When Kwaku Baako informed us about the atrocities of Kwesi Pratt during PNDC Regime, some of us did not believe until the truth was confirmed during the NRC. Kwesi Pratt is the most dangerous Journalist Ghana had ever have, he had the gut to recommend his fellow journalists to be executed by PNDC. Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwesi Pratt can do. Now Pratt is a secret agent to NDC and US Embassy in Ghana. May God forgive Pratt and spare him the untold evils that will come upon him and his generations. The souls of those journalist killed through Pratt's recommendations to PNDC will never forgive Pratt. Now Pratt has the guts to take Diplomatic Passport and smuggled his weak-headed children to work at the Ministries under Mills NDC, may God forgive Pratt and his dependance and spare them of the evils ahead of them...

Some of our local businesses just too greedy. They get the supplies from the same sources and pay same taxes like the Nigerians but go check the prices and you will see why we prefer buying from the Nigerians.

What Mr. Mornah has forgotten or has overlooked is that the world is now a global village. If our national Industries are not competitive and can make quality goods, all that the consumers will do is to look for lower priced quality goods either in Ghana or from nearby countries. In this case I back unreservedly Government's stand. This will spur the local Industries into action.

We live in a global economy where cartels are the chief operators. Ghana, as a raw material exporting country must be careful what actions to take to deal with trade issues, particularly when we have become an import led economy and importing virtually everything and anything you can think of. As a way forward, we should move beyond protection of local industries some of which are not living up to their billing and begin to look at ways by which we can support the serious ones to become very competitive.Let us also develop the taste for local products as a way of supporting them to grow.Cuba and some others have done it so well in this regard.

I THINK WHAT THE MINISTER SAID WAS WE SHOULD SUPPORT OUR COMPANIES TO BE COMPETITIVE AND NOT NECESSARILY PROTECT THEM. THERE MIGHT BE A CASE FOR PROTECTION BUT DOES IT ALWAYS WORK? IF OUR STATE ENTERPRISES WERE EFFICIENT ALL THOSE YEARS WHEN THERE WAS NO COMPETITION, THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN STRONG ENOUGH TO STAND UP TO THE COMPETION. SOMETIMES IT IS CORRUPTION AND INEFFICIENCY THAT IS OUR DOWNFALL. STATE HOUSING DIDN'T HAVE MUCH COMPETION WHEN THEY STARTED. AFTER NKRUMAH HOW MANY HOUSES HAVE THEY BUILT? I AM OF THE VIEW THAT OUR COMPANIES SHOULD BE FINANCED AND IN TURN THEY SHOULD BECOME WORLD CLASS. IF NOT NO PROTECTION CAN SHIELD THEM FROM THE REALITIES OF THE WORLD SITUATION.
