Ghana is in a state of chaos - Nana Konadu

Former First lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings says recent killings and brutalities in the country are attestations that Ghana is in a state of chaos.

According to her, there is no law and order and it looks as if the country is fast running in to an abyss.

Nana Konadu was commenting on recent brutalities in Kumasi on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem programme Wednesday.

She said such heinous crimes only happen in a country where the law does not work and that is the situation in the country.

"If there is law and order in the country why are strange things happening? Everyday in the media you hear a man has butchered his wife. If this is not checked, very soon people can’t even sleep in their rooms," she bemoaned.

The former first lady expressed worry about how government appointees attack anyone who attempts to offer constructive criticisms on how the nation is being run.

"If we don’t criticise ourselves to correct the wrongs as a people then this nation will be in a mess," she added.

Nana Konadu said though the Kumasi shootings are worrying, the security services must be seen to be working to avert any future occurrence.

"You cannot have a policeman per citizen so we need a social sense of responsibility whereby the citizens will know what to do at what time," she added.
