Thank you for saying that. EVERY SINGLE TIME our President or leaders go abroad, it is always the same ONE-WAY traffic of asking from others but giving ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in return!
Why is it always US asking, no BEGGING, for basic projects and services we should be providing from our own resources if our leaders were not such BLOCKHEADS.
We are just like a strong, healthy nuisance beggar who chooses not to work but to rely on the loose coins and small change of those on their way home from ahrd day's work. The donor nations can probably spot us a mile away, always approaching them with our empty begging bowl.
Do these so-called leaders simply ask for our votes just to go begging on our behalf? Its about time we Ghanaians chose some dynamic, hard working and visionary leaders instead of this gang of lazy, self-seeking criminals we have in office today.

His next major task is to stop the NDC from rapidly resembling the NPP. The 'bigmanship',rabid impunity and morbid self-aggrandisement must stop. Credibility and stature must return to politics in this country. We have the demography and the professional know-how to create a homogenious society and an industrial mini-giant. Nkrumah has done the hard work. thanks to him, every tribe can lay claim to equitable degree of enlightenment. The foundation is in place, we owe it to Nkrumah to construct the superstructure and fasten it in place.

Mahama must resist falling into economic traps set by France. The French government has no intention of serving the national interest of West African societies. Instead, France is seeking repenetration of economic resources of the sub-region to feed its own economy. France has ran out of resources. Consider France's role in NATO and what happened to Libya.

My comment in this posting is not tailored against His Excellency J. Mahama but to leaders who have let down their people. Few days ago the AU was celebrating 50 years since it was established. Unfortunately our leaders continue to troop to the West for aid when we as Africans are sitting on both natural and human resources. The countries we approach for aid are suffering serious economic meltdown, with tight financial and economic austerity measures. Let's ask a question - you have a neighbour who has been your master for years and decides to give you your "freedom" but has drawn up plans that you continue to sweat to produce the same raw materials - such as cassava, maize, groundnuts on a farm he has a stake as a partial owner and then he turns your products into manufactured or processed items in his yard....why don't you ask "Master" you have given me my called freedom and now support me to process my products...The bottom line is aid creates a dependency syndrome and our leaders have to tap effectively on our human and natural resources. Do you think the Master wants a fair playing field....Do you think the Master want the world socio-economic order to change on a win-win basis. African leaders should go to their roots of notable scholars, like Fanon, Nkrumah, Ali Mazuri, to further understand the why we are where we are and continue to be where we are...as an educated Ghanaian whose university studies was made possible through the toil of poor cocoa farmers I have failed my people and so are many of us who are educated and unfortunately the elite. We need to rethink and rediscover that we are blessed as a continent but poor leadership, self-seeking coupled with limited vision and depending on hand outs is a serious challenge. What we see at the macro level (international and national arena) has implication at the micro (extended family system) whereby instead of individuals aspiring to achieve great things depend on a family member who has some wealth. Although the extended family has its advantages in absence of Government social security scheme but needs to be rethink through just as our leaders needs to rethink in parading developed countries for hand outs. How much has been stolen from national coffers that have an equivalent of the aid we go around soliciting for. If we are to do a calculation of funds lost through corruption in our countries in comparison to aid from developed countries we would be surprise more has gone into corruption that we receive from aid. Let's wake brothers and sisters for we have disappointed our people, our children and grandchildren. We need to look for true independence and we are capable of doing that. AWAKE.

French President Francois Hollande received Tuesday afternoon at the Elysee Palace the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama. The two presidents agreed to step up political and economic exchanges between the two countries, the Elysee Palace announced in a statement.
Hollande welcomed his Ghanaian counterpart who symbolically chose to perform in France his first official visit to Europe. He welcomed the involvement of Ghana in solving international crises since the five countries involved in peacekeeping operations of the United Nations peace as well as to the International Support Mission in Mali piped African (MISMA) indicates the statement.
The two leaders made ??the finding of a "convergence of views" on the situation in Mali. The ongoing improvement in the security situation should continue until the deployment of the UN mission, scheduled from July 1. They also agreed to continue to support the electoral process, according to the timetable set by the Malian authorities, to enable the country to complete the political transition and the restoration of democracy in all its territory, the statement of Elysee.
The two leaders also stressed the need to strengthen bilateral relations and welcomed the signing of a Partnership Framework Document on the occasion of this visit, which will set Franco-Ghanaian partnership priorities for the period 2013-2016 (governance, Culture and Francophonie, sustainable development, growth).
During his visit, the President will meet several French companies to expand bilateral trade.

President Hollade, I have come to admire your leadership, given the swipe you took at the US on the Islamist attack on Mali. I praise your steadfast role in Africa and we can do business with France under your leadership. But Ghana needs more aprenticeship trainning in vocational skills, IT, e-health technology and not social sciences. Good areas to look at Prez Mahama should include Agribus, large scale farming, car/truck assmbling plants. The language will follow later, but for now, help us to add value to our products in lumber, extractive industries and remind NDC government to minimize corruption if not eliminate it in Ghana. We need jobs for thegraduates and the kayayos and boys. security, very important to develop in peace.

It is sad to always read about Ghana going for aid. When will our leaders learn to manage our resources and stop going round the world begging for arms

Why should Ghana go to France to borrow whne France has officially allowed gays to marry - the first gay couple marrying today?
We should be careful that they do not attach any gay marriage conditions to the aid/loan.
