We are against any tariff increases, and we have always maintained that the present tariffs are a burden on Ghanaians and the economy. Instead of increasing tariffs, the government should root out corruption from the agencies providing services to increase its revenues.

Why is it that when govt functionaries do something wrong and they are arrested, their names are not mentioned and their photos are not publicized? When others are arrested not only are their names and pictures vividly put on the front pages of the media but sometimes on mere suspicion of wrong-doing, they are shot at and killed by the police. We are operating an American system of justice in Ghana.

Anas already made a discovery of this rot and laid bare at the feet of late Prez Mills, assured Ghanaians of cracking down on this rot. What happened to the gov't white paper on this? Is this rot now a new discovery for disclosure to the Ghanaian public for the Dep Minister to proudly tell us about it? For political expedidiency they did nothing about it so that they could steal enough money for the election campaign. They will know to their shame ( they are already aware) that there are many from within their own fold( party) who are guilty of complicity in thuis crime. The Dep. The problem of dealing with the loss of revenue to the state at the various points of entry into the country has been a long standing one which all governments right from 1957 have been unable to deal with.
Governments have always messed up with the problem by sending their own cohorts there only to realise that after establishing themselves at their various locations they become very corrupt and started to divert revenue into their private pockets.
These points of entry should be manned by trusted officers for short periods of six months or one year.
It should not be soldiers, they're worse than civilians when it comes to stealing state funds.

Well done Mahama. Please continue to do this and you can be sure of three terms in office. You slapped zero tolerance on Chinese criminality which gives good prospects for NDC. Now you are on corrupt bosses. Always remember that the biggest favour you can do to poor widows, orphans and those whose lives are riddled by poverty is to track down those corrupt bosses. They are the root causes of the problems in Ghana. Please SACK and imprison them with no mercy as this is the one single act that will ensure fairness and win votes from all Ghanaians irrespective of party affiliation.
Everybody wants action and will vote for a party of action. Sacking corrupt bosses and working tirelessly against corruption will always be a clear and precise vote winner. If Mahama continues to be this proactive, corruption will surprisingly disappear very quickly making way for a more decent society that places premium and value on hard work and general fairness. Also, ensure that there is a more effective, fairer and more equitable revenue and taxation policy.
