I also think that the so-called Energy Economist is extremely naive in proposing that Ghana should strengthen its cooperation with the Ivory Coast as a solution to the problem. If this Energy Economist does not know that the problem is between France and America, then he is in cloud cuckoo land. He should wake up to the realities of the world.

We have all these presumably educated people posing as experts but who do not know a simple fact such as that the reason why Ouattara was favored and imposed on the Ivory Coast was precisley this reason. Outtara like Danquah, Busia, Afrifa, Rawlings, Mills, Kufuor and Akuffo-Addo were are and prepared to play the white mans game against the interest of their own people. Meanwhile stupid Africans were going on about 'democracy' when Gbagbo was trying to keep the sovereignty of the Ivory Coast intact.

I would be very happy if the french take over those oil areas only if to teach Ghanaians who refuse to think and wake up, a lesson. After all, what we choose to call our oil is after all not really our oil since we only get 12% of revenues from it.

Now they brought in French oil exploration company to strike oil close to the Jubilee fields. The intention is to provoke Ghana to war. You see, all French colonies are in turmoil and they envy the English colonies. They sponsored the Bakassi war between Nigeria and Cameroun because of oil. Now they want to draw a wedge betweeen Coted'Ivoire and Ghana.Actually that country's untrained rebel army is no match for Ghanaian troops but the support it will receive from France will be overwhelming. The question is will the English equally support Ghana militarily should war break out between the two? this is food for thought before the decision is taken whther to resort to war or negotiate. Do you think it is by chance that almost all French colonies are at war or in political quagmire? Chad,Cote d'Ivoire, Togo, Mali,Central African Republic,ect etc. It is the doing of France. Come to think of the fact that in the mist of all these conflicts, France has oil companies in Cameroun, Chad, Gabon ,Cote d'Iviore. Check the standard of living of people of these countries and it is a pity. Chad for instance is one of the poorest countries on the continent without roads electricity and potable water yet they are resource rich.France now wants to extend their enviness to Ghana because they just cant come to terms with Ghana's bright future prospects. They fear their colonies will start asking why countries such as Ghana is developing without colonial shukles. Don't forget Gbagbo scared them with such rhetorics. God save Africa. I will be back. Then they circulated offensive materials to international organizations accusing Ghana of stealing oil from coted'Ivoire waters. Now they brought in French oil exploration company to strike oil close to the Jubilee fields. The intention is to provoke Ghana to war. You see, all French colonies are in turmoil and they envy the English colonies. They sponsored the Bakassi war between Nigeria and Cameroun because of oil. Now they want to draw a wedge betweeen Coted'Ivoire and Ghana.Actually that country's untrained rebel army is no match for Ghanaian troops but the support it will receive from France will be overwhelming. The question is will the English equally support Ghana militarily should war break out between the two? this is food for thought before the decision is taken whether to resort to war or negotiate. Ghanaian politicians better get serious and discard these foolish court cases else they will wake up one day and there will be no country to rule or they may not live to rule.BOOOOOOOOM

Rather than kill Africans -- and have another "Tribal African War" broadcast on BBC and CNN -- and give the French the spoils, Obasanjo simply handed over the islands to Cameroon to be rid of the disturbance. Oil is not worth blood.

Reducing national sovereignty to avoid war should be an utter last
resort. But if the colonialised president of Cote d'Ivoire threatens a war over this nonsense, then offer it to him. I have every suspicion that revenue from the oil fields will be as utterly mismanaged, for the benefit of his masters, as the revenues from cocoa and palm oil and banana plantations of his nation currently are.

I have posted comments on this forum in the past few years suggesting that Ghana was likely to experience trouble from a France backed Ivory Coast.The french pay masters of the current puppet government in the Ivory Coast will do everything in its power to get control of those oil fields.Right now France is in steep economic decline to such an alarming extent(many economic experts believe its plight is actually worse than that of Spain and describe it as a "bread basket case") that we can expect more French led interventions in its "backyards" in Africa. Frances rapid decline under a truly clueless and incompetent M Hollande has been breathtaking.France is desperate to ensure it has a lifeline to resources in its former colonies hence the recent interventions in Mali and the stationing of troops/special forces in resource rich Niger.Of course these desperate efforts will ultimately fail to address the fundamental problem of the rapidly declining productivity of the French Economy.M Hollande needs to be told that the solution to Frances problems lie right in Frances itself.France will not solve its problems by meddling in Africa. The French can no longer compete effectively with countries like Germany or even Italy right within the EU never mind on the global arena in the presence of economic stalwarts like China, South Korea Brazil etc etc.
