The world is funy, why Africa leaders always want to be directed by leaders of other continents, does it means Africa has no capable leaders, why can't Africans manage their own affairs, if we claimed we have freedom . I personally dont understand why all the African countries are runing to either China, France, UK, Rusia, US to mention a few for loans and other assistance. Where do those countries get the money, puting into considerations the Africa vast natural resources. Today almost all the modern houses in Africa especally Ghana are been build by Contractors from either US, China, Korea, etc yet we have KNUST and other polytechnics in Ghana which supposed to produce qualified engineers to assist in nation building. Looking round the whole world you see that every country whether in Africa, US, etc with black citizens lack developement and calling on others countries for assistance. What is the secret, only God Knows. God help black people

Most times initiatives from outside with paternalistic posture fails.
You see, Kofi Annan could not even mention URANIUM in his lists of Minerals that he and his masters claim could benefit Africans, 'cos that strategic minerals is perceived to be for the white man?

This is a great initiative and we should not second guess it. The point is that we all complain about everything but do not do anything to affect a change. We always hope and want somebody to do it for us. We should all remember this:
"The pessimist complains about the wind.
The optimist expects it to change.
The leader adjusts the sails.” John Maxwell (n.d.)
We should all be asking ourselves that, what ways can we help this course? Kofi Annan is doing the right thing but he WILL SERIOUSLY NEED OUR HELP GOING FORWARD!!!!
PEACE

Mr. Annan, thanks for spending your retirement time working for Africa. Totally agree with Robert and Charles. A better tomorrow for Africa is absolutely within reach. The Africa Progress Panel has some great Africans onboard like Strive Masiyiwa, Linah Mohohlo, and Graça Machel who along with mr. Annan are founding members of the Elders. These are folks who could be spending their old age at rest at home with their grandchildren yet they are working tirelessly towards are development. Instead of being suspicious of them and berating them, lets get behind them and push them. Dishonoring our elders regardless of what we think of them is not part of African culture. Afterall, if they succeed, its good for us the younger generation who will reap the benefit.Mr. Annan Ayeekoooooo and thank you! Keep om keeping on!

I thank God that you now live in Ghana and you know what is happening, as a great politician. My question here is how can a president of a country like Ghana think of sending pastors to Israel to pray for him? This beats my understanding and have great doubts about Mr. Mahama's ability as a president.

If Kofi Annan wants to Imagine Africa, he will address the do nothing bureaucratic elephant called the AU that is weighing us down. Now they are venturing in the war games at the calling of others just to please our masters

Use the $30 billion the industrialized nations of Eu, USA, China, India & Russia, Africa and the tropical world for spewing anthrpogenic gases into the atmosphere
$30 billion can be used as seed money.
