Unfortunately this trend will continue to rise if our family law continues to head in the direction of the western world...i.e. civil (wedding) marriages and it's subsequent divorce laws including the sharing of properties and/or children. The western world is advanced in their system enough to bring such offenders, both husbands or wives to book...and even there, not all cases are solved. Maintaining our traditional marriage method would keep greedy women out of marrying wealthy men in hopes of acquiring their properties when they die, in most cases suspiciously. I have even heard of the man's family killing the wife who has been granted her ex-husbands property in a divorce settlement through a civil marriage. What is going on in America has prematurely arrived in Ghana and with tragic consequences. There are also several reports of Ghanaian ladies with faithful characters who go to the U.S. to marry their Ghanaian husbands but end up throwing the men out of his home(with the least altercation)once they learn how to call police (who will arrive promptly) and they learn that the family laws favor them.

The US is the only advance nation with the highest divorce rate as well as killing of women. Why this trend? The laws concerning "families" favors women and they will not hesitate to throw the man out of the door or window at the least provocation or angry. US is the only nation where a married man has no RIGHT to get angry and doing that mean instant divorce.

That stupidity is gradually creeping up on us and if care is not taken, these killings will explode with no end in site. What is civil marriage and why are we throwing our traditional marriage system away? In the US, one can find a homosexual man supervision over a man/woman getting marriage and what does this man knows about marriage? We have to be careful in adopting anything WESTERN because they always come with some severe consequences.

There are headaches attached to marriages but these killings should stop as it cast a slur on us.

Nobody condones wife or husband beating, let alone killing. But what has become of our happy ever after marriages? Why are these men supposedly killing their wives for no reason - good or bad? The men take vows to take good care of their wives and protect them, but why have they turned into killers these days? I suggest we get to the root of the matter, rather than just pointing fingers at the men alone. It is a fact that some men are suffering terrible abuse at the hands of their wives, but nobody seems to care about their plight until things get out of control and they take the law unto themselves and end up committing these terrible murders. Let us find out what has gone wrong with society and try remedial courses, and not only will the wife killings cease, but society would benifit, too.
