    they were at the mercy of buyers who sometimes dictated the price of the commodity to as low as GH¢0.50 (fifty Pesewas) per kilo instead of the usual GH¢1.00.

    I hope this hard working farmers will be given maximum support. The crop has good export market and it is a good food for our own people. In US it sells for a higher price than peanut (groundnuts).

    I can fully empathise with these people. The have scrupulous Indians, who bring their own employees to Ghana to buy directly from peasant farmers. These are normally ruthless people.

    Cashews are very expensive nut compare to peanuts(ground nuts)..Stores can charge $1 for very small bag or $6-7 for 1 pound tin of roasted/salted nuts
