Good work by the Minister. This is what should have been done to Okoe Vanderpuije when the Auditor General's Report of 2011 came out to reveal 'Chop Chop in AMA'. Instead Okoe is still there paying heavy sums of money to the likes of Ade Coker, some traditional rulers and Makola Chairpersons to come out to support him with unnecessary cheap publicity. Ade getting enough to help him campaign to stay in office as regional chairman and the Wulome also taking not less than 2000 GHC to come out with some JHS explanation.
Okoe, how can you say you will be renovating 7 Palaces when you paid monies to various chiefs to say that government recognises only 2 Ga chiefs. Are not going to use government money?

Barely two years ago then Presiddent Mills and a host of party gurus grabbed headlines in photo-op style to depict Ghana's position to revamp the rail transport system modelled along BART of San Francisco or some leading European subway structures.
What actually happened has been different. Some old trains were repainted in red Ghanaian colours of gold green and red and paraded in sod cutting inaugural fashion. And that was a demise of ambition.
Now to our bus terminals. If the prominent minister wants to direct his attention to reform she must first visit our bus terminals around the Nkrumah Circle. That is where our national disgrace begins. It makes the visitor wonder the type of people we are. The amount of filth and lack amenities are so addressable that civilized individuals bow heads at the sight our bus terminals.
Why should we differ from all others and refuse to learn to do the right things for ourselves ? In our visits to beg for loans overseas we see how clean and patterned their environments are kept. Why cant we take some of the money to do likewise ?
Mrs Minister, the areas around the VIP bus terminals and the main Terminals need serious attention. THEY ARE FILTHY AND DISGRACEFUL !! TELL THE PRESIDENT Ghana holds him responsible

Travel along the spintex road to be caught in snarled traffic. It takes the prudent mind to observe that additional exits to and from the Tema thruway are necessary to ease it. How often have you and your buddies thoughyt about this problems ? It may take only three months of deligent work to complete and solve this problem if such assignment is devoid of party interferences and fraudulent contractual involvements. Ghana needs clean minds and honest stewardship. We hope you are the answer, Mrs Minister

Is it not about time that we distinguished between a disciplinary action within government and matters relating to a party?
Is the Mass Metro Transport a government-owned company or NDC's? If it is a government organisation, why on earth would any reporter link the apparent disciplinary action taken by the Minister for Transport with the NDC party?
And whilst we are at it, isn't it also about time that we employed competent, efficient, honest and disciplined individuals to these key management positions rather than party members and functionaries? It is these partisan approaches to jobs ( so-called jobs for the boys and girls) that have crippled Ghana over the last 50 years.
I'd like to see a bold and determined government move away from this nepotism and recruit the right people (irrespective of party affiliation) to do a good job. By that approach, we would not have to have this silly 'merry-go-round' anytime there is a change of government and people are relieved of their posts simply because they were 'politically appointed' by the previous administration.
This is silly and it is not helping Ghana. We must grow up and demonstrate the true meaning of our democracy by being fair-minded and non-partisan in appointments.

Do people understand anything at all at this forum? Do we understand corporate governance at all? First of all, MMT doesn't belong to the Gov't of Ghana. There are 7 institutions that contributed to form MMT. (Initially 4 plus the gov't) The Government contributed land (the stations and depots) the value of which by the agreement with the Dutch Government was supposed to be a maximum 40% of the value of MMT. The Government never submitted a valuation report on its contribution but maintained it owns 40% of the company. The first "Board of directors" elected the representative from the ministry as chair. That didn't make the government owner of MMT. So,for a private company, how in this world could one shareholder, granted major but not majority, decide to fire the Board-appointed MD without regard to the Board? The MD cannot be removed without the Board or calling an EGM. Educate the Minister.

What has this whole business to do with the NDC party and what business would the party have to do with a going concern such as the MMT? I just don't get it, unless of course the story is grossly misleading (and I'm beginning to feel that way).

Honourable Minister, Mrs Dzifa Attivor I want to use this platform to make a complaint of some wrongdoing. Please investigate why the Vehicle licensing department of Ministry of Transport has been sent to Oyibi. The people of Tema find it difficult to travel to Oyibi for obvious reasons. How many people know where Oyibi is? This has created a huge syndicate of extortion; payment of between 80-100 Cedis to renew a road worthy certificate and 60-80 Cedis to renew a licence if you are not ready to travel to Oyibi. There are people stationed at the old office in Tema who are ready to travel to Oyibi when you pay. Even when one takes the risk and travels to Oyibi, one is bound to fail the test. Madam, why should we take hasty decisions and create loopholes for for people to exploit? My passionate appeal to the Minister is to expand the old office in Tema to take care of people in Tema and its environs. Thank you.
