They must therefore note that the Mayor was elected and placed in post under the constitution and not from their 'Abokobi' office. Egya Nda is rift to ask what these chiefs did with the proceeds of land sales. Same question can be asked of all the chiefs in the country including the powerful Ashanti chiefs. The Indians got rid of their wealthy Maharajahs when it became a republic. The maharajahs and Zamindaris controlled al the land in India as our chiefs do in Ghana and it hinders development of the country. A minor Maharajah would be richer and more powerful than Asantehene and even our republic. Our governments are terrified to even think of amending land laws to favour the republic because the masses support the chiefs. The masses are proud of their chiefs because chieftaincy is a tradition but not all traditions are worth keeping. What do the masses benefit from the vast number of chiefs? A few chiefs may serve their communities but in the main, chiefs only look after themselves and to he'll with everybody else including the subjects who revere them. What is the point of the chieftaincy as it is now. We can keep the chiefs but clip their wings severely and change the land laws.

Long overdue.This is the first point of call whenever officials visit the towns. Some palaces are eyesore. Chieftaincy is a constitutional establishment so must be supported from the consolidated fund.

Have the Supreme Court Judges also Joined President Mahama in London?

Rumours are rife on the London-based Ghanaian (radio) airwaves that some of the judges sitting on Election 2012 case pending in the Supreme Court have come to London. Some opine that the judges have come here to arrange for some money, bribery money of course, to be transferred into their bank accounts by possibly, the "Edey bii keke" President.

I do not believe these rumours about the judges or some of them come over to Britain on dubious mission. However, there is the slightest truth in every rumour. Be that as it may, who among the nine judges have come to London and for what reason?

If they have come at all, it may be to consult with their brainy White contemporaries for professional advice on how best to extricate themselves from the looming quagmire. They have only to tell the truth and ensure nothing, but absolute justice prevails. There would not be the need for coming over to London for whatsoever reason if they were going to be honest with themselves and with the Ghanaian public by basing their verdict on nothing but the credible proofs and witness statements placed before them.

Should they choose to be economical with the truth, be influenced by dubious persons promising them money and favours, then they will eventually have themselves to blame should things go sour. Their reputation is on the line so they had better take notice.

Would a Good Samaritan please check the airlines' manifest at Kotoka Airport to confirm if indeed some of the judges have travelled outside Ghana since the close of their last sitting on Thursday, 14 June 2013?

Anyway, I will not dwell on this story of which I have no proof even though some radio phone-in callers are uttering with vociferation how credible their assertion is.

I assure all and sundry that as long as the whole world is watching the court proceedings live on television and on the internet, there is nothing dubious the judges can do but to let justice prevail according as ascertained by the evidential documents in front of them. It could have been a different story if there was no live telecast of the court sittings.

The judges, whoever they are, are welcome to London. However, they are expected to be law-abiding visitors without engaging in any fraudulent activities as alleged on air. I personally believe they are not in London but in Ghana. Anyway, I have by this write-up attempted to assuage the fears of those that think the judges are in London and are on a questionable mission.

I dedicate this article to Kofi Basoah and his younger brother Kwaku Burger of Asante-Juaben.

I don't think that Ga chiefs know their own political history apart from their empty and threatening noises!!!. The Gas cannot even elect a traditional leader(mantse) from Teme, Nugua, La, Osu, Ga Matsi, Sempe etc. Over all these years, they are unable to bring their houses in order yet they have the audacity to order the Mayor to solve their problems in 3 months. They should rather pledge their support to the Mayor and help him and his team in all ways to regenerate Ga into a respectable capital city of Ghana.

It is not the responsibility of the government to build palace for chiefs. No responsible chief will ask the government to build a palace for him.Useless chiefs. Is a shame to demand that . Tell the mayor to build a house for every citizen of Accra but not only the chiefs.
