Do we say people in Ghana government know nothing? Why do they seek help from US? Let our people know that without policies and regulations, it’s like living in animal kingdom.
First of all we’ve got lots of chemicals in our market today and the users don’t follow the COSHH sheets, there is no COSHH assessment, some of the chemicals, if you wipe the spillage with tissue and threw it into a bin, within sometime it will ignite fire.
My question is government collect revenues from the market traders, what do they use the money for? I am expecting the government to divide the money they collected from the traders into two.
• Half goes to the government
• Half goes to the market improvements
Let’s talk about market improvements, over the years we haven’t seen any improvements at all, no security cameras and no thermal imaging cameras to identify hotspots, Americans can come in and installed all these cameras, but they can’t help to arrest the arsonist of the previous out breaks.
I just listen to the news today and the minister was talking about electrical certificate, that’s good, people need to certify their work, but when the electrician walks away and the place got burn due to his bad work or some electrocuted and die what will happen? Where are these poor electricians going to tap into or fed their installations from? Can the people in charge of the market make provision for them and who will be in charge of the feeder or locker?
Anyway is anybody in charge of the market?

The remaining markets must be protected and the public must be sensitised too. Vote for the NPP or your markets will be burnt down.
Market traders can take the following steps:
store important wares in your homes and only bring enough to the market.
NPP cannot stop the tide of time.

This looting led to the destruction of one of the mainstay of the economy, Makola Market, because soldiers wanted to rid the country of ‘kalabule’. In their misguided mind destroying the edifice was enough; sadly they ended up destroying the bastion of legitimate trade in the country. The economy ground to a halt during that period. That unfortunate act I consider to be at par with Busia’s bungled implementation of the Aliens Compliance Order; both robbed the country of entrepreneurial expertise and skilled manual labour and to date I cannot see how bombing Makola Market could ever be equated with the promotion of social justice as has been claimed by the youthful braggarts that cheered on that incident
