix attached to the wall stayed put.
One of the mysteries witnessed in my lifetime. This echoes the Biblical saying that in the middle of storm, the word is intact and not perturbed by the turbulence of the times.
We will be saved if we attach ourselves to the word by trusting, obeying and doing His Good Will.
