These doctors will still continue with their strike actions if the root cause is not dealt with.

These people went to medical schools and have become doctors with the aim of making only money but not to save lives. Before getting admission to do medicine at university, they had this mentality of coming out one day to make money but not to save lives. That is why they can embark on a strike because of unpaid money by looking at innocent Ghanaians dying at hospitals. If really they wanted to save lives as being told in school and after school being sworn an oath, they wouldn't be doing what they are doing now.

So my advice here to the government and the general public about how to completely stop the strikes by doctors is that, before they admit anyone to do medicine at a higher education there must STRONG TOUGHER series of interviews in order to hook and exclude off those whose mentality is to enter into medicine or health courses just to come out one day to make only money for themselves but not to save lives. Even if after this series of interviews and we got no one as qualified to do medicine or nursing course, it is better than to use our tax money to train them and after looking unconcerning for the tax payers to die in order to get more money from the government. We can use such money to import more doctors from Cuba instead of wasting on them for no benefit to the nation.

Yes, you said "BUT ANY FOOL CAN NOT BE A MEDICAL DOCTOR", and I add, "ON HIS OWN IN GHANA." This means, that the tax payer is involved. And whom are the medical doctors punishing with this "strike"? The man in the street; the poor athmatic girl whos father has paid tax all his life to train hundreds of medical doctors; the laboring woman who is giving birth the first time and needs a medical officer's attention; the retired laboratory technologist who spent his life working at Korle-Bu serving medical students; the poor ambulance driver who has gone blind; the sanitary man in charge of cleaning the doctor's office and laboratory at the European Hospital (Ridge Hospital); the poor iced water seller knocked down by taxi right in the pricincts of the Adabraka Poly clinic; etc. etc.

The doctors are asking for increased pay, not for monthly pay. Are we not aware that HALF BREAD IS BETTER THAN NONE?

What is the use any doctor who will not save life unless he has been paid extra money.

I am glad you're in the US. Is that what happens in the US? If you go to hospital even without insurance, doctors take of you, no matter what. No patient is turned away from any hospital in the US.Is it not true? Can those Ghanaian doctors who find their way into the US and practise support what is happening in Ghana today? Can they do same in the US?

If these doctors love their profession patriotically, they will not think of laying their tools as they have done to this extent. It is a shameful example being set for future medical students. What do you think?
