Confiscating properties of drug barons is a right call. Arresting and putting them in prison while they keep their loot, makes no sense. All that they acquired through such illegal dealings, should be confiscated and the authorities should make sure that such individuals should have no access to government jobs or anything that will let them get back on their feet sooner.
We have to punish these greedy rats severely.

It is still a good call. All that have to be done is to ensure that families and friends as well as business partners of arrested drug dealers are investigated. Their assets, financial sources must be investigated. If they used the names of family members, children, and friends and so on, those children, friends etc. must clearly show they were or are capable of owning the assets and businesses they have with proven sources of income.
Since the UN is in support of the asset confiscation, no matter where their assets are in the world they would be subject to investigation and possible confiscation.

So convicted drug traffickers and barons in Ghana are allowed to keep their properties and monies .Every property and money they own should be confiscated and they should be given long term jail sentences.

This is very wise and needs to be put in place! When you have an ex security chief being indicted for drug trafficking it is very worrying!
