Npp will soon die and a new party formed in its place. What npp are looking for is to come to power to loot the nation's resources. Npp thinks Ghanaians have soon forgotten when they were stealing gold, money, land and other state properties. Ministers saving government loans in their individual foreign accounts and keeping the interest accrued before releasing the capital to nation's coffers. In fact, the SC is really wasting time that is why these crooks think they still stand a chance. Where on earth have you seen SC removing democratically elected president and putting in a 70 years old drug baron, greedy and arrogant man as president? You have been found out and God will punish you for wasting Ghanaian tax-payers money.

Rather, Government should be encouraged to make good her earlier promises made to them. Anyway the Medical doctors are watching. So are GNAT and NAGRAT people. Mahama, if I were you, I will not go for a second term. Afterall, you have been a president too. Get away from all these Wahala that you did not create but have to solve. Alabama, I am not into practicing politics as some have taken it as a profession. I don't care who stays at the kitchen, so long as the one can bear the heat and do what is right for the country. Whether NPP or NDC wins, none of them put food on my plate or pays my bills. I cry for Mahama because he is made to sweat for things he did not start. Look at this single spine salary thing that is draining the economy. see how difficult Mahama's government is having paying salaries, though he did not implemented it. Kuffour used that as a campaign strategy but Mills thought that all campaign strategies are practicable. Now Mahama has to sweat for what Mills implemented.
If you want to know those who want Mahama to fail and go, don't look further. Just look right into his party and you shall find out. Have you forgotten the professional politicians who think Mahama has sidelined them. They are pulling him back hard. NPP is just making noise and also serving as a check which is good for our democracy. Why is that if there is a cabinet meeting or a serious behind closed door meetings by the government and her faithfuls, it gets leaked to the media before the next day? Have you considered that? Who then wants Mahama to go? Who leaks even serious secrets in his government to the press? I have no dirty tricks to play. It is Mahama's OWN senior politicians who want him to go so they can have the status quo.

Alabama, you seem to be reasoning from a different part of your body. Do we have a lying government? Why can't the government just negotiate and tell them the truth?
Did you not read that the Finance Minister said the country is not broke? Did I say that? If the Finance Minister of all ministers can come to the air and say the country is not broke, what prevents the government from honoring her promise then. If Ghana is broke tell government to cut her coat according to her cloth. The extravagant lifestyles and quest for authority is dragging our country back. Government cannot continue to dish money and benefits to MPs and appointees as if she is Father Christmas and tell others that there is no money.
With your level of education, do you think that lecturers in Ghana do not need money for research? That is partly why our educational standards are falling. Were you not taught in elementary school that Pluto was a planet? What is its status now? New books come out all the time, especially from the Developed world. What about our end of town? Nothing because the money government gives for researches is just peanuts and always come late. For a country's university education to be internationally very well recognized also depends on the caliber of lecturers we have, their researches and publications. Unfortunately lecturers in Ghana do not publish, perhaps because they have no funds for research. That is why they continue to use those old old old notes to teach. Let the government give them money for researches, ministry of education monitor their publications and see how far Ghana can go.

UTAG should exercise a bit of patience. Government is painfully admitting that it is broke. We can be empathetic. The replacing of Book and Research Allowance is a good idea, the concern I have is how the Central fund for research will be administered and managed. Management of a similar fund (Conference and Research) in the universities is poorly done with funds sometimes used for activities that have no connection whatsoever with research. The question is, do we have the wherewithal to properly carry on with this?

I wonder why our academics and other professionals are so much obsessed with money so much so that on little frustration, they threaten or go on strike. How much is the research and book allowance that if it is abolished pieces of chalk would drop? A couple of years back when university lecturers in the UK went on strike for two hours, they directed that their salaries should be minus the the two hours they were on strike. Could our lecturers do same? I am getting sick with this lust of money.

There's no truth in this gov't, why, because thievery, corruption and all the ills which retard the development of many an African nation can be found in this John Mahama presidency. Such is the level of rot totally unprecedented in the history of governance in Ghana, for which Ghanaians are being made to suffer under the Mahama-Amissah Arthur administration. Ghana is effectively on a downward spiral and all the sectors of the country, education, health, energy, infrastructure, agriculture, manufacturing, environment, everything is totally dead in Ghana or slipping backwards. Surely, this is not the team Ghanaians voted for; not such an incompetent and inept team.
