I strongly agree with your suggestion that majority of the NADMO officials should be trained in Ghana. However there are some technical expertise that would require training abroad. You remember that we had to get Isreali assistance during the MELCOM disaster. Such training is long and technical and some Ghanaians need to be trained in that profession. NADMO is surely different from the Red Cross. NADMO is a paid full-time job but the Red Cross is a voluntary organization except their administrative officials.

If NDC party cadres have agreed to become trained disaster managers so be it because they are Ghanaians and when disaster strikes they will help all Ghanaians and not NDC members only.

This man Kofi Portuphy must be out of his senses. Does the personnel of NADMO need rescue, first aid and health and safety training that comes with physical training to adequately prepare them fit for any emergency call or a military training to perform creditably to rescue disaster victims?

Some of these old fake socialist revolutionary crooks are still day dreaming of the bloody 80s and can't adapt to the new civil system where the military have less roles to play.

Instead of having the NADMO officials, mostly NDC tribally recruited hoodlums go for unwanted military training, NADMO should put up an own official skill training programs and plans on matters solely concerning their outfits as rescuers as Ghana will never go the bloody Kenyan or the unfortunate Ivorian ways to merit any military training for their civil operatives.

Any diabolical plan behind the military training will certainly become an NDC counter-productive.

This is not the solution. Why don't set up three or four platoons in each of the military, army, navy and airforce units scattered in the country and totally disband the NADMO. In fact NADMO as it is now is a political unit that is just a waste of public resources. Funds are just utilised for political campaigns and blatant stealing through over inflated procurements.
