How can a party in power blame opposition for their mismanagement. It is only in Ghana that fools will still follow it. How can you bring Doctors from Cuba to Ghana? The cost of these doctors will be higher than the agreement to furfil. We have foreigners in ruling our country. We need to mobilize resources to chase out these foreigners out of the country to set up examples. Otherwise every alien in country causing harm will go scot free and the government will even have it easier. Ghanaians must wake up! Chinese, Nigerians, Cubans, Lebanese, etc.

Kamathy, medical training is not based on just the local diseases that exist in a country but on broad knowledge accumulated over centuries from all parts of the world. Doctors from Europe or North America can and have treated malaria patients either arriving in Europe or in their local countries.

After the Chernobyl accident in Ukraine in the 80's, many patients, particularly children, were sent to Cuba for treatment at the invitation of the Cuban government! In fact, Cuba has the largest data on the effects of radioactivity on children in the world.

Cuban doctors have worked extensively all over Africa treating malaria and other diseases. They are also training doctors and other health care specialists in Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, and Equatorial Guinea, to mention a few.

Additionally, know that Cuba has the world-class Dr Pedro Kourí Institute For Tropical Medicine, founded in 1937, where research is done into the cure of tropical diseases, including malaria. Cuba sells vaccines and other medicines to several countries in Europe, Latin America (especially industrial giant, Brasil), Asia and Africa.

1. It is true that they owe these doctors? ............Why then saying the NPP is behind the strike? Are they no doctors who are NDC? ..... If no then NDC is not better to rule because the doctors know better and most of the people who voted for them.
2. The government is not telling us the truth about these Cuban doctors. The Cuban government started helping us some years back but has now realized that we blacks are "stupid" and that is why they try to take away our resources without us knowing. I have no problem about them in our country, but we should make Ghanaians understand the deal. Big money is sent down to Cuba every year for the services of these doctors. So the government should tell us the truth.
3. I studied in Cuba and have been in the country for almost 2 years now. We Mahama the then vice president went to Cuba I was there and he said the current 200 cuban doctors in Ghana was not enough so he has asked for 50 more to make it 250. Now the number is 350 and not 250. My question is why the sudden change??
So please let's stop the attack on the NPP and maybe on the cubans. The problem is that we have a blind goverment ruling us.

A Cuban doctor has to pass all the 3 steps before being allowed to practice medicine in the USA just like Ghanaian or Nigerian Medical doctor. Also, a Ghanaian doctor would not be allowed to practice in Cuba unless he passed their board exams.

So the question is why do Ghanaians allowed Cuban medical doctors practice without going through the process before being allowed. Do you know that people like Arthur-K and others who went to Ghana have to passed through all the process, and yet a Cuban doctor does not have to go through the process?

Think wisely, and stop being a partisan brute without conscience.

Italian, Indian, Pakistani, Chinese, Brazilian, Egyptian, GHanaian or Nigerian doctors have to go through the same process before being allowed to practice in the USA. Does that add anything to the argument that Cubans can also practice in the States once they have gone through the process?

Ghanaians, Americans, Indians, Chinese, Russians, Ghanaians, Nigerians and other foreign medical doctors have to go through a process being allowed to practice in Cuba. Are you now getting it?

Americans, Nigerians, Indians, Chinese, Russians, Romanians Canadians, Mexicans, Japanese and other have to go through a process before being allowed to practice in Ghana. Do you see the folly, stupidity and inferiority being shown here when Cuban trained doctors are allowed to come to Ghana to practice without going through the process.

And whoever told you that these Cuban doctors would be administered exams by the GMA before being practices needs to be shot for telling you lies. For years, Cubans have been allowed to do so without going through the system. Sometimes, some of them come without even having grasp of the English Language. Get it?

And stupidly and sheepishly, the government is using a Band-Aid to solve a problem that seems to be gangrenous in nature. Nothing is free- and this is what Africans like you have to know.

Anytime, a Cuban doctor is sent to any Country, that country is supposed to sent something back to Cuba in return. It could be hard cash or mineral resources. Venezuelans are paying back with their oil. Other Caribbean countries are paying back with Cash. Iran and other Arab Countries are paying back with their oil. Ask yourself, what are we going to use to pay them back? Remember, Cuba needs that to sustain its country because of the economic embargo.

Solutions- I hate writing ad nauseam without offering solutions.

1- After the SSSS, it has been found that some doctors are taking home LESS than what they were taking before the SSSS. Simple, sit down with them and find out the about those who are receiving less of their pay of the SSSS. Pay the difference and re-structure the system.

2-How come a tiny Island with a population of about 11 million could produce so many doctors to take care of all the Caribbeans, Central and South AMerica. Africa and Middle East? It is just a foresight of a leader. I believe if given a chance of 8 to 12 years, Ghana would be sending medical doctors to all west African countries and I am not kidding. It is just lack of foresight and always putting square pegs in round holes... just consider the current Minister of Health...

So this is not about NPP or CPP-- it is about lack of foresight.

Are we also saying that no deaths have ever been recorded out of lack of relevant and adequate professionalism on the part of Ghanaian doctors in our hospitals.

Putting all other arguments aside, Can all parties in parliamaent deny themselves at least half of thier rents to enable us settle the Medical Doctors and other striking workers for what was negotiated and agreed on?

You see, this government can be racist towards it's own people. Ghanaian doctors from the UK and USA have been trying to come and give free medical care and education but face stiff opposition from the Ghana Medical and Dental Council with no government intervention. These are some of the best of Ghanaian professionals excelling in the US, UK and Canada. They were told to each pay 400 dollars to be registered and made to feel that actually they are not needed. Now Cuban doctors are assembled at a short notice and we are told they are going to take no salary but given 150 dollars a month. This I believe to be a lie anyway. How are they going to survive on 150 dollars a month. I am assuming they are not going to be fed, accommodated and have no access to cars. Well how they buy fuel if given cars and look after their families in Cuba is anybodies guess. Sadly everybody takes Ghanaians for fools that we believe every lie we are told by the government

As a typical African, when you heard the Cuban doctors coming in, you thought it was free of charge, but it is not so. Castro do not- let me repeat, Castro neither train or send doctors for free. As Cocoa or Gold is to Ghana so is medical doctors to Cuba; that is he sends his doctors for exchange of real cash or natural resources because of the economic embargo against his country. That is how Cuba has survived all these years.

The government should sit down and solve the problem. It makes no sense that parliamentarians and military have been put on the SSSS and things went alright and they can't do that for the medical doctors.

How can someone who was receiving 2000 GNS be getting 1500 GNS after being put on the SSSS. THis problem is elementary and someone has to sit down and work it out for them... we are too lazy to think. As an African, sometimes, I begin to wonder whether God has regretted for creating the black African or not?

For example, irrespective of what grade you obtain from a university in Africa, you simply cannot practise in your field in Germany - NEVER. Nobody will give you a job in that field.

It is estimated that there are about 100,000 doctors in the country from the East block, who end up selling pizza etc.

Even foreigners who have studied there find it tough getting jobs in areas, albeit the dire need of staff.

She said that she could never come up with that much money all at once and could not afford to have the procedure done. The Dr. was happy to tell her of a new idea he was wanting to try. He said he could put some little round balloons inside of her breasts and then he could make it so that her breast would enlarge upon demand just by pumping her arms. She had the test done and was very satisfied. She waited a couple of weeks and then went out for the first time since the operation. She saw a nice looking NPP man at the bar. She walked up to him, pumping her arms as she approached him and said, "Say there handsome, wanna have a good time?" It's ridiculous to say that languare is a major barrier to healthcare provision by Cuban doctors... critical care involving surgeries for example don't need elaborate communication between doctor and patient. 5. our Agricultural formality.

There are other foreign doctors working in our hospitals. No one questions their competence.

There are even Ghanaian doctors who do not speak the local languages of the areas in which they work. Does this make them any less effective?

All that is required are interpreters. Usually, nurses act as interpreters.
